If you love your pet do not bring them to this place. Mayority of the vets are inexperienced, they want to try everything under the sun to see what works and what doesnt. Having my dog hospitalized for 3 days costs me over $3000. My dog left the hospital having to take 4 medications every 8 hours. She went for a follow up appointment 12 days later and they ran X-rays which showed a heavy amount of fluid in her lungs and they Discharged her (stay away from Dr. Steinmeyer). My pet died 1 hour after she was examined and discharged. She stopped breathing from all the fluid in her lungs and suffered as she tried to grasp for air. Although the support staff of very nice, the vets are not experienced and the pricing is ridiculous. They need to hire experienced staff. My dog died in my arms as my husband was driving her back to this clinic and as she tried to grasp for air (her tongue was completely blue). Holding on to hope that she could be brought back we had the doctors attempt CPR but to no avail . after pronouncing her dead, the staff had the nerve to suggest a euthanasia. We also got billed almost 200 dollars for the failed CPR and a 38 dollar examination fee ( what is there to examine for a dead pet ?). This was a very sad and frustrating day. I would not recommend this hospital.

We adopted a 3 month mix from a local rescue. Our first visit, we mentioned he was coughing and immediately the vet suggested we get him in to do a lung biopsy. We had this dog for maybe 2 days and she already wanted to put him under and do a biopsy on his lungs which ultimately would have cost us over 600$. I had to fight to just start him on a prescription first because I refused to do surgery on a puppy we only adopted 2 days ago. His lung infection cleared up within the week. The vet was extremely pushy and we felt like she was guilt tripping us into the surgery. I dont believe she was looking out for our dog but just trying to squeeze more money out of us. I am never going back.

Do not take your pet here! I brought my cat in because she was throwing up uncontrollably. They charged me over $700 for all kinds of tests to see what the problem was. After hearing absolutely nothing for 12 hours, I came in to see what was going on. They told me that after doing over $700 in tests they still didnt know what was wrong. Absolutely no diagnosis at all. Then they have the nerve to bill me for an additional $150! They are out of their mind. If you want to charge people that, thats fine but you better dang well be able to tell them what is wrong with their pet after spending $1k. This place is a TOTAL rip off!! Stay AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!

I brought my 7 mo. Old puppy in for an emergency visit who was extremely ill , vomiting and overly dehydrated. They ran test and gave her a fluid injection, and an x-ray, they told us it was just an upset stomach and sent us on our way. She was continually throwing up and refusing to drink any water after our visit so we called our primary vet for an emergency appointment, who told us she had an obstruction and had to get immediate surgery. If I didnt follow up with our primary doctor she could have had serious damage or even worse. I do not recommend bringing any animal to this place just to tell you nothing is wrong and send you on your way!

After two years of taking my doggie here I will not be coming back. They ARE absolutely pushy about running tests and each one will cost you and arm and a leg. Each visit has cost me hundreds, even when its a check-up, but emergencies hurt double when your best friend is sick and the vet is manipulating with bogus assessments of the severity of the illness. The absolute worst is how, despite all their insistence on my dogs illnesses, ALL test ALWAYS come out looking good and their default response is to do EVEN MORE tests.... This place really needs to check their ethical behavior!!! DO NOT GO HERE!

I had an outstanding experience here at 5 oclock on a Sunday morning. My yellow lab seemed to have something lodged in his throat. I called ahead and was received with warm patience and concern. I rushed my dog there and found the veterinarian as well as the receptionist and vet techs to be kind helpful and knowledgeable. In addition, while emergency veterinary care is notoriously expensive, I found my trip to GVH very affordable considering the invalable service they provided me with. I have paid more and been treated poorly elswhere.

I have been going to Gwynedd for many many years. My mom also takes her dog there and loves Gwynedd as well. Dr. Olson performed a minor surgery on my cat. When I went to pick up my cat later that night, the receptionist Michelle told me Dr. Olson sat there for an hour holding and petting my cat after he woke up from the anesthesia. That meant the world to me!! My cat has been very ill and is extremely skittish and scared. I cannot appreciate enough the level of compassion and care Dr. Olson has been giving my cat.

We took my dog in about a year ago on the recommendation of a family friend for FHO surgery. We saw Dr. Rogatz who has to be the most caring, professional and knowledgeable vet ive ever met. You could tell that not only was he very very knowledgeable but that he genuinely cared about our dogs well-being. Dr. Rogatz did phone follow-ups with us for months afterwards, you dont even get that kind of care from people doctors! I absolutely recommend Gwyned and especially Dr. Rogatz, they are worth every penny!!!!!!

To call Gwynedd Vet Hospital expensive is an understatement. They offer a lot of state of the art services and can provide exceptional care. However, If you have a very sick animal that will need to be hospitalized for a few days it will cost thousands of dollars. I paid about $1000 per day and had to put my dog to sleep after 4 days. We ran every test, paid for every test, but never had an accurate diagnosis. They are an emergency hospital and I would only take my animals there under dire circumstances.

Never go here unless you have loads of money to spare. The vets here are EXTREMELY INEXPERIENCED. They diagnose your pet with everything because they really do not know what the underlying issue is. They are basically looking to drain you out of your $$. Having had pets for my whole life, I know a lot about animal illnesses. I went here when everything else was closed, and could not believe how unknowledgeable these doctors were. It was a complete waste of my money and time!!!

Gwynedd Vet is expensive, but well worth the money if you love your pet and can afford to pay for the best care possible. One of my dogs had a terrible habit of swallowing dangerous things when he was a puppy (a battery, pieces of glass, etc.). The vets at Gwynedd and the staff were caring, calm, and cautious with my babys health. I am happy to report that he is doing fine and made it through the scary puppy years!
