Once again I have to applaud GRACE VETERINARY CLINIC in MT. PLEASANT, PENNSYLVANIA for turning away my dying puppy today and the reason they gave me for doing so is because I made negative comments about them on Facebook! When my puppy was about a month old she was having problems breathing and she was coughing alot and close to dying so I rushed her to GRACE VETERINARY CLINIC to be checked out. He listened to her lungs and said they sounded fine, basically told me that she would be fine, wrote her a script for an antibiotic and sent me out the door. That same day her breathing just got worse so I took her for a second opinion. As soon as I entered HOPE VETERINARY CLINIC in WEST NEWTON, PENNSYLVANIA it only took them 1 second to hear her breathing and rushed to put her on oxygen. Dr. Hope listened to her lungs and could not believe how bad they sounded. My month old puppy was diagnosed with pneumonia that same day and was told if I would of waited any longer to get her treated she would have died. She ended up staying in an oxygen box for four days until she was strong enough to breathe on her own. My heart goes out to Dr. Hope and his staff for saving my puppies life. Now back to the negative comments on Facebook, does anybody blame me for voicing my opinion about GRACE VETERINARY CLINIC? I did not want to see anybody elses beloved pet go through the same ordeal mine did. I vowed from that day on I would never go back! Well about two days ago the same puppy, which is now 6 months old, started gagging and vomiting blood. She stopped eating and drinking and was very lethargic. Everytime she would try to stand up or even move she would start gagging which lead to vomiting blood. I knew I had to get her to a vet and right away. The closest vet to my home is GRACE VETERINARY CLINIC so I thought I would give them a second chance with my puppys health and take her there which I knew was against my better judgement. She needed help and she needed it right away. So I called, explained the situation, and they told me to bring her in right away. I walked in the door and checked in, in the meantime my puppy is gagging and struggling to breathe once again. I sensed a problem when all the women started talking secretively and looking at me funny. They called me back into the exam room and told me that they would not treat my puppy and that my account there had been closed because of negative comments I had made about them on Facebook in the past. They basically said that I was no longer welcome to bring my pets there anymore. But she did make sure to tell me that my puppy was in really bad shape and needed to be seen somewhere as soon as possible! Thats it! Turned away to die for the second time! Has this vet ever heard of the HIPPOCRATIC OATH??? Or is that just for real physicians? Some peoples pets are their children and they should be treated like human beings because in a sense they are. Now I have three young children who are sitting at home watching their puppy die right before Christmas! How do you sleep at night? MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND YOUR STAFF AT GRACE VETERINARY CLINIC IN MT. PLEASANT, PENNSYLVANIA!!! Just so you know, our little girl died the next morning after bleeding out and suffering all night long! This place should be shut down!!!

I have two very hyper dogs that just needed their rabies shots. When I called I explained they are in training and very excitable and I have a hard time with them in new places, and they said that was fine just bring them in. So I brought them in and they were trying to sniff everything and when another dog came in they were barking their heads off, and not very good. The entire staff was standing around, not offering to help. (The combined weight of these dogs is 98lbs, and I am only 110 lbs, so its difficult for me alone.) Not a single person offered help and I heard a few comment about how aggressive my dogs were instead of lending a hand. These dogs go to the dog park 3 times a week, and are good with every dog they have ever been around, but both dogs were on leashes and mine were riled up before the other walked in the door, so they were barking in excitement wagging their tails. I feel that they could have simply taken me to the exam room and helped in any way instead of being so judgemental when they already had warning as to the difficutly level of these two obnoxious dogs. (They are in training, and I am trying but they are new shelter dogs). I feel they were unprofessional and definatly not helpful or friendly in any way shape or form and I would not reccommend this vet to anyone. While I was there I also witnessed the Vet screaming at a Vet Tech for filling a prescription differently than he had written it, then realizing that he wrote a dosage that did not exist for the pills he was prescribing, but yelling at her anyway in front of the entire waiting room.

I had a sick dog I called TOP NOTCH VETERINARY CLINIC formerly Grace Veterinary Clinic about on Saturday JULY 9TH. They couldnt take me but scheduled me for Tuesday. So I take the day off work, take all my dogs to the vet because I scheduled shots for all of them. I go to my appointment and they tell me it was for the following week. You are going to make my dog suffer with an ear infection for over a week...... THATS ANIMAL CRUELTY PLAIN AND SIMPLE. THEY DONT CARE ABOUT YOUR PETS ONE BIT. I thought they were different. I will be righting to the veterinary board. I will never recommend them again to anyone. Do they apologize? Oh no, they didnt make the mistake, I did. REALLY, I noticed my dog Friday shaking her head. I cleaned her ears but didnt get anything but a little blood from her scratching. I checked again Saturday when I got back from my doctors appointment and called the vet because I saw a lot of black in her ear. The technician that answered said not to clean her ears until I come in Tuesday. I said ok. Thats in 3 days she said yes. I said shed be alright she said yes & hopefully theyd be able to figure whats causing the infection. Right! but shes on the wrong week and my dog IS NOT SEEN BECAUSE VET IS TOO BUSY. Well first Id fire the girls in the office because apparently they cant do their job. All of them. They didnt even offer to at least see my dog with the infection. I could have rescheduled the others. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR PETS......ITS ANIMAL CRUELTY TO LET AN ANIMAL SUFFER. SHAME ON ALL OF YOU.

I could not disagree with the previous reviews more. In my experience, this has been the best vet ive ever been to. He has a tremendous reputation for caring for the ANIMAL first, and doing what is necessary to help the animal no matter what. What people dont like is that he is very blunt; if an animal is sick and operation/medication/etc. will prolong its life, but not much, and what extra time it has will be low quality and pain-filled, he will tell you that directly. He wont coddle people or try to pad theire egos. Personally, I appreciate that. it proves that he is more interested in your pet than in your money. He has always treated me with respect...and, on return visits, he has not charged me as a result of the thoroughness with which I took care of my dog. I have heard from many people that he is willing to put financial gain aside in order to help people & animals...that he will allow people to make payments, or reduce costs, so that the animal can receive the care it needs. I have not had that experience myself, but i have never asked. Regarding his costs, i find them exceedingly reasonable. my dog had an aggressive bacterial infection in her mouth that required having all but 4 of her teeth removed. she was anesthetized for the surgery. she also received her shots at the same time. The bill was approximately $180...compare that to my cousin, whose dog had just his top teeth pulled, who was charged over $1000.
