HORRIBLE! Dont even waste your time! Yes dont get me wrong the buildings are creepy, the makeup on the actors was good but to be scared... No! I laughed more then anything thru this attraction! They are very touchy feely. I think they send too many people thru and one time and it kind of ruins it. We drove 2 hours each way and spent $160 for 2 people and I dont think I screamed one time! I jumped a few times but never really GOT SCARED! They are very unorganized and the way you go from each attraction is not put together well. I think this is a good hang out for teenagers. We were very disappointed and unsatisfied and It is very hard to contact anyone from this place so I finally sent them a message thru messenger asking if there was anyone I could talk to about maybe being refunded or partially refunded and they responded saying someone would get back to me today. I sent another message today to find out when I would hear from them only to find out they BLOCKED ME!! How do you treat a paying customer like that? I will be telling everyone I know about how bad our experience with this place is and would never recommend them. I mean I could probably get scared more from a damn haunted hayride FOR KIDS! Not to mention there were a few kids going thru that looked like they were no older then 8 years old. Definitely irritated with these people!!

My father won tickets for Pennhurst, but I couldnt imagine paying full price to experience this attraction. Their haunted houses are very good and imaginative. I saw things I have never seen before and the actors take it a step forward. The biggest let down on my trip was the "Ghost hunt". They let you explore one of the buildings on your own, but it was very busy and crowded. On this haunt, they also had women who had worked at the asylum when it was in working order. Unfortunately, these kindly old ladies completely took the scare out of the entire haunt. They kept speaking about how there were never any illegal or violent happenings at Pennhurst. I had expected to be alone or in a small group armed with flashlights to wander an old sanatorium. They completely need to re-vamp this part of Pennhurst. Its educational to hear them speak, but Im fairly certain most people arent at Pennhurst for a history lesson. All in all I would go again because it is such an atmospheric place and very cool, but for the price point I may hesitate.

This was our first time going, weve done all the others like field of screams but because this was an actual Hospital we thought itd be fun, which it was. BUT with that being said, the 2 1/2 hours drive and the hour long lines, this wasnt worth it. Maybe if we came earlier it wouldnt have been so bad. Now dont get me wrong, the people there are great and they do a great job with props and such. But after waiting in lines for over an hour you kind of lose interest and the scare tactics along with it. I didnt think it was all that scary. I was more scared on haunted hayrides at other places than this. Id be interested in doing actual tours here but we wont be going back next year.

Great experience, we only waited in line about 20 minutes per attraction. The actors were really awesome as well. My only complaint is that its not really scary. None of the scenes were frightening or believable. Also the tunnel is not worth the money. You walk in the dark most of the time with no monsters around just sound effects and weird noises!! Plus in about 3 minutes we were at the exit. I was like Wow thats it ??? Other the that it was enjoyable. They also touch your hair a lot, I didnt mind but if your someone who doesnt lIke to be touched then this isnt the place for you

I went into this visit hoping to be scared. At first, I was, but it was just weird after a bit. Some actors go up the line and this one lady grabbed my friends hair and stuffed it in her mouth... What is that supposed to do? Its not scary, its just strange and unhygienic. The wait without VIP tickets was about a couple hours. Not worth it. The initial scare of the asylum wore off very quickly. The actors in the attractions were very grabby and smelled like stale sweat. Overall, Pennhurst was too expensive and not worth it

WOW! If you like having the shid scared out of you....THIS is the place! The setting is the key. The place is ACTUALLY haunted....if you believe the experts, and it looks that way to me. This is the best of all the haunted attractions I have seen. We traveled 4 hours from Albany but it was worth it. Already making plans to come back next year.

this year was alright , not scary at all . Dont really think it was worth the amount of money at all. This was my 2nd time going to pennhurst ., the first time I went was a lot better. I would recommend getting there early so you dont have to wait in a extremely long line .

I actually worked at Pennhurst from 1976 - 1979. I started in Devon Hall, transfered to Industry Hall, New Horizons, the Modulars and only one time in The Tunnels, saw the hospital, Candyland, and the Tuberculosis ward; it was quite a 4 year experience.

Its the best haunted attraction in the area. The actors, the special effects makeup and the old buildings of the asylum make it the perfect place to be during the Halloween season. And if youre lucky, like I was, you may even get to see a ghost.

Spent a few hours here back in 2005. Incredible experience for those who love Urban Exploration. Wish I could go back, and I would, if the fines werent so steep for getting caught. To all those thinking of doing it ... DO IT!

Turned it into some cheap lame haunted house with a fake ass back story I hope all the tortured souls still trapped in these walls make the new owners pay for the desecration
