It is difficult to describe the amount of disgust I have for this "Skin Care Center". I went to Dr. Bikowski because he is very close to my home in Sewickley. I am ashamed to say I put up with this centers nonsense for 5 appointments because of how convenient the location was....but I cannot justify going here anymore. Dr. Bikowski definitely is arrogant and has zero time to hear about your concerns. Perhaps that is why the Nurse Practitioner, Katie, is so rude and unprofessional because she has learned from the "best". I get my skin scanned once a year....skin cancer runs in my family and I am very light skinned. Katie barely looked at me during this last skin scan. I had to point out new bumps that I had on my skin and she said "there is nothing you can do about those" and rattled off some medical terms with zero explanation. I also had a mole that I was considering to get removed. I asked Katie if the scar would be worse than the mole. She responded with in a smart tone "I gave you the options, you make the decision" Great. Katie ended up taking a sample from my toe that I have been concerned with for the last year. I have seen her 2 times previously and she never took a sample until now. The receptionist told me I had to be seen in order to get my test results....really?? So today I call to schedule a follow up appointment JUST to get my test results and I speak with Cindy...who is about as pleasant as an agitated opossum. I told her I no longer wished to be seen by Katie because she refuses to answer questions, has a poor attitude, and barely looked at me during my skin scan. Cindy was annoyed to hear this. When I asked her why I needed to be seen just to receive test results, she sighed "Oh God..." and then said " You dont HAVE to be seen and if you dont like Katie I guess you can just make an appointment with Dr. Bikowski. I dont have your chart with me....I have to WALK DOWNSTAIRS to get your chart and I cannot leave my post at this moment to do this. So you will just have to wait for me to call you back". Needless to say, I was not happy. When Cindy called me back, she confirmed that I had to come in for results, and when I pushed back she finally confessed that the nurse could simply give me the results over the phone....all with her sunshine attitude....cutting me off and sighing like she was having heart palpitations. I was transferred to the nurse who of course was not available. I guess I am just supposed to pay my $200 for my appointment, show up, ask ZERO questions, come back again just receive test results and pay another $200 and buy tons and tons of the skin care products they are truly concerned with selling...all with a smile on my face. No one cared to listen to my calls....Cindy was obviously having the worst day of her life...it simply is not worth it to go to this Skin Care Center...and frankly it is dangerous because they truly do not take their time when giving a skin scan which could potentially have fatal results. I cant believe Dr. Bikowski gets away with such poor care.

I cant say enough about Dr. Bikowski! I had taken my 2 year old son to another childrens dermatologist in wexford, pa - claiming to be number one in kids - and found it to be the most disappointing experience Ive had yet with a doctor - and I have three small kids. I had driven over an hour to get there and was treated like trash. They spent a total of 10 minutes with my son, who was bleeding at the heel and wrist from scratching so much and whose bum was covered with red irritated sores. Needless to say, I scheduled with Bikowski a month later, since I have been to him myself. Now mind you, if youre looking for a Dr. to hug you and give you a cup of coffee and talk about lifes problems, let me warn you, youre barkin up the wrong tree with Bikowski. In saying that know that youll have a diagnosis, a CORRECT one, in the first 10 minutes in the office. He is hard of hearing and allergic to smells, which are things you have to "run" with, especially in bringing 3 kids to the office under the age of 4 ---- but in seeing my sons atopic dermatis DISAPPEAR in weeks and him so happy is worth the pressure for a few minutes! I love the doc. and would reccommend him over and over again!!!!! Hell answer all your questions and keeps accurrate records of your visit. You dont get a lovey, huggy, best friend - but you do get more than what you paid for --- ANSWERS and RESULTS. I have friends to hug me and now my non-itching 2 year old as well! O, and my kids love going to see the trains and for the stickers from his staff, who are also wonderful and understanding!!!

When I first made an appointment with Dr. Bikowski I was quite happy to be able to book an appointment for the next day, which should have been my first warning. Dr. Bikowski diagnosed me with a very rare skin condition which was quite debilitating but told me not to worry because my genes probably have a mutated component of the actual condition so it shouldn’t be too bad for me! He has zero bedside manner, his blunt fashion of informing me of a skin condition that could eventually leave me debilitated was quite rude and extremely disturbing, he didn’t even allow me to ask questions, he just walked out of the exam room and then the nurse started to try and sell me spa products! Thankfully I happened to have an appointment with my primary care doctor later that afternoon. I was so upset about my diagnoses from Dr. Bikowski that I broke into tears explaining it to my primary care doctor. He immediately referred me to a dermatologist in downtown Pittsburgh and the “rare skin condition” turned out to be a tiny cyst medically termed as Milia, something so common many newborn babies have it. Dr. Bikowski’s office is basically a cosmetic shop with a pompous doctor on site to help beef up the sale of skin products. If you have skin concerns that go beyond having wrinkles you need to make an appointment with a real doctor. Don’t use Dr. Bikowski.

This was the first dermatology office I had ever been to. I visited this place for severe acne and Dr. Bikowski did wonders at clearing it up. I might add that any dermatologist could perscribe the medications he gave me to clear my skin and given me the same result. I later returned asking him about spots on my nose that the medications he prescribed werent responding to. He had the nerve to tell me he didnt know what they were and suggested to go to a different doctor because he couldnt help me. He was extremely rude to me and acted as if it was such a burden for him to even treat me, and quite frankly his arrogance made me uncomfortable. He could not answer any of the questions I had thoroughly, so each time I would leave the office more confused than when I arrived. I would also like to add that when I got a full body scan done by his nurse practitioner, she completely didnt even notice the angiomas on my arms and hands. I also have telangiectasia on my face that they didnt even tell me about, I overheard the nurse in the hallway speaking to him about it but I guess it wasnt important enough to tell me. This place was nothing but an awful experience. I suggest finding your dermatological needs at a more professional and caring place that will actually be attentive to your needs.
