Normally, I am not one to post reviews whether good, or bad. However the level of incompetence I encountered at sunbury community hospital e.r. left me no choice but to warn others. I took my 6 year old to their e.r. when a fever he had been running for several days skyrocketted to 104°+...they offered him no ice, they offered him no fluids, they offered him no fever reducer, eventhough they were told he was due for another dose several times...so in essence, they allowed my child to lay there while his insides cooked. The only test they performed was blood work. Which revealed his white blood cell count was 4 points above normal. (10 or lower is normal, anything 11 or higher indicates infection. My sons was 14) After receiving the results the dr came into the room to review them. He sat down, and propped his feet up on my sons bed as if it were breaktime in the breakroom. He informed me that eventhough my sons blood count was high he saw no reason to give him antibiotics to treat an infection. When i asked him what he was saying. He excused his incompetence by claiming that my sons condition was beyond the scope of an e.r. I took him to a reg dr the next day, where he was perscribed antibiotics for the strep throat, tonsylitis, and pharyngitis he had. Yet there was no reason for him to need antibiotics at sunbury hospital. In closing, allow me to ask you how comfortable would you be with your life or your childrens lives in the hands of a dr that couldnt even handle diagnosing and treating a very common childhood illness. If i hadnt demanded ice to control the fever my son could have easily had a siezure. Think about that next time you consider visiting this hospital -Sincerely One Very Pissed Off Parent!

I have rarely had any reason to complain about SCH in any capacity. Until today(12/23/16) I presented to the ER with moderately severe seizure activity. The receptionist (who was very nice & professional) notified the triage RN I was here & she said she would be right there. This was at 2:30pm. Then it was 2:45. Still no Triage nurse. The receptionist called them again. Shell be right there. 3:00 & STILL no Triage nurse. I have been seizing the entire time I am in the ER. And I am the ONLY person in the ER! About 3:10, my seizure had let up. And the triage nurse finally appeared. But since my seizure had resolved, I told her Im leaving so dont bother hurrying so much. I am disgusted. They are going to say it was change of shift. Bull. I was here 30 minutes before change of shift. They had 1/2 an hour to assess me. With seizure activity. And didnt. Unacceptable. I hope this doesnt happen to anyone else.

I bought my son into the ER with complaints of a headache and not feeling well... two days of school missed and the ER dr was so ingroant and didnt have a bedside manor at all! The kept asking me why didnt treat him at home and "ur not giving me anything " the dr was rude and wasnt nice by far! Evangeical is much nicer hospital never comming here again!

Worst hospital ever in er room since 1:00 pm now 9:00 pm and still waiting for room went to desk to ask what was taking so long and nurses playing on their phones and response, was i am waiting for my supervisor to come so i can go home. Never will come to this Hospital!! Suggesting to go to Evangelical in Lewisburg

Receptionist doesnt care, you can tell she hates her job. The nurse is not child friendly either. The doctor is horrible and doesnt take anything serious. Im curious how this place is still running. Dont take your kids here. Horrible, horrible, horrible. Just make the drive to evan or geisinger.

Friendly, well-organized, efficient community hospital. Everything happened correctly and on schedule. I would recommend this hospital to a friend or family member.
