I contacted the office and went back and forth via email a few times trying to determine if they accepted my insurance. Eventually it was determined that they did and I was told, after describing my situation (which included needing a cleaning, a new crown, and a root canal) that I would need to come in for a cleaning and basic once over. I was told it would cost $60-ish for the visit. All employees/staff I encountered were very pleasant. They took X-rays and then had my teeth cleaned. The dental hygienist looked at the X-rays and said she didnt see anything that looked like cavities, but that the dentist would obviously need to take a look. I was then told that they were only able to do a "partial" cleaning and that Id have to schedule a second visit to have them finish! Ive seen my fair share of dentists in my 35 years of life and I have NEVER been told that they could only perform half the cleaning! That set off a red flag, so I asked if that would require a second charge to finish the job and I was assured that it would be billed to my insurance as my second yearly cleaning, which seems kind of shady to me and would have meant that any future cleanings in that year would not be covered by my insurance because they only allow two a year. Then the dentist showed up and told me that, not only did I need a root canal and a crown replaced (both of which I knew), but that I had several cavities, and that another tooth that had ALREADY had root canal therapy done on it TWICE (the first time was 10 years ago and they missed a portion of the root so another dentist had performed the root canal again, literally two months before this visit) should be done a 3rd time. I accepted all of this information graciously as I knew my teeth needed some care, but I was feeling a little taken advantage of due to their lack of being able to complete my cleaning. I made my way to the front desk and was given a receipt for almost $200, nearly 3 times what I was quoted over the phone for the visit, and told that, all together, the other work I needed would cost nearly $6000. Now, either the other dentists (mostly Worthington dentists) Ive seen in my life were doing a half assed job and the Gentle Dentist is super thorough or they did half their job and charged me 3 times the amount for it. Im not one to make a scene. I did ask about why it was more than quoted, but I was also trying to wrap my head around the cost of the other procedures and the receptionist trying to explain what insurance would pay depending on whether or not I met certain waiting periods, and so on. The two stars are for everyones general pleasantness and the swag I got (lip balm, toothbrush, mouthwash, toothpaste, etc.) Generally icky feeling about their overall honesty.

I have been terrified of dentists for a long time due to some really unpleasant expediencies. HOWEVER, The Gentle Dentist is fantastic and are helping me get over my fear. They are absolutely wonderful! My friend recommended them to me because I wanted to have some work done on my teeth so that I could have a beautiful smile. They really take their time explaining everything they are going to do, what to expect next, and making sure that I am comfortable and doing alright. I cannot speak highly enough about their staff and my experiences with them. During my initial visit they did a general cleaning and took x-rays to check everything out. They advised me that I need to get my wisdom teeth removed but since they dont take health insurance, which is what my wisdom teeth being removed would be billed under, they gave me a referral. Since my first visit last month, I went back last night for the first part of my deep cleaning. They did the right side and I am scheduled to go back next week to do the left side. This process is a little pricey because there are things that insurance doesnt cover, but it is worth it, especially if you havent been to the dentist in a while. I am truly looking forward to continuing to visit The Gentle Dentist because I feel like I have finally found a place where I am valued and listened to. Even though they have a ton of clients, I feel like they really care about me as an individual. Also, a huge plus is that I have been taken back on time or early both times. I dont spend long waiting to be seen in the waiting room or when taken back. They have evening and weekend hours, which is fantastic for my schedule and even though I see them in the evening, they are still so nice and happy by the time they get to my appointment time. Please, do yourself a favor, check out their specials on their website and then head over to The Gentle Dentist, you wont regret it.

Im sure the staff for very nice if you come there every 6 months as they want and spend lots of money on all their extra things that arent covered by your insurance and let very young inexperienced arrogant Dr maverick in your mouth I was clenching in pain from just a cleaning as I have sensitive teeth and they did not care got annoyed when I was visibly in pain, I dont know what part of the ignored me being in pain this guy is still not getting moreover you have no interest in contacting me and working this out you would rather publicly refute the information in a childish manner I stumbled into your computer because you were guarding me as you walked me out of your office like I was some sort of criminal because I felt uncomfortable. This is why I left in 2004 I was a very long time patient of this office and was treated like this multiple times I see nothing has changed. The fact they say I said it felt like she was pulling my teeth is more proof they dont listen to you and assume they know what youre trying to communicate. I said it felt like she was pulling "ON MY TEETH" harder than anyone ever had during a cleaning. I can only assume this was done intionally to "teach me a lesson" for not coming to their office. What they dont realize is Ive had recent cleanings and the build-up they were expecting simply wasnt there. I have since seen elsewher and had my teeth cleaned with a painless sonic device. Wonder why they couldnt offer this, their solution to my discomfort was a mouth full of lidocaine injections, sounds gentle to me....

My 3-year-old son was so scared of the dentist, to the point of not sleeping the few nights before. I have no idea why he was so terrified. I found The Gentle Dentist in the phone book and called with some quesions, even though we were not patients they took the time to talk to both of us. We took him there for his first appointment and he is now looking forward to his next appointment. I apprecaited that they talked to him and really took the time to expain things in a 3-year-olds vocabulary. They are great for adults too, very personalbe, professional and patient. They really make you feel like when you are there, you are the only patient and I feel like they truely care about my family. I have read some of the negative reviews about prices. When I first called I did not have insc and they seemed very willing to workk with me within reason and also offered to refer me elsewhere if I wanted that. By the time we had our appointment I did have insc, so I cannot speak from first-hand experience. They were completely honest in telling me that they do charge a little more than the adv and I could save money by going to a dentist in a dif tier of my network. My final cost for 2 appointments (cleaning, x-rays and such) and one filling was $62 which I felt was very reasonable.
