I HIGHLY recommend Hershey Dental Care. I have high standards for my health/dental care and that of my family. After be patients of one of the largest dental offices in the area for 20 yr, our family was tired of having to see a different dentist practically every time we went in. We could tell that they were hiring new and inexperienced dentists, and we were not pleased with our dental care. This isnt the case at Hershey Dental Care. I went in first, to see if I thought their dental care would live up to my standards. Im VERY pleased to say that they have exceeded my standards, and all of my family feel the same way! Ive found the office and dental care staff quite friendly and professional. Also, I have a serious TMJ disorder, and the hygienists and dentist take the utmost care in making sure that they dont aggravate my condition. Recently, I went in to have a chipped tooth veneered. I had delayed this procedure for 1.5 yr, since I thought it would be a painful and drawn-out "ordeal." However, I couldnt have been more wrong. It was made incredibly easy and painless! The technology that the dentist has in the office is amazing! I had everything done in ONE visit! If you havent already watched the CEREC video-clip, I highly recommend you do. My teeth were easily scanned, so I didnt have to endure the jaw pain and gagging of impressions. The scanner gives the dentist a complete computerized/digital picture of all the the teeth, and the new tooth is then designed right there in the office! The dentist even allowed me to watch my new tooth being created in the VERY technologically advanced machine you see in the video clip! I was in and out in no time! As for my new tooth... I LOVE IT! He couldnt have designed it better. In fact (I never thought Id say this), but Ive already scheduled an appointment to have three more of my teeth redone. I have old, discolored bonding on my front teeth. Now that I know that this is a painless procedure, Im not reluctant to have it done. I NEVER would have considered having these other teeth fixed under any other circumstances. I just cant say enough about the technology they have at their fingertips. I highly recommend Hershey Dental Care as well as the CEREC procedure they offer. Ill write another review after I have the other three teeth done, to let you know if I have the same wonderful experience.

The only problem with this rating system is that it does not provide for more than five stars. On my first appointment at Hershey Dental, I knew immediately that this would be a different experience--I was handed an iPad to complete my registration. Very impressive use of technology! It had been several years since I had been to the dentist because of insurance issues, but they accepted my plan. My first pleasant surprise was getting my teeth x-rayed. Normally, you have this device shoved in your mouth with film every which way. The machine at Hershey Dental simply entails you biting down on a small piece of plastic with you standing up and the xray "camera" revolves around YOU. Awesome! The dental assistants, the hygienists and the front desk staff were superlative providing an excellent customer service experience. As for Dr. Patel, he couldnt have been more welcoming and professional. He thoroughly explained all I needed to know relative to my dental health. I highly recommend this practice. As a side note, my son took my granddaughter, who is very shy, to Dr. Patel at the age of three. My expectations for the visit were not positive. The exact opposite happened. His staff made her feel very comfortable and she was very happy! And I also want to point out that they are one of the very few practices in the area which accepts MA patients i.e. the poor and the working poor. Thank you, Dr. Patel, for doing this. The community owes you a debt of gratitude for providing this very needed service.

The dentist was always something I dreaded. I would leave a cleaning with swollen and bloody gums (even thought I brush and floss 3 times a day). My husband changed to your office and was telling me how wonderful you guys were so I decided to switch. I was impressed with the use of the iPad for the new patient forms. The receptionist didnt just had me the iPad either. She asked if I was comfortable with it. Small things like that matter. You called me back for my cleaning right on time which was lovely too. During my cleaning, my dental hygienist was very sweet and informative. As a teacher, I love to learn new things. She was telling me all about proper brushing techniques and how you can transfer bacteria if you dont wipe off your floss. I like that. She was so soft with my teeth too. I couldnt believe that I left a cleaning without any gum pain from the hygienist hacking away. The flat screen tvs are wonderful to keep your mind off of the fact that you are at the dentist. That will be very helpful when my soon is old enough to go to the dentist. Unfortunately, I needed 5 fillings (oops) but your office was able to get me in 2 days later to fill all 5 of them. I really appreciate you remembering me, and calling me when there was cancelation. I think its a great idea to put future appointments on the little stickers. It makes it convenient to stick it right into your calendar. Thank you for the great cleaning. I hope you have a wonderful day.

Can I give negative stars? My child needed ONE tooth pulled. We were about 45 minutes into TRYING to get this tooth pulled. The female, Im not sure of her name kept telling my son if it doesnt hurt stop crying. 45 MINUTES TO PULL A BABY TOOTH AND YOU ARE TELLING MY SON TO STOP CRYING. I would imagine the assistant could see my anger level rising, and proceeded to get "Dr. Patel". He introduced himself, and 30 SECONDS LATER my sons ONE tooth was pulled. He tried to tell me my son would be a sedation patient if there were any future pullings. I followed with "Maybe if she was as fast as you and he didnt have to sit through 45 MINUTES.." AND HE WALKED AWAY IN THE MIDDLE OF MY SENTENCE. Not to mention we were there so long the OFFICE WAS CLOSED. The only reassurance I got was the assistant apologizing that my child and myself had to go through that. NEVER AGAIN WILL I RETURN nor would I recommend this dentist to anyone.

Update: I received a voicemail from the doctor himself threatening me with calling his attourney after he read my review. This dentist office discriminates against disabled people! If you have to cancel an appointment because you are disabled and cannot make it they WILL NOT work with you. They will charge you an outrageous no show fee and then you will just have to find another dentist. The office staff is very rude and disrespectful. I was told "its not our fault you couldnt make your appointment, its yours", this is what they told me after I let them know about my disability. Which I actually told them numerous times, including the time that I had to cancel the appointment, which was the day of and not 2 days in advance as they require. If you are looking for a dentist office that is friendly and understanding, this is not the office for you!
