I had an awful accident, which I continue to relive due to the negligence of hospital staff and most importantly due to the billing department. I was seen in the ER after being hit by a car while I was on my bicycle. The ER greeting staff and nurses were slow, but decently pleasant. My Dr. on the other hand was completely incompetent. I received x-rays and after he reviewed them, he told me it was a minor bruise. The "minor bruise" was something that continued to bother me and cause problems with everyday functioning for the next 4 months. I stupidly did not have it looked again by another doctor, due to my own fault, but I wouldnt doubt if the bone was actually broken by the accident. In addition, I have continued to live with ongoing billing issues from this hospital 8 months after the accident. I have very good insurance, which I provided to the hospital the day of my insurance, in addition to a copy of my insurance card. I was told I would receive a bill if anything was due after my insurance processed the claim. No bill was received, until 4 months later, when I received a bill from collections, saying my account was going to be sent to the credit bureaus for past payments. I worked with the collections agency, who requested that the hospital re-bill my insurance. After another 2 months of non payment I gave up and paid the $300 bill so it would not negatively affect my credit score. In the time, since the accident and my payment to the collections agency I had been to two other doctors for non related reasons. My insurance was properly billed, and I then received prompt billing of any remaining balance. Proving, it is in fact the hospital that is incapable of proper billing. In addition I received a call just a few short days ago from the same collections agency informing me I still owed another $200!!! For a bill owed to Dr. Brian!? I told the woman that I had just paid a bill and that I had not received any information regarding any other money that was due. The woman let me know that they had been sending me bills at an address which I had never heard of, let alone had I lived! Where the hospital got the address I have no idea. The woman offered to send me the bill at the correct address, but I told her I have given up and I paid the bill that second. It is completely unfair for a hospital to employ such idiots. If you cannot properly hire someone to send me a simple bill in the mail and ensure you have written down my address correctly how can I trust you in the care of my life?!?! I will never go to this hospital again. I will advise any one who asks to never go to this hospital. I will warn anyone and everyone I can to never go to this hospital. I have continue to be haunted by an accident which was quite traumatic, and in no way my fault (it was a hit and run), and have paid hundreds of dollars out of pocket.

Not the place to go for a serious problem! The staff seems to work at a slow pace as if time is not important, but when you complain, its always a excuse from the staff! My mother never had her temp, blood sugar or any other vitals taken in a timely manner, and one day after expressing my concern, I took my Mothers temperature. Good thing, it was 89! No excuse, and I had asked the staff numerous times to keep an eye on it! Her blood sugar was 24 once, again the staff was careless! who is running this place? clearly not upper management!!!!! Transfer out, if you are in there! The director of nursing is the rudest person I have ever spoken to. According to her "her staff is the best" this is after mistakes, rude comments by her staff, and generally a I dont care attitude!!! Can you believe a ICU nurse made a end of life comment to me, regarding my Mother, this is after only 1 day there, and she was getting better. Nothing like giving the family hope! After I asked her not to say this again(especially in front of my Mother) she repeated it again

I have three huge issues with this hospital. 1- I went here for an x-ray with the prescription from my rhuematologist. They only did half of what she ordered, so then I had to get another x-ray! Obviously I did it at a completely different facility. 2- When I had the x-ray done, I gave them the information to forward the results to my doctor. They never forwarded the results to my doctor, so then I had to go back to their x-ray department in order to obtain a copy of the results. 3- They KEEP BILLING ME, EVEN THOUGH I PAID! For whatever reason, they didnt collect my copay at the time of the x-ray. I received a bill about 4 months later. I paid it. Then I got another bill, forgot I already paid it and paid again. I took note of the date I sent the check, and checked to see if it was cashed. Today I received ANOTHER bill. I went online to my bank account and did some years worth of statement reviews and found I paid this bill last October and again last month (June). Im writing them a letter and if I dont get a response I will be contacting the Attorney General.

Clincally, I have little complaint. My father is being treated at Roxborough, and he is improving. Patient relations, accountability, and reponse to routine questions is abysmal. My father has been in Roxborough for a week, and I have heard nothing substantive or even in passing from the medical team. They work on ideas from the 20th century that treatment is their business and not the patients or his familys. The doctor attending my father disdains the public. I have never been closer to suing any business or person in my life. Calls to the hospital go unanswered. With some outstanding exceptions, nursing is done as a job not an art or a healing trade. Nurses wishes are given priority over a patients or a family members. Ask a question, and youre treated like a pest or a meddler. With competition the way it is today, hospitals have to have more than medical prowess. Roxborough, in general, has no bedside manner. The doctor treating my father should be relegated to amphibian obstetrics.

Lawsuit waiting to happen. I was prescribed something I told them I was allergic to, while pregnant. They lied and said they called my OBGYN when there is no record of even a voicemail. I was born without a thyroid gland and they suggested I stopped taking my synthroid. Turned out I had a bad bladder infection and there is no record of a urine culture, just a dip in my file. Seems like there is a wild incompetency issue going on at this hospital. About to head to my OBGYN at Jefferson, and they told me to bring my pill bottle because they might report the kid who prescribed it (who was chewing gum and wearing a hoodie, BY THE WAY). Hes lucky my Irish-Catholic husband didnt lose his temper and deck him. Luckily the baby is okay, but will not be returning to this hospital ever again. Not surprised to discover that the locals have a saying for it, "go there to die, not to get better."
