Be cautious to make them stick to the original quote! Twice now that amount was completely ignored at the payment counter. By a large margin. Talented doctor and tech staff. Quite pleasant and highly capable besides the receptionist, with me at least. Perhaps I just caught her on another bad day? I justified paying a rate higher than many other avenues for a basic contact prescription. The original $125 quote grew to over 200, right off the bat, when I walked out to pay . A bland "extra work was required" was all the expressionless receptionist would offer for why. I was never notified of our original agreement changing. Auto service centers have no problem letting a customer know if extra expenses will incur. No one would even hear me out, even the owner. Months later this week, I was charged another $70, on a follow up visit to check out the fit. for a final written copy, on the same basic contact prescription exam. I originally was quoted for @$125. I hear the extra work "again. Same blank expression and deaf ears to my shock. I finally made a stink and eventually the owner called me today and offered to return the latest $70, but the staff is highly upset with me. The end of a few years of business. Once again on the phone, the owner herself refused to acknowledge, that a customer should be informed of charges beyond the original quote, before the work is performed. Its a roll of the dice having any idea what the business chooses to charge. The basic $125 exam quote we agreed on, grew to the $300+ range with no forewarning or detailed explanation why. That is unacceptable.

The staff that work here are fantastic and the office is very nice but...I should have done my research first an eye exam here cost a little more than double any other price I found afterward. Thankfully I did not fall for spending $259 for glasses that were about exactly the same as I purchased for $93. I am all for supporting small, local businesses even if it is a little extra sometimes. This was a little too much.
