I am writing this review in hopes that no one else will ever have to experience what I did at this animal hospital. This was by far the worst vet experience I have ever had in my entire life. Having worked at a vet previously, the way this office is ran is beyond me. I took my 19 year old cat in on a Saturday. I was asked to be there at 10:30am. After waiting in the waiting room for over an hour with my 19 year old cat, I was finally pulled into a room. We were seen by Dr. Collins, who was no where near professional. After observing my cat, taking his temperature, we were diagnosed, had blood drawn for further testing, and sent home with pain meds and a new supplement. So the following Tuesday I called to see what the blood work said. I called at 10am, and was informed by the receptionist that the doctor wanted to see me, with my cat, at 2pm so they could give him fluids because "something is wrong with his kidneys". 4 anxiety ridden hours later I show up 15 minutes early with my cat as instructed. After waiting an hour in the waiting room I asked to be put into a room as more and more dogs were coming in and I could feel my cat beginning to really stress. After being moved into a room we waited ANOTHER hour. Finally, Dr. Collins comes into the room thumbing through records in his hand, he takes my cats record, literally slings it across the room onto the counter, mumbles a bunch of words under his breath, and walks out of the room and leaves me waiting for another 10 minutes. Finally he comes back in, starts thumbing through the record looking for the blood work. After he finds it, its obvious that he is reading this blood work synopsis for the first time right there in front of me. He is stumbling through his words, bouncing all over the place. I worked at a vet and I cant keep up with what this man is saying. He then looks at me and says "Why did you bring your cat?". Im sorry what? I informed him I was instructed to, to which he followed up with "Who told you to bring him? And why?" Again, Im sorry but WHAT? He then informs me that he could have given me these results over the phone, and that they would not be giving my cat fluids that day because it was too late in the day. No kidding...Ive only been there for almost 3 hours. He then tells me he is going to go "write me some scripts" and he will be back. He didnt tell me what they were for, what theyre names were, what they would do, nothing. At this point I picked up my cat, walked out, and took him to Banfield. I would NEVER take my pet to this hospital. Dr. Collins is unprofessional at best, scatter brained, unclear, did I mention unprofessional? All in all I stressed my 19 year old cat out on what was one of his final days, all because of a lack of communication that was totally avoidable had the front office communicated clearly with the doctor, or vise versa. Save yourself the time and anxiety and take your pet anywhere else. I wish I would have.

After spending $544 for labs excessive charges, such as items needed to preform work ups, over charges for x rays, and an ailing dog; the Dr gave my Dog pepcid, could not say what was wrong and sent me home with my suffereing pet.. Labs came back and I was told liver levels were high, and that their was billirubin in my dogs urine. I was told she needed surgery. The dr also picked at a small wart like cyst that the Dr. tried to pick off because to him it looked like a tick. Thus it made it worse. I took my dog to a different vet and to my suprise, I was told that the labs run by Freed, and the billirubin found in her pee was completely normal, and that most certainly dogs do have a bit of billirubin in their pee. Also the xrays Freed Clinic took revealed the trouble with my dog was having. Her cecum was clearly full of gas, which can be terribly painful. It took another vet to find this out and 544 dollars later plus the new charges for the new vet. Also the only way Freed takes a pee sample is with a needle. They will charge you for it too. Also just recently a neighbor had an emergency situtation in which her dog had stopped breathing. Freed was the closest vet. When the poor doggy was brought in, Dr Kutzer was cold as ice saying the dog was dead. Sorry! I know because I was there and had preformed cpr until we arrived.

The doctors here I could tell love what they do. Not only were they kind and loving to my dog but also super personable with me and my young kids as well. My dog was very old and I ended up having to put her down. I did not feel like they judged me for my decision at all. They were very empathetic and very helpful through the heart wrenching process. Some of the tests I had to run on my dog were about what Id pay anywhere else. They recommended xrays and other tests but I decided to wait for the results from the blood test first. I could have paid a lot but the front desk staff was very helpful and informing me that I get to decide which tests or xrays should be done and not to just do everything the doctor recommends. I respect their honesty and love for people and their pets. Thank you to all the doctors and staff at Freed for helping me set my sweet old girl free.

Dr. Cain is wonderful. My 13 yr. old girl came in because she was having a hard time getting up. She drew blood and checked her for arthritis. A big snow storm came in that night so the labs coming back were delayed. Dr. Cain called us twice at home the day after the storm checking on our dog! I was totally impressed that she did that! As soon as she got the labs, she personally called us to tell us our baby needed surgery for a severe infection. She took wonderful care of her and showed genuine concern. The 2 women at the front desk were very personable. I read the past reviews and maybe these women are different because they were very kind and efficient in taking care of discharging our dog and general conversation. We never had to wait.

When I took my dog there the front staff was polite but the vet that saw my dog just rushed through examining him. Now when I went it was without an appointment but if there is going to be rushing then there shouldnt be the open window for people to go without an appointment. When the vet was done "examining" my dog he wanted to do a bunch of tests done and when he gave me the estimate I asked if he could explain it to my fiance over the phone and he just started to get very rude and started rushing through the rest. While he was writing down what I could do before getting the test done he just kept sighing and made me really uncomfortable. By the end I just wanted to pay and get out of there. I will not take my dog back.
