Well, I have to be honest and start with the one good experience I had. Our dog had a bad ear infection when we got him from the SPCA and several of the techs were very helpful in calming him in order to administer the ear drops. They also showed us the best way to hold him so we could do it at home ourselves. It was a lady with a short hair cut and glasses- super nice and another tech named Jackson I think. They were wonderful. However, it still cost us $130 for them to administer 2 drops (less than 10 seconds) to his ears for 5 days. Crazy! We also noticed that every time we went to get more frontline and heartworm medicine, the price continuously increased. I started asking for receipts every time and noticed there were different prices almost every time and sometimes up to a $6 difference from the last time. Very weird. But I continued to be patient because we love our dog and what he needs he gets. I began to get more frustrated when we noticed they had things incorrect on his paperwork. For instance they had HIM labeled as a FEMALE. They had some of his vaccines listed incorrectly, even his rabies vaccine! I called and brought documentation from the shelter to show the corrections that needed to be made. They continually dismissed me and said it would be taken care of. My last straw was yesterday. I brought our dog for a heartworm test($41) , annual exam ($50) and ear medicine ($36)= $127. So why was the bill suddenly $270 dollars when it was time to leave???!!!! I have never been so annoyed and angry in my life. I asked the receptionist for the bill to see how it suddenly came to almost 300 dollars. There were extra random charges for everything and stuff was included that I didnt even request. Im like well what is included in the $50 medical exam? Apparently nothing! The receptionist was so rude and inconsiderate the entire time as I asked about the extra charges and explained to her that they gave him a rabies vaccine which he wasnt supposed to have until 2010!! I even had his rabies certificate with me to prove it. She said well theres really nothing I can do theyve already given him the "rabies vaccine today." I was so angry. So they wanted me to pay for their mistake that they entered on his paperwork and never corrected, even though I called several times and even told her that morning about the correction that needed to be made to his paperwork. I asked her if the bill could be paid in installments as the bill she gave me clearly showed payments and balance lines which says to me that they do take payment installments. She told me "No, we need the full bill paid today." I only had $230 dollars on me at the time, as I wasnt expecting to be paying over $130 for the appt., so I had to have them take off some of the medicines in order to pay the bill! It was the worst experience I have ever had. Then when I get out to my car with my dog ,about to pull out the parking lot, the receptionist and doctor are asking me to come back in to figure out how to rework the bill again because the doctor really wanted me to get the ear medicine. They still never bothered to apologize for giving him the rabies vaccine too early, nor did they remove it from the bill. I am searching for another vet as I type this review. I will not waste my gas money to drive all the way from Bensalem to go to a place that tries to scam its customers.

Well they sent me an e-mail asking me for a review, so here it is (Ive since switched my care to a different office). Cons: 1. Average wait time was well over 30 minutes. That seemed ridiculous. This was over numerous visits over many years. Its just the way they schedule things. I waited over 45 minutes on many occasions. Added negative is a small waiting room with an annoying TV always on and loud scary dogs (for a cat). 2. One of the vets was very rude and insensitive. It was clear that I was a widget and my cat was a widget to her. She was very matter of fact about talking about the cat dying (this is a cat that has lived 4+ years since then). 3. Their end of life care seemed to be very laissez faire. The vet suggested different food, but I had to do the research on where to find it. In the end when my cat was having trouble keeping hydrated, I had to suggest periodic IVs with fluids and my vet seconded it would be a good idea. The fluids not only helped my cat live longer, but also made him feel better. There was no aggression in treating a sick cat, even though the only symptom they could find was him losing weight. 4. Some vets would not make follow up calls with test results when they said they would. 5. Their scales are off/inconsistent. This might sound petty, but one vet was telling me how horrible it was that my cat had lost 6 ounces in 3 months. By using my own scale at home, I was able to identify that their scales in different rooms could vary by as much as a pound. Given they were using weight to suggest a diagnosis, this seemed a significant issue. They didnt dispute what I was saying either, they said because they use dogs on them they get less reliable. Pros 1. They didnt push services like some other vets do. 2. Their costs seemed relatively reasonable. 3. Follow up visits were usually free. 4. Most of the vets were friendly. The receptionists were friendly.

I chose this hospital after a lengthy search online. The bios from each and every vet was impressive. Maybe it;s because Im a PENN grad myself, but I was drawn there. Our previous vet, unfortunately lost their lease and no longer has a facility in which to see patients,My dog Cassius was needed immediate attention. Hed developed a wound on his belly over night. To say I was frantic is an understatement. I called bright and early and the office staff was very friendly and understanding. I was given an early afternoon appt. Upon arrive, of course Cassius was very nervous. the vet tech was very gentle with him and she spoke gently to him to try an calm his stress. I must apologize because although she told me her name, I was so stressed myself that I forgot it. My apology to her if shes reading this review..Then in comes Dr Mooney. What impressed me right off the bat was that without hesitation, she joined me on the floor with my pet. Id previously sat down on the floor to make him more comfortable. She listened intently to his history and why we were there. She then very gently went about her business of giving him a thorough exam. She gave me the same instructions on what to do with his wound as my previous vet (Id emailed them a pic on Sunday eve and was told to clean it and use some neosporin on it for a few days). And although I absolutely LOVE our vet, my Silky Yorkie is a SR dog and he needs someplace to go when theres an immediate need. Until Dr Rapp finds another location, I believe we just may have found a replacement home at the Mt Airy Animal Hospital with Dr Mooney. Thank you Rose
