This place is so very rude and NON professional and they butchered my dog and gave me no warning about what could happen when you take your dog to have there nails clipped and when he was done and we left he wasnt bleeding but as we drove down the road we looked down and it was alllllll over his pants and when he took him back in and asked what they had done to our dog, the vet tech had a great comment.... "Oh, a massacre"... he continued to bleed and they attempted to let him go twice still bleeding... quick stop did not work the three or more times they used it... I had to walk away I was so upset... They had no compassion and the vet tech is not the one that did his nails... THE VET DID IT!! Does he know what hes doing?? "Oh well sometimes we dont know how close we are to the quick on the black nails.." well maybe you shouldnt cut so close!! All of his quicks were cut and his little feet were COVERED in blood :-( This place refused to give me my money back since they provided a service to me... A service that I could have done better myself at home. You also gave the service of giving me an ulcer and the worst two hours of my life.... My dog is my world and this is the reason why I have never brought him to a vet to have his nails done was because I was terrified of this exact thing happening... I have told everyone that I know about this place and what they did!! My boyfriend was covered in blood and everyone that saw him asked what happened... We will be telling everyone that will listen about this place and the lack of compassion that they showed for our child. 2nd opinion office looked at his nails and couldnt believe how short he cut them and did not even charge us for the exam because they were so sorry for what this office had done to our baby. We will be taking him to this office from now on!! oh and when he cut them it was done in under a minute.... on to the next one... THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE AND I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS PLACE AGAIN!!!!!!!!!HORRIBLEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Dr. Reinhart has been my vet for 5 years now, both for my personal dogs and for my foster dogs. She has always gone above and beyond for me, as well as for other clients who I have spoke to about her. She is great about offering multiple options with varying costs; she recognizes that not everyone can afford the most high-tech care for their pets, but does the best she can with the constraints that the owners give her. She works well with our rescue and tries to keep costs minimized. Dr. Reinhart will give you a true diagnosis, and wont sugar coat the potential issues that could arise based on the diagnosis. She offers multiple treatment options regardless of diagnosis, and will also offer follow-up options based on the initial treatment that you select. The care and concern that Dr. R shows for her patients and clients is unparalleled by anyone else in town. She will always stay late to help a regular client or emergency, and often follows up after hours to check on the pets. I have referred dozens of clients to her care and none have been let down! The rest of the staff at the clinic is always extremely polite and knowledgeable. They work with you to find an appointment that will work with both parties and will squeeze you in if necessary. The techs are equally as amazing and bust their behinds to give the best care for your furry children!

I want to give a HUGE SHOUT OUT to Pine Valley Animal Hospital, PC!!! Dr. Layton and his wonderful staff and amazing wife, Jeannie Schum Layton never gave up on finding out why our sweet little shih tzu, Tegan, had been so sick for so long. It would have been a mystery unsolved, but for the fact that her case kept Dr. Layton up at night and he insisted we bring her back in time and time again to check her progress. One staff member or another was calling daily to check on her. I have never seen such a love of animals. Dr. Layton gave up his morning off yesterday to play Veterinarian/Detective once again and solved the mystery of Tegans downhill trend and performed a life saving surgery. We never thought we would see her former self return, but this morning we have our bouncy, playful Tegan back. Thank you Pine Valley Animal Hospital! We are forever grateful. I encourage anyone who has a pet they love to check them out!

Affordable, friendly, reliable vet care. Im very pleased with the service. I have a super-sensitive Great Dane (has reactions to vaccines, generally experiences side affects to medication, etc.). Pine Valley recently did a much needed eyelid surgery on him due to Entropion. I was SO NERVOUS about this. This dog is my heart and I get really nervous due to his sensitivity when he has to go under anesthesia. The surgery went well and despite my amateur after-care, the results were fantastic. His eyes look great and hes much happier and more comfortable now that his eyelids arent scratching his poor eyes. They are always welcoming and kind when we come. My dog always gets a lot of attention. I might also add that I took my Dalmatian there for years, right until her final days. They were kind and compassionate with me when making the decision to let her pass on peacefully and without any further pain.

We moved to Wilmington in 2015 and tried two other vets - with disastrous results - before finding Pine Valley. From our first visit there, we could tell right away that they love animals and really care about helping them. Dr. Layton performed a knee surgery on our senior dog (a surgery that the vet we saw prior would not touch). And he continues to provide excellent care for that dog and our other dogs (Great Pyrenees that are huge) as well. We also get our dogs nails trimmed there. The Pyrs are tricky because theyre so big and furry with extra dew claws, but the staff does a wonderful job and we have never had any problems. I wanted to add that because I saw a review where someone had a bad experience, but for the number of times we have had nail trims, I believe the other experience was an exception, definitely not the norm. I cant recommend them enough - theyre great!

This place deserves zero stars. Brought my dog in sick and was told she would be fine in a couple days that it was arthritis(cost $300). She got worse after a couple days, went back in and seen layton who did emergency surgery (after telling me I needed to come up with $700 or he would not do the surgery) and he told me my dog would be fine when I picked her up. 2 days later she was dead after getting an infection from the surgery. I highly recommend you go to another vet, there are plenty qualified in wilmington. Layton is in it for the money, has no sympathy for the animals or their families. I learned the hard way, you dont have to.

Everyone here has always been so amazing with my Layla! Anytime she has gone in for an issue, someone always calls within the next few days to check in, they never have overcharged me and even speak rates before any procedure (which is so polite but wouldnt impact my decision for my pup regardless), they do check ups with the owner present (unlike many vets here who take the animal away and I dont like that), and they have all been so loving and gentil with Layla. I couldnt speak higher of their love for their jobs there- they truly care and work to prove it! Blessed to have such a vet service so close!
