Dr. Stephan, in my opinion is one of the nicest vets I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He is awesome with my "babies" ( four cats) I love how he gives out bandanas to all the animals that he sees. He is compassionate, knows his stuff and always has time to answer any questions I may have. Now here is where the BUT comes in, for some reason (I have no idea why) there have been a few changes. First there is a new lady vet, whom has left such a bad impression that I do not even know her name. She opts for the most expensive treatments and gives contradictory advice to what Dr. Stephan says to do. I would never take any of my animals to her even in an emergency. So if you decide to use this vet stick with Dr. Stephan and you will not be sorry! The second change is how the handle after hour emergencies. Dr. Stephan used to come out but now they request Monday - Friday you call this vet that is in Allentown! That is almost an hour and 45 minutes away and in an emergency that time could count. I am very displeased about that and really wish they would rethink that decision.Saturday and Sunday they request you contact a more local vet, why they do not have this seven days is beyond me. My cat is diabetic and could go into shock and that amount of time could mean life and death in her case. So as I said he is a great vet but there are some downsides to it.

Weve been so fortunate to have been clients of Dr. Steve and his team for almost 14 years. His compassion for pets along with excellent and practical medical advice is the best. Weve dealt with each vet including Dr. Westfall and Dr. Pickett on different occasions and feel so lucky to have such a great resource just minutes away from us. The staff has always been great too! Were always greeted in a friendly manner along with our pets. On those occasions when our pets were close to the end Dr. Steve and the other vets were always willing to accommodate our special requests to make the end as best as possible for our pet. Theyre the best!

I wanted to let you know Flutie is responding very well to the meds and somewhat imposed restriction in activity (he is a beagle after all!). I also wanted to express how pleased we are with your practice. We have seen Dr. Heather a few times and Dr. Stephen once .. and there are not enough words of praise for all of you! The time everyone has taken to make sure Flutie is ok has been humbling and your kindness with Shannon (who loves and knows Flutie best) was wonderful! I have never experienced such compassionate, kind and knowledgeable professionals .. I am spreading the word!

Took my dog and cat to Bernville for one week - what can I say - they stuck my kitty in the carrier - charged me my $$$$$$$$ and when I left him out of the carrier he could not walk. He kept falling over and then was throwing up blood. (Sorry to be so graphic). I then had to take him to an emergency vet to get hydrated and put on IV antibiotics to help him. He was going into kidney failure. If I waited a few more hours he prob. would not still be here. Please think twice before using Bernville Pet Spa. There are a lot better options out there!!!!

For people who call themselves experienced pet caretakers, their services were sadly lacking. One cat was supposed to have medicine twice daily, but was not given it; the other cat was supposed to receive a bath and be combed, but they could not manage this either. Stating they ‘didn’t want to stress them out’ is not reason enough to neglect medical care and basic hygiene for over a week! Never again.

Dr. Westfall resurrected our rescue Digby, a stray senior yorkie found wandering the streets in Reading. Everday with the "Little Man" is a gift, and Dr. Heather is our benefactor. Currently she is helping us through a very difficult time with our greyhound, Katie & keeping our cairn terrier, Emma in tip-top shape! We love her!!!

I would recommend the Bernville Pet Spa to anyone that wants to be sure that their pet is well taken care of. Michelle was great, and I think my dog missed her when I brought him home!

My two labs, Molly and Murphy, were well taken care of for the week that they spent there. I would not hesitate to take them there again. This was Mollys second time and Murphys first.
