We recently had to make the decision to euthanize Peanutman, our beloved 20+ year old cat . This decision required weighing Peanutmans symptoms and pain against hope that he would improve. The young vet, instead of consoling us, admonished us with: "Lateral Recumbency is the sign that you SHOULD have put the cat down sooner". So, while we were still reeling from the doctors admonishion for procrastinating on ending the life of a loved one, the front desk woman came into the room to collect payment, so that we didnt sneak off without paying. We felt that young Doctor might have missed the day at veterinary school that addressed compassion and also possibly missed the lesson on hitting the vein for euthanasia. The result of missing the vein is gasping and convulsing. The word euthanasia is from greek. "Eu" means good and "thanatos", death...Good Death. So, although the vet was successful in ending Peanutmans life, it was not a good death. After Peanutman stopped gasping and jerking, the doctor gave us a box to remove the remains that was so small that we would have had to fold and stuff the cat to put him in it. The experience went from insult to injury. All in all, a plebeian treatment.

After our 2 yr GSHP tore his CCL, we were referred to a local vet to get a TPLO repair. The default repair for an active dog seems to the TPLO repair. The TPLO is expensive (~$5K) and in my opinion risky. My wife and I spent the night reviewing the procedure and decided to get the "tight rope" repair. Lower cost and lower risk made us decide to opt for the "tight rope." You just have to keep the active dog restricted in mobility. We found the HAH on the web and visited Dr Fink and his staff. Immediately, my wife was impressed, and we decided to have him perform the CCL surgery. The drive was a little further, but well worth the time. The CCL repair was a great success. The HAH staff was very professional. In fact, our GSHP tore his other CCL 11-months later, and we had him right back at HAH for the repair surgery. The results were identical. My wife and I highly recommend Dr Fink and his staff at HAH for any vet needs.

My dog Roxys eyes were red and swollen. I had taken her to the emergency vet and they had given me eye drops to administer. They had no idea of what was wrong with her eyes. I took her to Dr. Fink at the Hilton Animal Hospital and he hadnt seen this condition before, it turned out to be very rare . He began to research the condition and talk to a specialist about the issue. At one point, I thought that my Roxy was going to lose one or both of her eyes. Dr. Fink prepared a regime of care which included meds, eye cream and drops. If It werent for Dr. Finks diligence and caring about Roxy she would not be the happy fur baby she is today, free of any eye problems. I feel no other doctor would have taken the time and extra effort that Dr. Fink took, he sincerely cared about Roxy. I Highly recommend Dr. Fink if you want your animals to have the best of care. Also, Dr. Finks staff are always very nice.

I was referred by a friend to Hilton Animal Hospital in August of 2015 because I had expressed to her that I was displeased with my current veterinarian. I decided to give Hilton Animal Hospital a try. I am so happy we made the switch. We have been extremely pleased with them. The staff is welcoming and friendly. The facility is clean and stress-free. Dr. Bentley Richards is an absolute God-send! She consistently provides my dog, Pippi with competent and compassionate care. I highly recommend Hilton Animal Hospital and Dr. Bentley Richards to pet lovers who desire the best for their animal family members. My husband, Pippi, and I love, love, love Dr. Richards.

Dr. Fink has been Rooks primary doctor since he was 9 weeks old. Rook is a very healthy and happy 75lb goldendoodle who, if I let him, would pull on his leash to get into Hilton Animal Hospital. He has never had a bad experience and trusts the staff and Dr. Fink as much as I do if not more. Dr. Fink never rushes and answers questions completely and understandably. On the three occasions we had emergencies, Dr. Fink triaged Rook taking him in place of pets there for regular visits. Two of these occasions required lab work and one required an x ray. He is a pet advocate and not afraid to tell an owner if they are doing something wrong. I highly recommend him.

Great place! We have been to a couple of places in Smithfield. Both places did not seem to have a passion for the animals. At Hilton Animal Hospital you and your pet are always greeted friendly. They truly do love animals. Our first visit was an emergency. Our lab swallowed something and needed surgery. The vets were both very helpful and straight forward with their care plan and pricing. At the end of the day we took our baby home for the night and were given the vets cell phone number in case we had any issues. We did not but the gesture went a long way. Our pets will be patients for life!

After getting a new family member from the SPCA, we were recommended to the Hilton Animal Hospital as a good, local vet who cared. Wow, they were right!! HAH treats our dog as if he were one of their own. Theyve seen Pip through yearly shots, some beauty treatments, and the odd emergency ... also known as I cant believe he ate that, what do i do? His staff are incredibly helpful. Theyve even dealt with a panic attack (mine) over the phone w/calm humor. HAH has become a part of our family and I cant recommend them highly enough. Give them a try. You and your furried friend wont regret it.

Dr Fink took care of both my GSDs. On the last visit there, my female GSD barked at another dog coming in the door. Dr Fink said it was "inappropriate". Done. Dogs bark, that is what dogs do. It wasnt an aggressive bark. She was leashed, in my control. You dont like my dog, I dont like you. Never again will I go there. I found a great vet at Colony Animal Hospital. On a post note, I saw another vet at Hilton, complain about the dog she was getting ready to operate on. Later I saw on FB, a post and picture, that said how wonderful and sweet the dog was, if they only knew.

I absolutely love taking my kitten Boo Meow to this vet clinic for his visits!!! The staff is so awesome and friendly! Dr. Fink and Dr. Perry are super personable and provide great advice in regards to kitten development and what to expect. The love the staff provides for Boo during his visits is synonymous with the love my family and I give to him at home. I would highly recommend this vet clinic to anyone especially new pet owners like myself! Thank you so much you guys! I look forward to bringing Boo in for his next wellness check!
