I am here to second the review posted by Anthony S. I, too, brought my cat in for a surgery. When I moved to Lancaster Dr. Lewis seemed eager to schedule my cats necessary tooth extraction. He said he felt confident he could do it in 15 minutes, and despite my offer to pay for more time since his rates were so low (like ouncer111 says), he said he wouldnt be comfortable charging for extra time unless it was needed. We scheduled the extraction for pet dental month to get an additional discount since we were broke from long term unemployment on Long Island during the recession. On the day of the extraction we brought my cat, traumatized from fasting for the dental procedure, to the clinic. We waited anxiously to hear about the extraction since my cat was elderly and had been suffering from severe mouth pain due to chronic gingivitis stomatitis, as disclosed to Dr. Lewis. At around 1 pm, we received a call that we expected to be about my cats recovery, and were instead informed that the doctor had decided not to go ahead with the procedure. He said a thorough examination indicated my cats teeth were healthy and would be difficult to remove, and referred us to a specialist whose work we had researched prior to moving to the area but could not afford. That specialist told us it would be a minimum of $800 to 1000 to do the prodedure and we began saving, deferring our purchase of a vehicle to care for our beloved cat. Since we were saving, we didnt get the antibiotic that had been prescribed monthly for the maintenance of our cats severe flare ups, in the hope we could afford his extraction ASAP. In June, he had a flare up too intense to ignore, and when I called to pick up the antibiotic, the vet said it had been more than 6 months since he saw our cat. In fact, the cat was seen on February 2nd, less than 5 months earlier, when the vet declined to do the scheduled extraction due to the results of his examination of our cats teeth. When I asked the vet to give us the antibiotics as prescribed and schedule an appointment for the end of July at the 6 month period for recheck like he said, I was given multiple excuses why he couldnt do it at this time. Bottom line is this vet cares more about profit than about the well being of his patients, and has multiple instances of having pets fasted and stressed and prepped for surgery and then cancelling same day due to disorganization, and then negligence in the treatment of pets when they are rescheduled. We wont be going back to this vet and would recommend you find other veterinarians in the area and avoid this clinic at all costs.

To all rabbit owners planning on spaying/neutering their rabbits, ***PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR RABBIT TO GET FIXED HERE***. I brought my rabbit for a spay at the Lincoln Highway Veterinary Clinic, and all my experiences there have been BAD. On the day of my rabbits spay, I received a phone call from them an hour and half after I dropped my rabbit off, telling me that the sedative they had was expired. They were UNPREPARED for the surgery, and did not have anything set up for her spay operation. She was there for almost two hours, afraid for no reason in her carrier, because they were unaware that their SEDATIVE WAS EXPIRED. I was naive enough to trust them a second time when I rescheduled the spay for the following day instead, so that they could order a new sedative. After my rabbit was spayed, I received a call from the vet technician who informed me that as they were shaving my rabbits belly fur before surgery, they SHAVED/CUT A PIECE OF MY RABBITS SKIN OFF. The vet technician used skin glue to reattach the rabbits skin. Of all people, they should know how sensitive a rabbits skin can be, and they were completely CARELESS about it. My rabbit has been recovering from the surgery incision, and this CUT that seems like it will not heal. She has been in so much pain. Along with that, I was told prior to the surgery that nail trims were included with the surgery to prevent the rabbit from cutting/scratching the wound. They had also listed on the incidence report that the nail trim was done. When I got home, I checked her nails and they NEVER EVEN CUT MY RABBITS NAILS. Not only did they forget to do so, they decided to list on the report that they did. They LIED. Again, THEY ARE CARELESS AND UNPROFESSIONAL. I have been watching my rabbits wound from the cut that the vet technician gave her, and it has been getting worse. The wound is deep, and I am not sure how well it will heal. I would never recommend this veterinary clinic to ANY RABBIT OR PET. No pet should go through what my rabbit went through. If I could give the Lincoln Highway Veterinary Clinic ZERO STARS or even NEGATIVE STARS, I would. But Google forces me to give at least one star to post this review. I cannot stress this enough, DO NOT BRING YOUR RABBITS TO THE LINCOLN HIGHWAY VETERINARY CLINIC TO GET SPAYED/NEUTERED. I pray that no rabbit will ever encounter such a horrible place.

I cant believe that anyone would not go to Dr. Lewis. He has taken care of our animals for years! He is kind and compassionate. He always has great staff. We were heartbroken that we had to take our pets else where when he moved. We were thrilled when he came back. We immediately switched back to him. He is also inexpensive. The review a year ago from the lady unable or unwilling to pay for the treatment her cat needed...She didnt get the antibiotics she was told to get because it was too expensive. By the time she was willing to do something it cost too much. How is that the Vets fault? You WILL NOT find a cheaper vet in this county. I realize that people have other bills, but no one should think having a pet is cheap. I think you really have to think long term when you get a pet. Decide how committed you are to their care. The negative reviews really baffle me.

We had an appointment last night for the first time and we were so satisfied! You can really tell that they love the animals and want nothing but the best for them! They are very attentive and very nice! I have nothing but praises for them and how they conduct their business! I would also like to add that, after reading other comments, that no, they care more about the animals, then the money, hence again why we are going to continue taking our pets there, because they care about the animals. We did not have an experience like the two others on this review page. I would definitely recommend this vet above any other others out there! If you really care about your pet/s, you will take them to Lincoln Highway Veterinary Clinic.

Ive been reading the reviews and Im unsure why everyone feels that this clinic is out for profit. Ive been taking my dog here for roughly a year and have never experienced any type of problems. I find Dr.Lewis to be very enthusiastic and knowledgeable when treating my pet. Before I moved to the area my old vet wanted to do surgery on my dog to remove a lump, which I thought was a bad idea since she was 14 at the time. Dr. Lewis agreed this could be a bad idea due to her age and that the recovery could be difficult on her, shes now almost 16. I would recommend this clinic, Ive had a positive experience every time and feel that my dog is getting quality care. Weve had everything done from routine check ups, shots and even a x-ray.
