Came to the ER with my boyfriend of 5years. He thought he was going to die and waiting for his chest and neck pain to just go away wasnt working. So we drove from where we lived in DE, all the way to this ER since it was the only one we trusted. Was either here or salisbury and we chose this one. Big mistake when we entered we were surrounded by people who have been waiting there for hours. (I knew this because i was personally told by someone in the lobby waiting this lady had been waiting for 2 hours she looked extremely ill.) When the advertisement sign on the way here said 6min wait time.) That really needs to be changed. There was also an extremely rude person shouting across the waiting room to his friend sitting right next to him to where everyone could hear him. This only bothers me because I have Ptsd and am agoraphobic. I dont like people very much and am really uncomfortable around strangers so I fought not to have to come here but my boyfriend said he was going to die so we came anyway. I couldnt move the whole time we waited for 3 hours and finally he called 911 because he feared for his life and shortly a nurse searched for us and asked "are you the one who called 911? is that them on the phone?" we were taken into the locked ER room so a bed in the hallway area. My boyfriend was in a wheelchair so he had to get up onto the bed 2 nurses helped him onto the bed i couldnt talk or say anything all i wanted to do was flee there were people vomiting, coughing, and extremely ill just sitting around waiting for Drs that were never going to come. when my boyfriend was put on the bed he was left there gasping for air and said he couldnt breathe and he started like moan breathing in severe pain and panicking. I didnt know what to do, I kept telling him to sit up if being forced to lay down was making it worse if he had pneumonia or something his lungs might fill with fluid and he would drown to death so i wanted him to sit up but he couldnt. A nurse came over and basically told him to shut up. Telling him to stop breathing like that over and over again my vibe was he was being to loud and they wanted him to shut up so they sent her over. She did nothing to assist him to breathe but telling him to "stop doing that." I was in shock I just wanted to leave but If he really was dying we couldnt. I spent another 2 hours laying in a ball on the bed with him covered up until I couldnt take it anymore he knew I had to leave so he let me once I got out of the hospital i RAN as fast as I could away and slept in our truck until he knocked on the window to tell me they said he had a neck spasm got an Xray and nothing was wrong with his chest. it was now 630am we left to go there at 1030pm. That is around 9 hours. Let me repeat that 9HOURS TO BE TOLD HE HAD A NECK SPASM. We already knew he had a neck spasm doesnt explain why he had severe chest pain and couldnt breathe.

First, I explained to the receptionist over the phone that Id like to set up an appointment to get the hormone injection in my arm, as I had moved to the area recently and my last Depo shot was at the end of its effective period. She said I had to fill out paperwork and be accepted as a patient first, so I waited the week for the paperwork to arrive via mail. I promptly filled it out and took it to the office the day I received it, and was asked if Id like to set up an appointment at that time. I happily agreed. The receptionist said the earliest available appointment was July 16th. It was June 2nd as I stood there and explained to her that I was trying to update my contraceptive to prevent birth, and July 16th was a little longer than would work for me. She said, "Oh, well we can ask your previous provider to extend your current prescription until then." I repeated to that I was on the Depo shot, and that my previous provider was halfway across the country, hence why I was looking for a new OBGYN. Again, I told her that I wanted the arm injection (which a lot of my friends had recommended to me). I thought during this time that it was a little ridiculous that a receptionist for an OBGYN office would automatically assume I was on the pill - weve gotten past that point as women, with tons of other options that are typically more reliable and dont require taking a pill every day at the same time, which is a challenge for many of us who travel, work changing shifts, and have varied schedules. Back to the point, she said that it would be at least 6 to 8 weeks to order the hormone injection anyways, so Id have to wait regardless. I said thank you, told her I was heading to Planned Parenthood (unfortunately an hour and a half away from where I live), and left. Planned Parenthood was able to schedule an appointment for me over the phone for that same day.

My Nurse.. Kudos to you for being kind and caring.. The Doctors and some staff; Well they need manners.. I owe you nothing, I came in sick, you have one job, make a person feel better without forcing me to do your will. The person knows what their bodies can handle. The Doctor gave me an attitude because I refused a pain killer that due to other meds I am taking I am not to take due to high risks of heart attacks an other risks; Doc My Father never talked to me in that way, he has respect for women. Sorry Doc you need to cool your jets when you talk to people you are not a parent but a Doctor, I have a lot of Naval Doctor friends, for My husband is a Naval Officer so we spend a lot of time at socials and they are living and caring in scrubs and out of scrubs, I have other Doctor friends that have great reviews in the civilian world too, great people; I cant wait to tell them about my experience with you. Your income does not make you; I treat people with a smile regardless how I feel, sick, tired, etc. The breathing therapist.. Wow dude get real you are just to give a treatment and walk away; dont ask questions dont get involved in what The patient is taking and what the Nurse is asking a patient it does not pertain to you. Its no wonder you have people repeatedly returning to your ER, they are being seen in 10-15 in and leaving the ER with lots of un answered questions. The staff needs a cross training on how to care for people; what their responsibilities are, dont ask the patients questions if you are not a person that needs to know, like an X-Ray tech, breath therapist, phlebotomist etc, leave that to the. Irse and Doctors. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS YOUR JOB.. And by they way, I was not the only patient being treated poorly. The man next to me; Good grief, he fell and bless his heart good spirits regardless what had just happened to him..
