I just wanted to say that Dr. Lake is a fabulous vet. He is very old school which may turn some people off, like the previous reviewer. Hes no nonsense!! Which I love! When I take my dogs there I dont need to make an appointment which is awesome, I just bring them in during his open office hours (this works really well for me because more often than not I dont know my work schedule weeks in advance like I need for other vet appts) and I have NEVER waited for more than 10-15 minutes. He sincerely LOVES animals which is evident immediately. He shoots it to ya straight, he doesnt tell you that you need things you dont need and hes very thorough with his explanation of different symptoms and medication. One time he even pulled out a medical book to show me a photo of something that he told me to watch for and I said, "well, what exactlly does it look like so that I can be sure ?" he pulled out the medical book, and showed me a photo and explained everything very well. I would highly recommend him to anyone seeking veterinary help for their animals. Hes an older man, so he doenst do surgery on animals over 40lbs. because he personally cannot move them when they are under anesthesia, other than that he is fabulous...........even if he doenst work with pet snakes! Oh and also....just wanted to say, he doesnt charge an office fee and his charges for other things are insanely inexpensive compared to other vets. I had a puppy that I thought had a broken rib (one of my kids stepped on her accidentally) and I brought her in and he looked her over for at least 10 minutes feeling each and every rib making sure she was ok and when I was done he told me to have a great day and just be very careful when picking her up and not to allow the kids to pick her up for a week or two until she was heeled (he thought she had a pulled muscle) and she did, within a few days she was fine and he didnt charge me ONE CENT for that visit. I said, what do I owe you?? He said, what do you mean?? I didnt do anything but look at her?? Have a great day!! My mom who was with me couldnt believe her ears, she had never taken an animal to the vet and left without paying SOMETHING. Even if there was no medication given or bandaging done. She couldnt believe it!!!! Thats just the way he is though, very old school, and very to the point. Any other vet I can almost guarantee would have charged me at least 20-30 dollars and listed it as an office charge/examination...but not him! I will NEVER take my pets to another vet.
