Worst eye doctor experience of my life. Where do I start. The man I saw was very unfriendly and not personable. I hadnt been to an eye doctor for 5 years because I had been severely ill for several years and had 2 serious surgeries after barely making it. My eyes had changed a lot. An eye exam was obviously low on the priority list. I finally got to it. The doctor said "Its almost like youre wearing someone elses prescription...". I said I could get a record that it was mine from my previous eye doc. I felt like it was being implied that I was wearing someone elses glasses. I then went to pick out frames, and asked where the ones were that my insurance covered 100% (the whole reason I went there). I was taken into an office in the hall (not in the main area with all the other frames), and the lady helping with the frames pulled a pair off the kiosk and handed them to me. When I said I hadnt picked out frames in 5 years and wanted to see the other ones too, she acted quite put out, like I was just supposed to accept what she handed to me and she was busy. Flustered, I spun the kiosk a couple times while she impatiently waited, pulling a couple pairs off and putting them back. I decided to keep the ones she handed me and went out into the main area to order the lenses and get the frames adjusted. She didnt even know how to handle the fact that I needed low profile bifocals and had to ask a second lady in the frames area who obviously worked there longer. (I thought, just my luck - I wish I had gotten the other lady.) She didnt adjust the frames right for me, and when I asked her to keep adjusting them she said "I dont know what you want me to do." Really? Adjust them right? Getting upset, I said "Its fine, Ill try to work with them." (I then had to come back in a week and get them readjusted again because the adjustment was so poor. I had to drive 1 hour 20 minutes round trip to get there.) When I checked out, they wanted to schedule me for a year followup, and I specifically told them NO, my insurance only covers once every 2 years. "Well we recommend yearly." They were openly laughing and joking behind the desk with each other and it made me feel like they werent paying attention to me. It presented a very unprofessional appearance at a front desk. Then in a year I got a phone call saying "This is Lakewood Vision calling to remind you of your appointment on..." I called back and said, "I didnt make an appointment!! And I wouldnt because I work that day." The lady on the phone didnt seem to believe me, I could hear it in her voice. So what they did was even though I told them NO the day I was there, they went ahead and made an appointment for me anyway for a year recall without my permission, just picking a day and time and booking it!! Then, in that same phone call, I told the lady I hadnt cared for the man who saw me and I wanted to see the other doctor the next time, the blond lady. (I had looked on the internet to see if there were other doctors, so thats how I knew she was blond.) The staff member actually LAUGHED at me on the phone and said, "You want to see her because shes BLOND?" Hahaha. Uh, NO, I looked on the internet and thats how I identified her? OK, well put you in for next year (when my insurance covers it, which is what I told them in the first place when I first went there). VERY unprofessional and it made me feel VERY upset to be laughed AT over the phone. Then, to add insult to injury, I got ANOTHER phone call reminder saying "We wanted to call you & remind you youre now due for your eye exam and to schedule it." Uh, HELLO again? Really? Why would you be calling me AGAIN for a 1-year appointment when we went through all this? At that point I blocked their phone number. Ill never go back again. Going to find another place thats more professional and treats their patients with respect, gives them time and doesnt laugh at them. Ive never had the experience I had there in any other professional office in my life.

Used car dealer of eye exams. Poor service long long waits. Girlfriend had eye exam 6 months ago went back today they told her that her prescription was wrong. Male doctor said its not his fault that someone gave you the wrong prescription.... Now keep in mind that it was lakeside that supposedly gave the wrong prescription in the first place. No attempt by lakeside vision to fix there mistake or take responsibility. I have been in there myself and each time it felt like a high pressure sales pitch. They tell you that you need this test and that test then charge you for it. Theyll tell you eye pressure is too high so they can run more tests. I was told my pressure was high went someplace else the next day and was told I have no problems with my eye pressure and that mine was well within normal limits. Buyer beware. It the place looks fancy with all the high tech equipment but Id trust Walmart before I would trust these con artists.

I went to Lakeside vision because of aching eye and headachs. Dr Amy and the entire staff were exceptional. They used all the latest high tech equipment for testing. Analyized what I needed. I followed instructions and my eye is 100% better, no more headaches, needed a new perscription and I can see again. Once my dry eye was under control I asked about contact lenses. Once again great experience. They teach you how to put them in and take them out. They wont let you leave with them until you can do it on your own at least 3 times quickly. They were so patient with me as a new wearer of contacts. Then I sat with Kathy, the optician, who aided me in ordering them and even helped me get a rebate from the manufacturer. Overall a wonderful experience. The entire staff is super friendly and they show that they care about their patients. I would highly recommend them.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!! I called for an appointment, I believed something might have gone in my eye. Told them Im paying out-of-pocket so no insurance. Okay So I got an appointment for the next day. "I just want someone to look in my eye and check that everythings okay " I saw the optometrist, she looked in my eyes said looks a little dry. She told me to get some eyedrops & sent me on my way. So I went to the counter to pay my bill and surprise! $220 for a 10 minute visit. I asked why so much? the girl at the counter says "oh you came in for an emergency procedure". Christ really? I didnt know it was an emergency. I Thought it was a basic appointment. Who makes $1,320 an hour!!!!! Avoid this place.
