I felt compelled to respond to some negative reviews. Dr. Michels is an amazing doctor, and you should wholly trust your health to him. I went to Wills Eye Hospital for a recurring eye problem... I went over 8 times with no results. Dr. Michels knew my problem instinctively on the first visit and fixed it. Furthermore, when my husband had an eye problem Dr. Michels instinctively knew it was something more... and it was, my 26 year old husband was diagnosed at Jefferson Hospital of Neuro Science with Multiple Sclerosis after Dr. Michels noticed a problem with the optic nerve. His early diagnosis has helped us very greatly. Then in dealing with the diagnosis, Dr. Michels and his staff was there to support us every step of the way... Despite not being an MS specialist. He went out of his way to do additional research and help us find an MS specialist. He has never overcharged me, in-fact he goes out of his way to give me providers coupons to lower my prescription costs. I could not recommend a better eye doctor, he may seem gruff but he genuinely cares about you as a patient and knows what he is doing.

I went to Dr. Michels for regular eye care (contacts/glasses) and had a positive experience. I found that he did more tests for eye health than I have had with other doctors in the past. The staff were friendly, helpful, and flexible.

I think the doctor is okay, even so disregarding the fact the he says the same thing to every single person he sees after a long while "you look great" but definitely the staff has some issues; especially the front desk.
