THIS REVIEW IS BASED ON AN EMERGENCY CARE SITUATION! Your receptionist Nichole is the best! She was sincere in her concern for our cat Yoda. However, she was light hearted, and even interjected a joke when appropriate. This help ease the mood of a tense situation. She is efficient in her work. Furthermore, she is clear and direct in her communication. She is an asset to your company. Our cat, Yoda, was at your clinic the 9th, 10th, and 11th of January. All the nurses that we dealt with, both in person and on the phone, were knowledgeable, confident, and personable. Moreover, their communication was acute. I appreciate their straight forward nature. Most importantly, they were available. Your nurses welcomed any and all questions. We felt at ease knowing that Yoda was in their care for the weekend. We had an extremely positive experience with our doctor. She was clear in explaining Yodas comprehensive care plan. My wife and I did not have too many questions, so our time with Dr. Donahue was short. However, we did not feel rushed; she encouraged us to ask questions. Furthermore, her updates, via phone, on Yodas condition were short and sweet. Once again, she encouraged us to ask questions. However, her updates were clear and easily understood, so questions were not needed. Not once did we worry about the care that Yoda was receiving while at Hope. We were invited to visit him as many times as we wanted. We declined. Only because we felt at ease with the care he was receiving. We were updated daily. Furthermore, if we called to receive an extra update, the staff did not act as though it were an inconvenience to give that extra update. As for price, our estimate was $1,500-$1,800. Our bill, pre-tax, was a shade over $1,900. This was a bit shocking. Only because we were given a $300 range, and our bill came in $100 over the top end of the estimate. We understand that estimates are not an exact science, and that healthcare can be unpredictable, especially in emergent situations. However, I have to be honest and say that the estimate could have been more polished. In the end… Only if human hospitals ran this efficiently. Also, please provide, no-fat, non-GMO, organic, soy milk for the coffee bar. After all, this is the main line. Also, take human patients. Just kidding. Everything was as close to perfect as can be. Keep up the amazing work!

Female Doctor almsot killed my dog twice ! Put her through three surgeries when it couldve been resolved the first surgery. They do that to charge you three times and they will milk you for everything you have. After the third surgery they irresponsibly neglected to give my dog eye drops because once again the female doctor though it wasnt necessary which led to my dog getting two eye infections. I paid them $10,000 to butcher my dog. After a week they brought in an "eye specialist" and her only resort was to remove my dogs eyes and stitch them together. She said my dog would be permanently blind and recommended doing one eye and going from there. Again trying to make more money! I decided to come in and pick up my dog and remove her from this terrible hospital. My dog had only a few more hours to live! I transferred my dog myself with an iv bag to Ryan Vetinary at Univ of Penn. They performed 1 surgery on my dogs back and it was successful. They then brought in their specialist and they performed two more surgeries on her eyes to prevent the infection from growing. Ryan Vet told me it is protocol to put eye drops in an animal and humans eyes after surgery ! Within one week my dog could see and walk again. Ryan Vetinary saved her life. They said Hope didnt have the eye surgery equipment that they did so instead of referring me to penn ..Hope wanted to remove her eyes and stitch them up. They are disgusting human beings and should not be allowed to operate on animals. Ryan Vetinary at Univ of Penn felt so bad for what I went through and saw how badly Hope handled my dog that THEY DID NOT CHARGE ME A PENNY! The total cost at Penn was $12,500 and the doctor didnt charge me. Please DO NOT take your animal to HOPE. While we waited at hope we saw one animal owner after another leave without their pets. My dog went on to live three more years before passing away. Please do not put your animal through what I went through. P.S: Hope NEVER refunded me any money. The doctor just apologized and said good luck! HOPE will kill your pet ! Youve been warned !

This was our first visit to Hope VS. We were referred by our regular vet. It was a long drive for us, even longer due to traffic and road work. Our kitty was really shaken up by the time we arrived, but the staff at Hope VS was wonderful. They were very friendly, very compassionate and yet very professional. They could see that all three of us (myself, my husband and our kitty) were very upset after such a long, stressful drive, and we were afraid that the diagnosis would be worse than we expected. The vet tech was so kind and so gentle with our kitty. She was very reassuring and explained everything that would take place during the exam, including the estimated cost. The cardiologist came in after the exam and explained everything to us so that we could understand. She took her time, made sure we understood and answered all of our questions. We didnt feel rushed in anyway. After we got home, our kitty ran around the house meowing and clearly distressed. The stress of the long car ride and visit was too much for her. She even started making strange noises and drooling. I freaked out and called Hope VS to make sure something wasnt seriously wrong with her (her heart rate was so high at the vet). The vet tech we originally saw that morning called right back and talked me through everything. She assured me that it was, in all likelihood, the stress causing her distress and she should be calmer by that night. She also said I could call any time, day or night, for help or advice. She reminded me that there was an Emergency Pet Center in Lancaster if worse came to worse. I have to say, although it was such a stressful experience, the staff and facilities at Hope VS make it all worth it. The place was immaculate and huge! They have a large, very organized operation there, and they all seem to really LOVE animals and love their jobs. Id highly recommend it to anyone in need of special care for their companions.

I took my 11 year old female Pomeranian Angel, who meant the world to me, to Hope Veterinary specialists because she was choking. She was choking bad enough at home that I took her to the Emergency Center at Hope. A month later she was death. I do not know why, the doctor at Hope who examined Angel, said he saw nothing wrong with her. He said there were no need for x-rays since she did not have any choking episode in his presence and he suggested I take her home and just watch her. A few weeks later there was a lump in her throat. I took her to my regular vet and they gave her tests and referred me to the VRC because the tests revealed she had a very large tumor. It was so large by that time removing it through surgery could cause brain damage because the tumor was laying on her larynx and strangling her and and they would have to compromise the artery to her brain in surgery and she could die or have brain damage. Angel was suffering so much by this time the treatment options of surgery and radiation would only cause more suffering.. If Hope had taken x-rays of Angel instead of telling me to take her home and just watch her, at that point when the tumor was smaller, she could have had the surgery and it could have been removed because it was not that big then and she was not struggling to breathe like she was three weeks later. When her vet took the x-rays it was plain to see she had a tumor the size of her head growing inside her throat and by that time she was suffering and only would suffer more with the treatment options. So my little girl that I loved more than anything was dead within one month of rushing her to Hope Veterinary Specialists for Hope which was not the case for Angel.
