Where do I begin... For starters. Ive been told multiple times (more than 6, definitely) by people who I have just met that mac hospital has been responsible for the death of loved one. Ive been told a few stories by people I know that knew of cases where the hospital needed to amputate this limb or that....AND TOOK THE WRONG ARM OR LEG. Ive been told that they needed to preform surgery and remove a persons appendices, WHEN THEY ALREADY HAD IT REMOVED YEARS AGO. THIS WAS AFTER LOOKING AT EXRAYS... Ive been told horror stories of people walking into the emergency room in desperate need, only to have paper work thrust at them to fill out. (A guy with fingers missing on his right had from a chainsaw accident. He was right handed, by the way. Was told he had to fill out what was basicly a book to get treatment. Passed out in the lobby after a few minutes of trying.) (Child with a clearly broken arm. Staff told the parent it wasnt broken and had to fill out paperwork anyway. Waited over 3 hours. Never got help. Left and went to salem. Got help almost instantly.) (My mother-in-law broke her leg so badly that her ankle bone below the knee was completely severed under the skin. She could flop it around without moving her leg. The broken leg was even longer than the other leg by a couple inches because it was so unattached beneath the skin. THATS HOW BROKEN IT WAS. Her and my husband went to the hospital. Were told BY A FULL FLEDGE DOCTOR that it wasnt broken. When my husband insisted it was broken, the doctor said that if he argued with him they would call the cops and have him removed from the hospital. After exrays were done. It was so obvious that the leg was broken, it was laughable. I think my husband even called a doctor in from the hall to "make sure" it was really broken.) DO NOT GO HERE. DO NOT GO HERE. DO NOT GO HERE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! (I forgot the best one: My great grandma had a stroke a while back. She was in a comatose state. But she still could hear the staff talking with a relative of hers that they should start making funeral arrangements and dividing up her stuff now. She told this to my mom when she woke up...)

This review is not about the Cancer Center because they are wonderful there. This is about the ER. The worst ever. I took my sister there because we were at the Cancer Center and she has had a bowel obstruction for a couple of days so they said go to the ER and get it checked out. We checked in at about 3 pm. There were 2 people ahead of us. They took her back about 50 min later. The whole time we were there they gave her a pain killer that didnt kill the pain. The nurse was really nice but never saw the DR. Everybody that was there when we checked in was still there when we left at 6:10. My sister never saw the DR. She was in so much pain and was hungry and they didnt want her to eat and she hadnt eaten all day. My sister is stage 4 colon cancer. I think that is why the Dr didnt bother to see her. They werent that busy and they said they had 3 Dr in the ER. We never say one of them. She went home and took her own pain meds and if she is not better tomorrow ( which she probably wont be) I will take her to St Vincent. With her Chemo treatment and not being able to keep her energy up it was hard for her to lay there and not get the help she needed. Her Dr said they just needed to do an x-ray and see what the obstruction was. She had been taken stool softeners all week but no success. Is this how they treat all the cancer patients that come in the door or do they treat everyone that way. Like I said all the people were still there that came in with us What the heck were 3 Dr. doing all that time? The nurse was crying she was so upset that my sister was in so much pain and so uncomfortable and couldnt get any help. What a pathetic situation. The Drs. shoudl be ashamed of themselves if they cant do their jobs any better than that. We left a little after 6 without seeing a Dr. They wanted her to sign a form that said leaving without Dr permission. We didnt see a DR so she wouldnt sign the form. PATHETIC.

We just received a bill from a collection agency based in Florida for an MRI that my wife had in 2015 at Willamette Valley Medical Center. We moved to McMinnville three and a half years ago. We have been to WVMC several times in those three and a half years and each time filled out all the paper work required with our correct address, had copies of our drivers license with the correct address taken, copies of our insurance cards with our correct address taken, and their billing department still managed to send the bill to our old address, apparently repeatedly. So naturally, it didnt get paid. For some reason they kept both addresss in their system instead of updating and removing the old address like any competent business would. Their billing departments level of incompetency is ridiculous. These are the same people that demand all of your information before they will see you while you sit there slowly bleeding out. Its funny how the collection agency based in Florida sent the bill to our correct address instead of our old address. Apparently the collection agency has people working for them that posses some common sense and have a functioning brain, two qualities that the billing staff a WVMC lack.

My son dislocated his shoulder and I took him to the emergency room. Saw a lobby full of patients who have also been waiting there too long. My son was in extreme pain and no came out to the waiting area to at least triage him. We waited for about 20 minutes and I noticed my son seemed as if was going to pass out from the pain, so I decided to take him to Providence in Newberg. As soon as we got there, they took him in within 30 seconds and started document his situation and then took him back right away. They took care of him ASAP. I too work at a clinic and many patients have already told me their experience at WVMC. Aparently they only care about your money, and they will NOT consider your situation an emergency unless you Stop Breathing. I know for a fact they even brought over to our clinic a homeless person on a wheel chair because they refused to have the patient there. I remeber she had leg pain. Its unfortunate to see those situations happen. PLEASE DO NOT GO TO WILLAMETTE VALLEY MEDICAL CENTER. They only care about your money, not about your health. PROVIDENCE in NEWBERG are the BEST.

I am a cash-paying patient, a US citizen, who asked for help from WVMC and was denied care BECAUSE I WAS TOO OLD. This is a violation of the Hippocratic Oath and blatant discrimination against the elderly. This kind of discrimination is apparently very common in the USA. Everyone has accepted that corporate medicine has the right to refuse service to a large segment of the population that is most in need of their help. There is only one possible reason for this behavior. A loss of profit, and fear of Medicare and other health care providers that would limit their bottom financial line. Apparently the Hippocratic Oath is now ancient history in America. I was told that this was a policy decision voted on by all members of the WVMC professional staff. Congratulations, all of you. You are minions of the for-profit only medical profession. I too was once a medical professional in the US. I will not longer make that claim; it shames me. And shame on you.
