I had broken a tooth, and needed to get an emergency repair done on it. Tidewater did their fancy tests and confirmed that I needed a root canal, and they possibly would have to pull the tooth entirely. I paid several hundred dollars in full for the appointment about a week or two in advance. I had been sick as a dog all weekend long leading up to the appointment with a stomach virus. I was weak and hadnt had the appetite eat a single meal for several days. I was not comfortable with being sedated under the symptoms and conditions I was just starting to get over as the appointment approached. I unfortunately had to cancel the day before, as a safe precaution for my health... I called them, and asked for a refund. They told me that it wouldnt be a problem. I just called again (a few days later) after not seeing anything show up in my bank account. They told me that it was coming in the form of a check. But heres where I got screwed: "we can only refund about half of your payments, the $XXX.XX was to hold the appointment and we require two days in advance for all cancellations." Were talking $350.00. So, Tidewater Dental, you mean to tell me that since I was sick and didnt want to complicate my health being heavily sedated for my procedure the next day, you wont refund my full payment? As if you didnt get enough money from my insurance company! I knew I was going to get screwed somehow, and the moment finally arrived. To summarize my review, there are more wallet-friendly and more understanding options in this county.

I came to Tidewater to have a tooth that was bothering my gums taken care of. I regularly go to the dentist, and rarely have any teeth issues. My normal dentists hours are not convenient, so I considered changing offices. I chose this practice since they are open later than my current dentist, and I saw them at Anne Marie Gardens. When I arrived (early), I had a long wait. Once I was seen by the dentist, he offered to chisel down the pointed tooth and he said that it would solve my problem. When I was checking out, the receptionist was very rude and told me I didnt understand my insurance and nothing is free. I have very good dental insurance! Then I found out that what the dentist/office failed to do, was to tell me that my insurance would not cover the procedure before, or after, they actually did the filing! I WILL NEVER come back, nor recommend this office! Bad customer service, bad service in general, and lack of knowledge to share with your patients. Ill find another new practice in the Prince Frederick area!

Tidewater Dental of Prince Frederick is the BEST dental office this side of the Mississippi!!! I refer all of my family, friends, and even new acquaintances to them. All of the front office and hygiene staff are nice and very helpful, and Dr. B is definately the best dentist Ive been to in my 43 years alive. The office manager explained everything to me (procedure, insurance, payment, etc...) in a way that a non medical professional could understand easily, and to top it all off, she is smoking hot!!! Id give them more than 5 stars if this site allowed me too. They make going to the dentist a great experience. Even my children are excited to go to the dentist now, which makes me a very happy father and lifelong customer of Tidewater Dental! If you dont leave your dentist office feeling like I do, then you need to stop going their and start going to Tidewater Dental of Prince Frederick!!! You wont regret it!

They are all about gouging those who dont have insurance and give insurance customers a lower rate on work performed. If you dont have insurance and are paying cash at time of service, they are going to charge you the highest amount possible. DO NOT USE!!!! No compassion, all about the money! Also, extremely difficult to understand some of the employees due to very strong accents.

The new location is very convenient and so close! This facility looks great, I am very impressed with the detail they put into it, especially the waiting room. It is a warm atmosphere. I highly recommend their service, they produce outstanding results!
