I was lucky enough to find Birch Street Animal Clinic through a referral at a dog park. My Jack Russell, Zelda, had been in a cycle of ill health for over three years. Shes lost her desire to run and play and approximately every 6 weeks suffered from a bad bladder infection. I knew something more was wrong with her and left her regular vet to get the opinion of others. Birch Street was the 4th referral I tried, and Dr. Dod didnt believe she was suffering recurring bladder infections. Over the course of a few weeks he checked different aspects of her health. He explained all tests and results clearly to me. He even took a few days off to go camping in the midst of the diagnosis and emailed me a 2 page letter detailing what he thought the diagnosis was. He asked for one more blood test. We went back in and after the test it was confirmed that Zelda had atypical Addisons Disease. Shes now on daily medication and is running and playing again and barking at squirrels like a JRT once again. Throughout this process Dr Dod and everyone there were so interested and sympathetic. They were careful with tests ordered, limiting my expenses while giving Zelda the BEST medical care shes ever received. We are now regulars at Birch Street Animal Clinic, and I recommend them frequently. Everyone deserves veterinary care of this quality. Im so touched and grateful to the entire staff: they gave Zelda her life back.

The first time I saw Dr. Dax was when my cat was pretty ill. He was amazing not just to my cat, but to me as well. He would call me after hours to take the time to explain things or answer all my questions (and I had a lot). He genuinely cares and it shows even in the first visit. My cat didnt make it through that illness, and even then, when Dr. Dax put him to sleep, Dr. Dax was very compassionate as I sat there and cried. Unfortunately, about a month later, my other cat got sick. This time I saw Dr. Jarret. He was equally as awesome. Of course, I wanted to do everything I could to help my cat, but I dont have much money. Dr. Jarret worked with me to get as much treatment for my cat within monetary constraints. Sadly, that cat didnt make it either. The staff at the clinic are fantastic. I think they all know who I am after that. They also go above and beyond to help you and your pet. Everyone is really friendly and the atmosphere is generally very positive. I hate that I met everyone when my cats were so sick, Id rather have met them without the crisis. I have since gotten a new cat that I took to them right away to check him over because I had gotten the cat from a shelter. Birch Street Animal Clinic, hands down for me, is the best vet clinic that I have ever been to. I would highly recommend them to a friend any day. Heck, I would recommend them to strangers too.

Staff is fantastic, which when it comes to our babies is priceless. Doesnt hurt that they charge FAR LESS then other providers and they dont pressure or take advantage of your vulnerable state to do more than what is necessary. There building is like a house that was converted into a business but I think it adds to their charm and homey feeling. A few years ago our male cats pancreas was giving out again and after a week in their care he came home. Fees were half of what we were charge 2 years prior with another provider for same diagnoses and time in hospital. Worst thing is letting go of our babies and this summer 2 of my indoor 16 year old cats were dying (within 2 months from each other) and I just didnt want them to suffer anymore and to be put down. Initially I called around and they said it was their policy to have an examine first and do tests. The thought of my babies remaining hours be spent being poked not to mention the extra expense infuriated me. Birch scheduled a non-examination appt. where the doctor and nurse would come in and briefly evaluate the situation which in our case there was no doubt. While being injected we were right with them the whole time. Our only fee was for the injection and private cremation to take home (takes about a week to return) Cant say enough good things

I found Birch Street when I asked a professional dog groomer for a referral. I have had pets all of my life, and have had many experiences over the past six decades with vets. Birch Street vets, Drs. Dax and Jarrett, from the beginning have delivered in all ways. They are excellent, well- informed communicators who will give you the straight story on a situation involving your pet. They always take time to explain things thoroughly, including procedures about which you may be apprehensive. It has also become very apparent to me, that the front people- office staff and assistants-- are incredibly important to any business because they set the tone for your experience. Perry, Patricia and Deborah are just three of the capable, very friendly and efficient staffers who will help make even the most difficult situation with your pet, easier You cannot leave what you love dearly unless you can trust those who have temporary charge; when it matted, I was able to trust the doctors and staff at Birch Street.

I never had the chance to meet the "quirky" Doc before he retired but heard he was a good Doctor. We just found a new Vet in this staff, awesome down to earth folks. Our cat is 3 months from feral and I tried to warn them not to be fooled by this all white blue eyed cat as "Boo Boo" will rip you arm off if given half a chance. I couldnt have been more wrong, they introduced themselves to him with the back of the hand, calm words and just began to handle "The Cat from Hell" couldnt believe it! They taught me techniques for working with him that I wouldnt have known, taught me how to treat my own wounds should they occur again and put my Wife & I on a path to bringing him into our lives. Prices were very reasonable especially since they stayed after hours to patch him up (he tangled with a Mountain Lion and won) lol Mel

I highly recommend Birch St Animal Clinic above any others. After getting the run around from other vet clinics and specialists about rather large tumor my dog needed to have removed, a friend told me to give them a call. So glad I did, they got us an apt right away and made her priority. After completley discussing with us best and worst case scenario, we scheduled the surgery with them feeling completley confident she was in great hands. Surgery was this morning and it was a complete success! The best part was they were always happy to talk to my husband or I no matter how many times we called throughout the day to check on our girl. From now on our animals will only see the Drs and staff here at Birch St Animal Clinic. We are forever greatfull, and I cant speak highly enough. ...they are simply amazing!

I cannot say enough great things about this clinic. They have taken excellent care of my 2 dogs (and me). They compassionately helped me through the aging and ultimate loss of my Missy. They continue to care of my Boo, who is aging "gracefully". Both Dr Dax and Dr Jarrett are extremely competent and compassionate. Dr Jarretts knowledge amazes me, he is always willing to take the time to explain things, as does Dr Dax. All the support staff, Perri and Sarah are great (I am forgetting one of the gals names, sorry. Wonderful, warm and trustworthy group. I recommend them highly!
