Customer Service should not only be a department in a company - it should be a standard, a moto, and a golden rule for which every employee lives by, if the company wants to succeed.. I was a receptionist for more that 10 yrs and I took it very seriously. The operator/receptionist is the face/voice of the company, not just a fill in - temp job. The 1st impression of the company is that 1st person you talk to when you call or when you walk into the business. The staff is a reflection of the managers/supervisors. I am sure, sometimes, things/attitudes/people leak through in big corporations, but it is a responsibility that should not be overlooked or taken lightly; to make sure your employees are as high quality as you want your business to be. The hospital should invest in giving their staff - all of it - a customer service workshop. Specially, the team that operates the phones and welcomes the people to the facility. It should be a requirement to continue working there. I have in high standards this hospital. Yet, it is very sad that I have to call several times to ask a simple question and am put on hold in the middle of a sentence, and then given the excuse, with an attitude, that she had another call. Then, transferred to a department where the bad attitude starts early in the morning, also. I understand the stresses that working in a hospital may cause upon some people, but if you cant take it, go work somewhere else where you dont deal with people on a normal basis. The supervisors are to be aware of this at all times. Customer Service should remain the #1 goal of each company.

I delivered in this hospital, it was great, all the nurses were extremely nice and supportive. My baby girl was only 33 weeks so she had to go to the NICU. We been here 28 days now, and have more to go. I have to say its been really hard, now shes better and getting better every day, but it was a rough start, she had a lot of problems with her lungs and had to be on a ventilator. After she was taken off the ventilator and we thought everything was better she had an infection and had to be on antibiotics for 10 days. I have to say that i dont imagine having to pass all this in another hospital, with other nurses. THE NICU NURSES HERE ARE EXTRAORDINARY!!! They all love my little girl and are always checking on her even when shes not assigned to them. MERCY is an angel, she is the sweetest nurse ever, thanks to her when we had to go home we have been going not worried knowing shes the one taking care of our little girl. Jenn, Tara, Marcella, Marie, Chris, they love what they do they are really caring and loving, Jenn is an angel too, she is always on top of everything and gives the best care to our baby. The respiratory therapists alberto, carolina and yanet have been great also. I remember one day that i didnt know what to think of everything my baby was going through, i didnt know if it was normal and if she was going to get better, Yanet talked to me and made me feel so much calm, explaining everything that was happening and how she had seen all that before. THANK YOU ALL!!!

My Mother was admitted to the hospital a week ago for pneumonia and a fast Heart rate. She was put in ICU for 3-days of wich I was there with her all the time day and night as usual as I am not only her Son but also her Caregiver then on the third day they Transfered her to Telemetry till Wednesday afternoon when then she was Transferred to Aventura Hospital to undergo a Heart Cath procedure . We have been here at Aventura Hospital for 5 days now and after 5 days here, yesterday they decided not to do the heart cath without even checking her heart. No EKG No ultrasound No Echo was done since weve been here. So initially Memorial Hospital sent my mother to Aventura Hospital to lay on her back for 5 days and have the doctors here send her home without anything being done for her heart valve and her pleural effusion. Dr. Amini, should have sent my mother to Memorial Regional Hollywood where they specialize in heart conditions instead of sending her here because her doctors are in this hospital ater I told them that the doctors here never did anything good for her so she was sent here to basically waste her time. My mothers life and health is very important to me. Memorial Hospital Miramar should have sent her to Memorial Regional Hollywood where they specialize in the heart. now I have to take my mother home in the same condition that we were brought here from Memorial Miramar I hope for all your sake that nothing happens to my Mother because I wont stand still

Went to the ER for my daughter who had bad cramping and vomiting. Signed and and was seen. However it too 6 HOURS for simple blood work, urine test, xray and ultrasound. It seems they have a "team" who is dedicated to each area. This means even to put a saline drip bag which took 30 minutes to change out. Blood work took 30 minutes to completed. Nurse came in, I asked if they had non allergenic tape, didnt even ask if my daughter was allergic, when I asked, attitude given, was advised she was doing someone a favor and her shift ended. Left the Kit in the room, needles and all, so much for patient safety, and I had to go out and ask who is taking my daughters blood. I walked out three times to see what was keeping the "team" which they were not busy the night I went at 10pm. Some were empathetic, others just sat at the desk "busy". I work in the healthcare industry and to have a patient wait over 6 hours for blood work and labs is ridiculous. Not a good experience for my daughter first time going to an ER. Would not go back! Nice to have the bells and whistles but ridiculous patient flow and wait times. Finally left with an antibiotic script at 4AM. Cant wait to see the bill for I am sure the "team" each billed for their time. I should be sending my hourly bill for the wasted time. This place screams Quality and Patient Safety control as well as to map patient flow on efficiency and effectiveness toward the patient and not the "team"
