Before I moved out of state, this place was already starting to go downhill. The only reason I am doing three stars instead of one is because of the great service I received from Dr. Z and Dr. Kolts. But, now theres some new doctor who doesnt listen to the needs of his patients. I came in for a consult on some work I needed done, started by Dr. Z. Dr Z and Dr. Kolts know I cant have ANY work done until I am under the influence of Nitrous. Its all over my charts. I was already unhappy to have to involve a new Doctor on this very expensive procedure. Then, this dopey, wide eyed doctor walks in, barely shakes my hand (I dont even remember his name, thats how little small talk there was) and has a metal hook IN AN OPEN CAVITY before I have time to react or explain my reason for my visit (had nothing to do with that cavity). I jump. I tell him he is not going anywhere near my mouth until I have nitrous he says "Itll be fine" and proceeds to come at me with the hook again, at which point I jump out of the seat and storm out. I make my complaints known to the staff and say I will not be back as long as that new guy is my dentist. Fast forward six months. Im in a new state trying to continue the work that they couldnt finish because of dopey new doctor. I ask for a release form, they try to tell me how great the shop is and they try to tell me about how great the new dopey dentist is. I say "Actually, even if I hadnt moved out of state, I wouldnt have come back because..." refer to parargraph one. They e mail me a complicated release form (seriously Ive seen release forms before. This one has more sections to sign then a newspaper.) I make my best guess and send it over. I ask for confirmation. I dont hear back. I email a couple of days later. i dont hear back. Finally, my new dentist calls me and says they never received my records from Hillsboro Dental Excellence. I tell them I sent a release a week ago. I call HDE, they never got my e mail. Uh huh. Luckily I saved it, so I forward the original to my new dentist, who received it while I was on the phone. Turns out I had signed in the wrong place. So, I had my new dentist send me their form, which was actually clear on where to sign. Hopefully now I will get my records so these dentists can bill my insurance the $5,000 that HDE missed out on. DR. Z. and Kolts are great. The new guy, whatever his name is... stay far, far away. Sad to see Hillsboro Dental Excellence go downhill the way they have.

Dr. Skinner and his staff there were super nice. I have a LOT of dental anxiety from a bad experience when i was a kid at the dentist, so i have not been to the dentist in 15 years or so. I had a tooth ache on Friday and thought nothing of it since they have come and gone before. Saturday It started hurting a LOT more and I could barely get some sleep. Sunday came and my face was on fire. It started swelling and became the only thing that i could focus on all day and into the evening, I went to the ER and they just gave me antibiotics and pain pills which did very little to help out and they told me to call a dentist. This is the time when I knew SOMETHING HAD TO BE DONE since this wasnt going away and my face was swollen up to the point that my eye was almost swollen shut. I called the office Monday morning and Dr. Skinner gave up most of his lunch hour in order to see me. I was so nervous sitting in the chair while I was explaining to the staff what was going on. Dr. Skinner explained very well what was going on and that we had to take the tooth out. He was really good about answering all of my questions and I could tell that he actually listened to my questions and concerns unlike other docs that I have gone to before. I was super nervous at this point, and he was able to get me calmed down and got me numb without me even feeling the needle! I had no idea that was even possible! Dr. Skinner was able to get the tooth out in less than 5 minutes after he got me numb. I only felt a little bit of pressure as he got it out. He rinsed the infection out and I was on my way in a few minutes after that. I am halfway through my treatment plan and am so glad that I am saving my teeth instead of just letting them continue to go bad. I am really thankful for what he did for me and the way that he helped me overcome my anxiety and realize that dentistry isnt what I thought it was when I was a kid. i cannot thank that man enough for helping me to no longer feel pain whenever i bite down into something

Since recently returning back to Washington county I could not remember for the life of me who my primary care dentist was, huge blank, and since I wanted to do dinner with out an issue, and the issue was after forty plus years the cement that held it on quit, and off came the crown during me trying to eat lunch, so trying not to faint the tongue checked it out and the brain said you dont wanna look at that in the mirror just slip it back on and call for help and after you call for help make damn certain you sterilize you mouth with bleach water. So after speaking on the phone with the secretary and she was prompt, upbeat, it very true pleasure to speak with a time was set for my appearance, all I could say was WOW when I walked in the foyer is in a thousand or more words quite lovely, I know my emergence imposed upon others and they probably had to step a little faster doctor Geoffrey Skinner shall stand center stage in the spot light and take a bow he was able to sucessfully repair another dentists work after forty years of use and inspected the crown before re installing it, I also apologized for what they had to look at, seriously a tooth that had been prepped for an crown forty years ago isnt one of the prettiest things to see. So yes they did restore my "million dollar smile" they touched my soul with so much compassion I almost broke down to a huge puddle of tears, and the rate no complaint either thanks to each of them what I came in was a challenge of their abilities. And they rose and succeeded. The nurse who took the xray was tender enjoyable and i followed her instructions right to the letter so this problem did not become worse thannit was, i regret i dont grab names they way i use to but if you get them all center stage they shall shine like the heroic stars that they are! All i have is praise for them.

Went in for a consultation for Invisalign this morning and was greeted by Tina the manager and Diana the nurse. Both greeted me kindly and had a pleasant disposition. The doctor who did my consultation, Geoffrey Skinner, proved exceedingly knowledgeable. Helping answer any and all questions I had, he even had answers for my semi chronic jaw discomfort and was determined to help me resolve all of my concerns. The atmosphere in a dentistry office can sometimes seem off-putting but Dr. Skinner and his team made me feel extremely comfortable and relaxed. I was very surprised when the Dr told me his technique with Invisalign would cut the correction time to a fourth of what other dental consultations told me!! This seemed miraculous to me but it is tue! I had a few concerns after the consultation about possible discomfort from the retainers and techniques used but the nurse, Diana and the manager, Tina both had been treated with that technique with Invisalign and had wonderful advice which put me at ease. At the end of the appointment I was given several different payment options to think through, making it obvious that the team at Hillsboro Dental Excellence is willing to do anything they can to help you afford your needed care. So pleased by this business overall and I am definitely looking forward to my treatment here. I will continue to post updates as I continue through my treatment. A huge thank you to Hillsboro Dental Excellence for making my needs a priority and my care within reach!!!
