Ive had my new kittens for just several months now. When looking for a Vet, I wanted a place that exclusively serves cats. Ive been in other offices where my previous cats were terrified of being in the waiting room with dogs. Ive always had a pleasant time visiting the Vet. Never had to wait for an appointment. The office staff are a delight. The technicians are a whiz with the nail clippers. Dr. Summers really takes his time in examining the cats, explains things to you, and offers advice. Dr. Summers respects my decisions about the standard-of-care that I am willing to pay for, and does not try and up-sell blood-tests, etc. He is perfectly willing to do them, if thats what you want. I just had both my male kittens neutered, and Dr. Summers must be an expert with the scalpel. Their was no complications, and the cats returned home un-fazed by the process. Highly Recommended!

If youre looking for a vet for your cat, look no further! Dr. Summers and the rest of the staff at the Scratching Post are nothing short of exceptional! My 6 year old cat, Eli, became ill and lost half his body weight rather quickly. Long story short, it turned out he has a fungal infection in his intestines, which is not common. Dr. Summers knew the right meds to prescribe to keep Eli stable and comfortable, and kept me and my husband at ease by calling us often to check on him. Just a few weeks ago we were saying our good-byes to Eli, and now hes gaining weight and on the road to recovery! In addition to knowing their stuff, their prices are competitive and my cat has always been at ease while visiting, which was a problem for him at other vets. Thanks Dr. Summers and team!

Very disappointed. I have taken my cat here in the past and didnt have a problem. This time around I took my cat for an annual check up and had to use their boarding services. When I picked up my cat she would not eat at home. I called the vet and told them. This was about two days later. During the call they decided to tell me that she was stressed out during her stay and that she wouldnt eat. They had to give her appetite stimulants, however that was never communicated to me when I picked her up. My baby girl still isnt eating when I asked them what I should do they said maybe take her to an emergency doctor. Were booked. My bill was $200. I expect better.

We love Scratching Post! Our three cats have received excellent care from Dr. Summers and his friendly and warm staff. The facility is a lovely old house that is always fun to visit as well. We found the prices here to be competitive or better than some of the other animal clinics, and we love it that they specialize in cats - that way our precious kitties dont have to be stressed by other animals in the waiting room (although we never have to wait for long!).

They took great care of our precious "Mr. Lucky" this fall while we went to Hawaii for two weeks. We were very apprehensive about boarding him our for the first time, as he really does not like change. Also they did not seem to mind me checking in during the cruise. The "cat hospital" is clean and capable of doing any procedure our circumstances required. Prices are very reasonable. Dr. Summers and staff are kind, knowledgeable, and compassionate. Ive taken my cat to the scratching post twice for very serious conditions. The staff was absolutely wonderful. I cannot say enough great things. Though sadly we had to put my cat down today I am still so impressed with the way my cat was treated like one of their own. I would highly reccomend The Scratching Post to anyone with a feline.

If you love your cat, you want to take it to the Scratching Post. They care about their patients - the staff and vet both took the time to make sure my cat was comfortable and calm before beginning the exam. They were gentle with him, and took the time to explain to me everything they were doing. Highly recommended!!!!

Ive been taking my cats to Dr. Summers ever since he opened his first clinic down the street from the current one. He is absolutely wonderful. I also like the fact that he does house calls because my cats are extremely difficult to get into a carrier. I wouldnt take my cats anywhere else.

I took a very sick cat there and he received immediate care. Dr. Summers took time to explain (and show) me what the problem was and how he was fixing it. I now take all 5 of may cats there and have learned so much about cat care. The vet, staff and service are the best I have known.

Best cat doctor in the Dayton area. After calling ahead, I took in my very sick kitty on a Monday morning, and Dr. Summers was able to work him in between a full appointment schedule and let me know what I needed to do. Very kind, very helpful and very knowledgeable.

Had such a positive experience here. Our cat does not do well at all going to the vet, getting into a carrier, etc. The staff were so welcoming, friendly, and calming. They knew exactly how to interact with her. We will only be taking her to the scratching post.
