I have been going to Ohio Valley since I was born and will continue to, however this review is not about the hospital itself it is about the ER. I have had many positive experiences with the hospital, outpatient, cardiology, etc....The ER is and has always been a disaster, everything that people have wrote about here is exactly correct. The staff, doctors and nurses, etc...sit around and gossip, laughing and having a good time even when your there alone or there is 1 or 2 other patients. They totally neglect you and the time from beginning(registration) to end(discharge)is ridiculous...expect to be there anywhere from 4 to 8 hours or possibly even more for anything. I honestly think this is done on purpose to deter people from coming to the ER for medical attention. It is a classless ward.

My aunt went into their ER, they did a chest X-ray because she couldnt breathe. They diagnosed her with bronchitis and discharged her. A week later he lung collapsed because their was a tumor the size of a softball pushing on it. Cancer does not grow that fast according to other doctors. That means they missed a tumor that was on the X-ray. Also, they dont change patients sheets on a regular bases unless asked to. Then while in the hospital my aunt need oxygen, we rang for a nurse, 15 minutes later no one came, luckily I knew how to set up oxygen or she would have passed out. This is a horrible place to bring your loved ones.

I went for a mammogram and was registered, in and out within 20 minutes. That was wonderful. Then I call for MY results, I dial the phone number that was given to me, (I didnt even ask for the number, it was given to me to call for results) only to be told that I can not have MY results. That I now have to wait for them to send MY results to my doctor. A new gynecologist that I have not even met yet. Very disappointed and will not return next year, while the convenience is great, it does my health no good to have to wait on results like this. Feeling very disappointed!!

One time I picked up a guy who was covered in bruises. And another time I had to change one of my people because he was soaked from head to toe in his own urine. My fiance had a cut on her hand that had glass in it and they gave us the run around saying nobody was available when the waiting room was empty. Go back to triage and all the doctors and nurses are sitting at the nurses station laughing and gossiping. The staff is rude and ignores allergies and special things to keep in mind patient wise. Will never go here again. Death valley hospital is the worst.

This is the worst hospital ever that I been in. My my friend kidney was hurting him. We waited for over an hour to be seen. And when we did the doctor and the nurses was just sitting around like we wasnt in the room waiting to be seen. These doctor and nurses move when they want to. They dont care if someone dying they still take they time. Dont bring no one here at all.

Just had sugery today. What a great bunch of people. Staff was caring. friendly. From the time I checked into to the time I check out. Calming me down while I was nervous. Dr Kosanovich what can I say but, great doctor and caring, was told from many other doctors he is the best. So thank you all at OV.

4 hour wait for an ace bandage and a referral to a doctor who is on vacation for a week. Then waited an additional 30min for MRI results they forgot to give us after leaving. Total garbage. Id rather a homeless man do medical procedures on me behind a dumpster at McDonalds than go here Again.

Went in for a broken wrist. They put me in a poorly wrapped brace and told me to follow up with tri-state orthopedics. That company however, doesnt accept my medical coverage. So we went back to Ohio Valley only for them to put a worse splint on. We left without discharge and went to AGH.

The hospital is old and some (if not most parts) are past due for updating and cleaning. The facility is difficult to navigate around and there are very few places to sit comfortably while waiting for a friend or family members operation or doctors office visit.

I have had three children and one operation there in the past 5 years. I love this hospital and the staff. I was sad when they closed the Maternity wing. I live right down the road and am happy to have such a wonderful hospital so close.

Always got a private room the staff is excellent always have a problem with the cafeteria at first about trying to give me what they want me to have. No. Ill choose what I want.

My husband has a severe ibuprofen allergy. He told the staff upon arrival and when the doctor greeted him in the ER. What do they prescribe him? Ibuprofen. Unbelievable.
