Update 12/12/2011 - Our cat has been suffering what we presume is chronic upper respiratory virus. After having gone to a separate vet, for a separate reason, and conferring with a new friend, who is a vet, about what might be ailing our cat we had a pretty good idea what might be wrong. I remembered our first visit here and thought wed give them another try. I called and spoke with a very nice office manager and said that I had a long and involved cat story and could I email. Apparently they dont have email, but I could fax something over. I wrote it out and faxed it. Not too much later the very nice lady called me back and said that she had given my fax to the doctor. However, she said the doctor didnt look at it and just looked at the cats chart and said "We havent seen this cat for three years, I dont know whats wrong with the cat. They will have to come in." The reason you havent seen the cat in three years is because of this attitude and inability to diagnose the problem the last time we brought her in. I have new information, that I wrote out and faxed but they ignored it. We will NOT be making an appointment and highly suggest you do not visit either. --------------- PREVIOUS REVIEW-------------- We had a VERY positive experience after having gone to several vets in the area. The 3 before Burlingame Vet Clinic felt like a bad auto mechanic trying to sell us this, that and the other thing while hardly looking at our cat. Dr. Byers was patient and knowledgeable. We hadnt been back, but our cat got suddenly ill and needed to be seen today. I called the office and was informed that there arent any doctors in on Wednesday. What? What are they doing in the office today...darts? Solitaire? I was very disappointed. If you need a regular check up or some shots for your pet I would highly recommend this clinic. If you need relatively urgent care (not emergency, but urgent) you may have to call around. Too bad.

Truly offers “The best care for your best friend” just like they say! My pets and I been a very happy clients of Burlingame Veterinary Clinic for the last 11 years. In that time, Dr. Kellogg and Dr. Byers have given top notch care to all my furry family, and since I take in dogs with medical issues that have become too much for their owners to manage, I am a very regular visitor to the clinic. I have great appreciation for the superior diagnostic ability of both of these doctors and have always seen success with the treatment plans that they formulate. In addition, Dr. Kellogg’s surgery skills are second to none. When it has come to the end of time for my beloved pets, the respect and compassion given by the doctors and their staff is beyond compare. Dr. Kellogg even came to my home on my diabetic cat’s last day as she would have been quite uncomfortable having to travel to the clinic. Several of my pets have been referred by Burlingame Veterinary to specialists including a neurologist, an allergist, a behaviorist, an orthopedist, an internist, an oncologist and most recently, an ophthalmologist. Every one of these doctors spoke highly of Dr. Kellogg and were very complimentary of his veterinary expertise. I highly recommend these talented veterinarians.

We have brought our animals in over the years, while the doctors were proficient I would not say that we ever felt very welcome. Recently we were quoted an astronomical amount for a procedure that we would need to have done daily for as long as a few months. We had to seek help from another veterinarian who said even after calculating in all the costs he could think of, he could not justify what they were trying to charge us. Burlingame did try to knock $300 off the daily bill, after we told them we had to seek help elsewhere, but the new office originally quoted us a reasonable price that is still less expensive, as well as we felt instantly welcome there, and they have done a great job with our animal. I realize that this is a job and people need to make a living, but when other professionals in the same field are baffled by your charges it tells me you are pulling one over on your customers.

I can recommend Burlingame Veterinary Clinic without reservation. Dr. Ziegenbalg and the entire staff are skilled, professional, and caring. Everyone at the clinic is welcoming and they clearly love animals. My dogs actually love dropping in to the clinic just to visit !!! One of my dogs was having some severe gastrointestinal problems. Dr. Ziegenbalg eased my mind by ruling out a number of possibly serious causes. He was then able to pinpoint the cause of her tummy troubles and prescribe a treatment program that had her back to her happy healthy self in no time. Dr. Ziegenbalg even called me a few days into the treatment to see how she was responding. I am very fortunate to have Burlingame Veterinary Clinic right in my neighborhood, But I would drive across town if I had to; I know my dogs are in very good hands with Dr. Ziegenbalg.

Weve been going to Burlingame Vet Clinic ever since it opened years ago, and the doctors there have seen to the health of numerous cats over the years (some rescue kitties) and our precious goofy golden retriever. Weve always received the best care there from Dr. Kellogg (now retired) and his colleagues, most recently Dr. Hart and Dr. Z. The medical assistants are great and everyone on staff loves animals. We had to put one of our cats to sleep which is always a painful experience, but Dr. Kellogg allowed our family to take all the time we needed with our little friend in the exam room and we were able to sing her to sleep and sit with her for a while afterwards until we felt ready to leave. Really, I cant think of a better place for pets from babyhood to old age. Well never go anywhere else.

Its unfortunate I even have to write this review to a place we have been taking our dog for 14 years. However, the new vet that took over for Dr. Kellogg did not treat our dog recently with full disclosure financially for the same procedure we have had done at this clinic several times. They dont care to make it right either. A procedure that we used to have done literally went from less than $500 to $1600 when we went to pick her up. Know before you go... terrible customer service when I tried to discuss this situation with the office manager. They dont care, its about the money to them.

We love this place! Drs. Kellogg and Byers have been absolutely fantastic over the many years that I have been coming to Burlingame Vet Clinic - the care that my dog (and now my new kitty) receive is exemplary and always comes with a smile and a warm heart. They are conscientious, kind, practical, and they always go above and beyond to ensure that my animals are treated in the best way -- they outline the options clearly and concisely. The rest of the staff is amazing as well - we feel like family when we come there. Cant recommend this place highly enough!

We are so happy with Dr. Ziegenbalg and his staff. Weve been coming to Burlingame Vet for eight years and really feel like Dr. Z has upped the level of service considerably. The staff (Brenda, Honey, Rosie and Kristin) have showed such warmth and compassion towards our dog and our family. They go the extra mile and routinely follow-up with us after appointments to make sure our bulldog is feeling better and doing well. I will continue to trust my dogs health to the fine folks at Burlingame Vet.
