I have been with this establishment since August of 2012. As my first time visit, it was sad, as I had a little dachshund (Dugan) who was in extreme pain. Living 15 miles away, and it being after 5:00 p.m., I phoned and the doctor and tech waited for me to arrive with my little dog. How many vets do this? This is the FIRST, especially when I was not even their client! On October 8, 2012, I sadly had to let my little Dugan go to heaven. The compassion of Dr. Manolukas as well as his staff was above and beyond heartfelt. There are many vets that are in the business only for the income, HOWEVER, I can honestly say Dr. Manolukas is NOT! He is the most caring, loving, attentive, concerned and compassionate veterinarian I have ever known in my 30+ years of needing a veterinarian! In December 2012, I was blessed with a little miniature long-haired dachshund. His name is JT! Of course, I named him after his name sake Dr. Manolukas, a name well deserved! Their personalities are identical! LOL! I was introduced to the PAW Plan they offer. I must say I am beyond thrilled with this plan! I do not have a credit card nor do I want one. I used my debit card with the Visa logo on it to obtain this Paw Plan for my little JT. I will NEVER regret getting this plan for my little guy. To know, with this plan, my little guy is taken care of and not to have the anguish of having to fork out money all at once is awesome! I just completed his puppy plan and being SO happy and satisfied with the Paw Plan I began his Essential Adult Paw Plan. Will I ever stop this plan? No, unless I no longer have my little dog, which I pray does not happen any time soon. This plan has saved me so much! Had I paid for the services without this plan, I would have spent much more, instead I have saved about $500 on this plan. Would I recommend the Paw Plan to you? OF COURSE! Would I recommend this vet to you? MOST DEFINITELY! If I could go above a 5-star rating I would!

I am giving the Hanover Regional Animal Hospital 3 stars, not for sub-par service (because everyone there really seems to love animals and have treated my dog great over the past 4 years), but for their horribly overpriced and inconsistent/inaccurate price quotes. Two months ago I took my lab in for her annual checkup where they noticed she had a broken tooth, so I naturally wanted it to be fixed. I knew it wasnt going to be cheap, and the ~$400 they quoted me for was reasonable, so I made the appointment. This morning I go in to drop off my dog, and they hit me with a $650 bill! Flabbergasted, I informed the tech that I had been quoted at $400, to which she responded, "Well I didnt tell you that." Mind you, this was the same tech that quoted me $400 two months prior. Why is it so difficult to give (and honor) accurate price quotes? If they would have honored the original quote and not indirectly deemed me a liar, this review would have gone much better. Unfortunately, they seemed to have lost sight of basic ethical business guidelines, and I will more than likely seek out another vet.

I brought my cat in to the hospital, knowing there was something wrong with her. She was vomiting, lethargic and not eating, all weird symptoms at the time. Dr. Manolukas attributed these symptoms to "stress" from me moving apartments and to fleas that shes had for over a month. Then, one week later, I have to put the same cat into the emergency clinic in Wilmington because her kidneys failed and shes dehydrated to the point to where blood test readings are impossible. When Dr. Manolukas made the decision to pass her symptoms off as stress, I was a bit bewildered, but now I am enraged. Maybe her kidney failure wasnt reversible, but attempting to claim that all cats vomit (even though mine almost never did previous to this visit) and cats rarely eat anyway to "stress" is insulting and may have very well lead to the death of my cat. When dealing with such black and white end scenarios, it doesnt pay to be wrong in the case of the health of a pet. In this case, Manolukas was dead wrong, and I have only the memory of my pet in return.

I went there because of all the good reviews and wish I hadnt. First off, my appointment was with Dr. Odom, who was a no show. I understand that emergencies come up, but no one on the staff bothered to tell me that she wasnt there. Not while I was being processed to go back to the exam room, not by the tech, not by the Dr. that came in to examine my pets. Secondly, the front desk staff ordered medications for me without my consent. No discussion was offered until I intervened and asked what they were preparing to inject into my dog. Third, the doctor was unable to stay on topic and follow through with the entirity of one subject before starting on another and then jumping back to the other thing we were discussing. And to top it all off, even though I stated 4 or more times that I wanted them to trim my dogs nails, they never did. This place doesnt have a clue about client relationships, communication, and probably not medicine either!!

The doctors and staff here are just angels! They have helped me with the care of my 2 senior dogs right up to their final breaths. I visited 2 other vet clinics in town, and can say my experience here has been far superior. Dr Manolukas will sit in the floor with your baby, sweetly petting and comforting it in such a way they never realize they are being examined. His presence made the passing of my first dog so much easier. Dr Mack was there for me yesterday, also in the floor, aiding in the difficult decision I was facing. She brought my dog and me peace in those final moments, and whispered such kind words to my pup as she passed on. They are knowledgeable and compassionate, as well as very reasonably priced and not pushy in overselling expensive services. I am so grateful to have found this office, and highly recommend them to anyone in town!!

Was quoted 250$ over the phone and given a 420$ bill. Charged for ear infection medicine that I noted to do the doctor 5 months ago that was blown off by the Vet as well. I would not recommend this Vet to anyone. Edit: Got to speak with the Manager about this and was pretty much told that all of my issues were my own fault even though no other options were presented to me before hand. I advised the receptionist that this was all a very large bill before the exams and was not given any other course of action besides pushing 2 or 3 shots back (which would cost me more in the long run because they would need to run another exam for more $) then told that not everything done was not necessary!!! Atrocious customer service and if I could give them 0 stars I would.

We are grateful for Dr. "John" Manolukas and the entire staff at HRAH. For the past 3 years Ozzie, our Boston Terrier, has looked forward to his check-ups and visits with Dr. Manolukas. Imagine a Vet that sits on the floor and allows your dog to lick him all over his face, plays with your pet, and talks about how your pet is doing, all while receiving his shots and exam. No wonder Ozzie shakes with excitement every time we visit! Dr. Manolukas has given us helpful solutions to all of our questions. His expertise and interest in keeping us up to date on the best pet parenting for our dog is much appreciated! Dorothy, Felicity, and the entire staff are cordial, helpful, and always take time to demonstrate how much they love animals with the TLC they give at HRAH!
