I just delivered my daughter here via C-section last weekend. The nurses were very incompetent and had no bed side manner. Upon arrival, it took them several attempts to appropriately draw blood or give me an IV. I now have several bruises on my arm. When the anesthesiologist told the nurse that the IV was not done correctly she told him that it would work as long as I kept my hand craned throughout the entire surgery. Luckily, the anesthesiologist corrected the IV prior to beginning surgery. After the surgery, they did not let my husband follow the baby into the nursery to watch her be cleaned up. I was also not allowed to be reunited with my daughter until around 12pm and she was born at 8am. This significantly impacted our breastfeeding progress. Additionally, they were unable to properly manage my post C-section pain. This was my second C-section, so I know what it is supposed to feel like. They ran out of the appropriate pain relief medication for after the C-section that was supposed to be injected into my spine. They instead tried to give me a morphine pump. Unfortunately, none of the nurses could find a pump that worked and they did not know how to use it. It kept beeping and stopping the delivery of the morphine. My pain became very out of control and a nurse told me to stop obsessing over it. I had to call the head nurse, who was finally able to call an anesthesiologist an hour and a half later to give me an appropriate medication. During this time, the Pitocin was causing me to contract and I was in so much pain that I could not stop crying. There was zero empathy given to me and zero sense of urgency to alleviate my pain. Furthermore, at other hospitals a private room is standard. At PGH, you have to pay extra and the only private room available for me was $192 a night. Also, if you do not have a private room your partner cannot stay the night. Plus, there is no nursery, so they will not take the baby from you overnight. If you have a C section, you cannot leave your bed for the first night so you would be stuck with a crying baby that you could not attend to if you were by yourself. I am so happy that my husband was with me because the nurses were very unresponsive to calls. Additionally, compared to other hospitals the food was not very good. I do not usually complain, but the experience of being in a hospital after delivery can be very nurturing like it was at Memorial Regional during my first C-section. There was lobster, an overnight nursery, and detailed help on caring for my baby. I would just like all mothers to know that there are much better options out there.

Dont go here unless you are dying or like to be manipulated into a high hospital bill. I took my son to the ER at P.G.H. During his ER visit some test were run and the results came back. Now the issue he was having was something I had actually brought my nephew to a hospital ( not this joke of a hospital) for a couple of months earlier and his test results had been much worse than my sons. The on call doctor, that I never actually meet, admitted my son over night. I found this a little strange since like I said before I had just taken my nephew to hospital for the same exact reason and he was treated and released the same night in a far worse condition. At this point my son stayed the night and was re tested in the morning. His levels came back and were at a normal rate. I knew that once the doctor did rounds he would be released since he was back to were he needed to be according to the results. The doctor came in and after a conversation she had with my son not necessarily me, you know his guardian, she determined that he stay a second night. I found this alarming and decided to reach out to my sons pediatrician as well as some other individuals that had experience with this particular problem. After much thought I thought it would be better for my son to be seen by his own pediatrician rather than The hospital doctor. I asked for my son to be discharged when I did this the nurse came in and asked why I didnt say this while the doctor was in the room. She then proceeded to threaten me and said that if I had him discharged they would need to call DCF. This was surprising to me because Ive had my son discharged from hospital in the past and they never threatened this was surprising to me because Ive had my son discharged from hospital in the past and they never threatened me to call DCF. Plantation General Hospital is a money hungry facility and is only concerned about admitting as many patients as they can for as long as they can to make money. It became completely evident to me at that point when they were no longer trying to help my son but make him a hostage in the hospital.

The worst hospital visit I ever had. I had no help from the doctors nor nurses. One doctor saying I will be discharged and the other is saying no, they did not come to an agreement until later in the evening, having my family and I wait all day just for an answer, just not to get discharged. My pain was so bad during my stay, I was more in pain being in the hospital than being out. My doctor was never contacted to either change medicine or dosage so I was in constant pain. During my stay, there was a few times I was in severe pain, to the point I was shaking, but they had me wait for over an hour for medication even though I was due for my medication. One nurse was trying to help by giving me my medication a certain way, which was relieving some of the pain but when they did a shift change the new nurse did not even try to help saying the other nurse was wrong with the way she was giving me my medication and switched everything putting me right back in pain. They also had attitude if you asked for the medication, they made you feel bad or stupid for requesting it. One of the nurses put my IV in a very uncomfortable position and when I requested for it to be redone they denied my request giving me the most unreasonable excuse, now I have a big black and blue bruise on my arm. It seems like they had a bad excuse for everything and anything they did. If I can give 5 Stars for anything would be for Nurse Olivier, he actually listened to what I had to say and followed through with his words, which is the only relief I had being there. There is more but I will not get into detail, it is ridiculous the way they treat people here, I would definitely not recommend this hospital to anyone nor will I ever come here again. Even the response to the reviews from the owner are a copy and paste, no sincere apologies or responses from this place, makes it even more disappointing and unprofessional.
