I really like the new building that Oak Park Dental has built. It is very comfortable and inviting. I have been going to Oak Park Dental ever since I moved to Oregon from Iowa 6 years ago. I absolutely HATED to go to the dentist. As a little girl, I had some health issues and the enamel didnt form on my teeth and by the time I was 5 years old I had 5 caps and 10 fillings in my mouth. That was traumatic and has stuck with me. Now I am 47 years old, and just my last two visits, I have been able to well... semi relax lol. There is a new dentist in the office who is especially good in my opinion. I have seen a couple others over the years and they are all nice dont get me wrong, but I really like the new one there. The dental hygienists are all very pleasant, helpful, and kind to you, the receptionist people are really nice and everyone has a smile for you. They will help you set up a preventative maintenance program so that your teeth can be at the best they can be, which is the only place I have ever been to that has done this. If you are out shopping around for a dentist, or are unhappy with your current one, please consider giving this place a try. I cant believe I am even writing a review here, as the only thing I have ever reviewed before is a couple of my favorite authors online. However, since I am really happy with this place, I had to write so others who maybe felt like me about going to the dentist would know there IS still hope lol of finding somewhere you can "semi relax" at the dentist and not have to white knuckle it anymore sitting in the dental chair. One more thing, my daughter was her visiting from Iowa and broke a tooth and we were able to get her in to see someone and they were very good to her as well and she has not had very good experience with dentist the last 10 years or so since she has lupus. So, there is two very happy women with this place.

I have triple coverage with great dental insurances so I never had to a pay a dime out of pocket in my life (I work hard for what I get) for any dental procedure/surgery with my previous dentist whom I was with for 13 years. I decided to transfer to Oak Park because of good ‘word of mouth’ reviews and I agree that the technology at Oak Park is much more advanced and the staff is friendly. The only thing that lacked any knowledge was the billing/insurance staff. During all my 3 visits, I was constantly being pushed to do procedures that were going to cost me hundreds out of pocket. Even for a simple cleaning that is always covered, was I being asked to pay up. They finally convinced me to do a procedure that if I only did half of it, according to the billing staff’s word, would my insurances pay for it in full. The dental hygienist also clarified that half the procedure was not going to cost me anything out of pocket so I agreed to do it. When they were done, I walked up to the desk and the billing staff told me to cough up $200. I was in utter disbelief that they literally scammed me in person. I tried reasoning with them that they had originally told me I wouldn’t owe anything and even the dental hygienist backed that claim, but the staff simply shrugged their shoulders and asked if I wanted to pay in cash or credit. This had also happened the first couple visits, this being the most I was asked to pay. I paid and canceled any and all future appointments with them and refuse to go back because the billing/insurance staff has failed to get their stuff together from every visit since day one and am not convinced they ever will.

Excellent office! Billing experience, facility atmosphere and doctor interaction was all GREAT. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a new dentist. I got in either same day or the next day in May when my jaw began hurting so bad I couldnt open it more than an inch. I saw one doctor that morning and he called in another doctor to look at me once it was determined I needed my wisdom teeth removed. They made me feel very comfortable with the options for anesthesia, as well as the billing procedures and price differences in my options. My dental benefit was less than the cost of my procedure so they laid both my options out clearly so I could decide what would work for me. They even gave me the "New Patient / No Insurance" self-pay exam pricing which was extremely low, in order to preserve what we could of my dental benefit. Also, they gave me a 5% cash payment discount on the difference of the cost of the procedure and the insurance benefit. AMAZING. Im sorry to hear about the disappointments other people have experienced. All I can say is ask questions and dont stop until it makes perfect sense and you are satisfied with the agreement, even if you have to go all the way up to the administrator.

One star because I have to leave at least one. Terrible customer service, high rates, and only out for the money. We have wonderful insurance that makes it so we have never paid for a cleaning or exam. They tried to charge us $190 to clean half of my husbands teeth. Ridiculous! I called ahead to specifically ask if they accept the insurance we have, they said yes. That was a lie, they did not say they would be charging extra due to billing themselves as out of network. Then while trying to get him to pay this $190 up front prior to any cleaning at all and still in the exam chair the hygienist kept tryin to take profile pictures of him and his mouth. He ended up leaving without letting them touch him. I called to inquire on it and the person in the billing department was the opposite of helpful. Not useful in any way and absolutely rude. Will NEVER.go back or recommend this office to anyone. Only in it for the extra money after what they get from your insurance. What happened to joining the medical field to help others?!

Charged me $50 late cancelation after they called me to reschedule twice because my hygienist wasnt going to be in. I couldnt make the appointments THEY reassigned me, so I got charged. Got a random bill in the mail several months later. The dentist who worked on my chipped tooth seemed very incompetent as well. Had to redo the same area 3 times because it wasnt smooth. Finally just said, "Thats how its going to be." I would give one star but the woman over the phone (Linda) was extremely nice and accommodating when I called about the charges. Pending review from her, but overall, not pleased at all. EDIT: No, Im sorry Barbara, the issue wasnt resolved. Your practice is borderline fraudulent and your dentists are horrible.

The office is very warm and friendly. From the minute you walk in the door the front office ladies are there to welcome you with a friendly smile. The assistants are very caring, gentle and made me very confortable when I had my dental implant. Dr. OLeary also talked me threw the whole implant procedure and I felt NO PAIN. The ladies that helped me with the financial part were very caring and helped me find ways to get my dental work done.I will continue to come to Oak Park Dental for years to come. I will continue to refer friends and family to. Thanks OAK PARK!!
