My experience in here has been a traumatizing one. While in the adolescent mental health unit (4 North) the people around me who are struggling have been called drug addicts in front of everyone bluntly told them they needed rehab without consulting anyone just saying it because they can, and everyone has been told we are dangerous people. I myself signed myself in to learn coping skills and talk to educated people and have my meds adjusted, not to have someone tell me i needed to express exactly what sent me here in front of every other person in the room including children of only about six years old. I wasnt about to express my self harm and suicide attempt to someone who cant even comprehend it, and could potentially be traumatizing. Even arguing with a staff member can have you in room restriction or seclusion where you are locked in a cement room. Now let me ask everyone does this sound the slightest humane? And forget about it if you need things before your parents come to visit, your limited to one phone call a day unless youve been there longer where you get two where at most are usually a little less then five minutes long and only allowed at very restrictive times. Im not even going to mention the food this expeirience has left me traumatized and even more depressed when i came in

I have never been more impressed with a hospital than I was with Latrobe. Im not a fan of hospitals because of the way my Mother was treatedThe care that Latrobe Hospital gave to my 89 year old Mother was outstanding! On the days I couldnt drive in from Pittsburgh, every nurse I spoke with took their time to explain what was going on and how my Mom was doing and I was never made to feel like an inconvenience or that I was bothering them. Ive been to many hospitals for both my Mother and myself and have never seen such a wonderful group of people. These are the ones that I personally dealt with on the 4th floor cardiac department: RNS: Tammy, Brittany and Ashley, Doctors Putnam, Govora, Carpenter and McGaughran and Technical Partner Dee. You all are amazing. Latrobe Hospital and your patients are so lucky to have you. I cant thank you enough for taking such great care of my Mom!! I never met the night RNS Rachel and Nancy or Jess, the night Technical Partner but thank you also for the care you showed my Mom THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!

My Wife and I moved to LATROBE from CORRY, PA. We were EXPECTING Our 1st Child & WE were so EXCITED about it. We wanted to Go & take LAMAZE Classes at LATROBE HOSPITAL, but there was a MAJOR PROBLEM. The Head Nurse in Charge LOOKED DOWN on us bc My Wife was on MEDICAL ASSISTANCE. I was just HIRED at WQTW Radio & I DIDNT have any Medical Coverage. This NURSE (WHOS NAME WE DONT KNOW) wasnt going to take ANY JOY from MY WIFE about OUR Newest Addition. If she was the BEST on that floor, then WERE GLAD that "HOLLIE" was Born at "MAGEE WOMANS HOSPITAL". If MAGEE wasnt a CHOICE, then a CAVE wouldve been more APPROPRIATE than LATROBE. This NURSE went as far as THREATENED to take OUR BABY AWAY FROM US bc MY WIFE was so AFRAID of going to the PRE-NATAL Check-Ups. She was so worked up & VERY UPSET bc of this woman. SHE WAS A SAD REPRESENTATIVE OF THE NURSING COMMUNITY.

I fell and hit my head really hard and even 3 months later the right side still hurts. I went to Latrobe hospital and they gave me a catscan and said nothing is wrong. 3 months after that I went back because my head still hurts. Now, heres the interesting part: this quack, tall, gotee, dr, said to me, " u take baclofen? well, thats a powerful narcotic". I told him that it is not a narcotic but, he insisted that it was. He assumed that I was an addict. Next, he said, in a very raised voice, "DO YOU WANT TO DIE?? FOLLOW ME!!" he gave me another catscan. About 4 months later my thyroid started to bother me. Now my head hurts worse then ever. DO U WANT TO DIE FOLLOW ME?! Really??? Isnt that murder? Huh, if u r a dr, it is OK to kill people. So, if u want to die, go to Latrobe hospital? Thats their motto I suppose. Unreal. Sickening. Evil. Wow.

The ER can be somewhat frustrating. You could be stuck there for hours. Last Nov. I was misdiagnosed by one ER doc. Was told I had a boil. No blood work taken...no tests...no antibiotic given...sent home. Within four days this "boil" on my lower back had become so infected it was spreading across my lower back. You could barely touch it. I returned to the ER to see if the mass could be drained. Dr. Courtney Wilner saved my life. He admitted me, I was diagnosed with MRSA and put into isolation. Dr. Matthews drained the site bedside it couldnt be numbed because it was so severely infected. Extremely painful!!! My whiteblood cell count was 40,000. Should be around 11,000. Had a high fever. Was in for a week. I Thank God for my friend Steph and Dr. Wilner...they seriously saved my life.

My son was in an accident recently. He was seen at Latrobe ER. He was afraid and in a lot of pain. The nurse was wonderful with him. She was so kind and help to ease his nerves until he was seen by the physician, who was also very kind. Once they treated his pain, he was taken for some tests and the technician was cracking jokes and making my boy smile in a scary situation. I could not be happier with his treatment and the outcomes.

Excela Westmoreland hospital took great care of my dad during his hospital admission. The doctors and nurses were always great at communicating important information, and I felt very involved in his care. The rooms at Excela were always clean and never had any visible clutter. The food provided to him was great and always exactly what he ordered. There is no need to go outside of Westmoreland county for a great hospital system.

Nope. I have had a doctor come in the room, not even look at me, and send me home, no diagnosis. Another time I had a bad infection from a back surgery, and it was literally killing me, but they sent me to another hospital because they didnt know what to do. The emts taking me had to tell the nurse to get me something for pain, because I was almost in shock. I guess its OK to pawn patients off, then charge them for an er visit.

My step father recently had a stroke and was transferred from UPMC to the therapy center at Latrobe Hospital. The staff was AMAZING! He is on the road to almost a full recovery. He is now walking and talking and regaining use of his right side. Thank you to everyone at Latrobe for everything!

My mom recently had to have lab work on a saturday. There was no waiting during the registration process or at the lab. My mom was very nervous as she is a hard stick for bloodwork but the tech got it on the first try. We were back out the door in just a few moments.

Dr Mills is the best. . Everyone is always friendly and I never had trouble with anyone there. I been in and out of this Hospital since I was a child and they always treated me good and now I bring my kids there and I am pleased with how they take care of my kids.
