When I got there for my mild chest pain and shortness of breath , I had to go in the waiting room for hours and hours . They put this teen boy out there throwing up like crazy and crying and I believe they should took him in fit help because he couldnt stop throwing up and everyone was just so disgusted sound like he was dying . Then when I was called to take pics of my heart , the lady had a nasty attitude towards me , kept giving me the stink eye . But Ash Gonzales was a very nice person and really bubbly . But after going back in the waiting room still waiting for hours . They called me in another rude room pointed to another room and told go to my room and I was so lost and she rolled her eyes and sighed and directed me to it . My doctor took an 1hr to get there . Told me her name and her assistance name said they will take my urine and X-ray , she had a bad attitude as well , rolling her eyes , barely talking , or nothing , they said theyll be back never did I waited 2hrs for them and never returned . A very helpful woman helped me out and when I went in the bathroom . Disgusting as hell . Pee on the floor . Napkins and poop on the in the toliet and a pee cup in the bathroom. After that took a long time for someone else to come and let me sign paperwork and shes not good or active listener . When I went to take X-rays the man there he told take my bra off and tell him when to come in when I tried to tell him he was gone and talking to somebody he did not still listen , I think he was arguing with them . After X-rays he told me hell be outside when I put my bra on when I was done he was officially gone . Then when I was in the tv room they said Im discharged and they dont know whats wrong with me . All that time for nothing. See a man die in front of me , a women roaming around uncontrollive cursing people out naked , hrs of here a kid throw up for help , all these attitudes I have and etc and yall said I dont know

I am not a patient at this hospital, however, I am sitting directly in front of the hospital awaiting my sisters departure, & staff members & patients, together, are seated directly in front of the childrens emergency entrance smoking cigarettes while parents are rushing in their sick children through the haze of smoke! One would think that hospital staff would have more sense but they obviously dontcare. It is bad enough that this facility-hard to call it a hospital that takes care of sick people-does not have a "no smoking" policy on the grounds, but, worse, these ill-professional people would smoke, with patients, in front of the entrance of the emergency entrance for sick children! I hate to rate it with one star. Just bcause this is a high-poverty, working class area does not mean that the community doesnT deserve quality care & standards of excellence to improve the care & quality of this hospital-choices, well either get it right or close it down-oh, I forgot, keep it open so that "these people" wont dare leave their neighborhood & have the audacity to seek quality care elsewhere, especially at Sibley, Georgetown, or George Washington-only allow them to get as far as Washington Hospital Center if they can afford it & have proper insurance! Lord, help us!

I was in the ER lobby one day you would think you was at a elementary school playground.Grown ass people talking extremely loud laughing top of there lungs calling people names very rude I mean it was like 15 people who was very very loud the security guards had to tell them 5 times to keep their voices down this is a hospital they cant hear no one on the phones . The lady at the desk said those people are not sick at all so they stop calling names for people to come to the back for hour and 54 minutes. One of the loud people had gone up to the desk and ask why nobody calling names. The lady at the desk said oh we thought nobody was sick in the lobby so we did not rush to call any names I laughed my ass off to my self .then they called my name over all of them I went straight to the back to the ER and they all was there before me .so when I got to the back it was like 5 empty beds back there. Doctor took care of me I felt good 45 minutes later 20 minutes after that they discharged me left out those same damn people was steal sitting in the lobby.

Horrible!!!! I had a friend that was transported there for an emergency and she passed away minutes before I got there, I was distraught and as I asked about her, I was told by some rude ass, Ugly, fake hair high yellow woman behind the desk. She told me I had to wait because i was not the immediate family (which i could understand) She looked and gritted on me (which I expected) sitting next to some fat unkempt, ungroomed looking fake security guard that has white powdered sugar around his lips from eating white powdered doughnuts i suspected. VERY Unprofessional. I waited for 45 minutes as they Laughed (about some stupid jokes they were telling) and did everything BUT their job duties. I would rather die than be transported to this dirty, stinky, hole in the wall of a Hospital ! Then again, you have to take into consideration where you are! :(

If you are dieing and dont want to live any more come here I come here because there is free parking and its convenient but convience isnt always good from the time you walk in till the time you walk out you deal with attitudes all they do is prescribe ibpropen 800 for ANY AND ALL PAIN! and a cane if you sprained or broken you knew,foot,ankle. These people are a damn joke here I am sitting here writing this review its 6:02pm I have been. Here since 1:50. Everytime I speak to the manager she say I apologize no how many times are u gonna apologize and it just keeps happening Im in pain and have to deal with your peoples attitude not gonna happen if I turn into an angry black women then Im wrong STAY AWAY FAR FAR AWAY THEY WILL KILL YOU?!!!

Grade -F......Emergency room is a joke. Very dirty hospital and the employees should not be working in a hosptial environment......no empathy including the doctors. Waited over 3 hrs and finally had to go find someone to help Mom. When she arrived they put her in a bed in a emergency room bay and left her there. She still had her coat on and the nurses and everyone else was sitting around talking and laughing. The doctor there, and get this there was only one on duty, Dr. Banks acted like she wished she was not there. No empathy, and very very rude. Dr. Banks needs to be trained in how to speak with family members and not act like it is her way or the highway. Very rude woman. This hospital needs to be closed down.

Better than expected. Coming from bolling with a toddler we wanted to get close but werent sure about the neighborhood. Pleasantly surprised they had a separate kids ER which was clean, nicely decorated and friendly. We waited a long time which I would expect that at 8pm on a Thursday but seemed like the staff was in zero hurry. Our son had stuck a qtip too far into his ear which caused a little bleeding. We came in just in case to be sure nothing was ruptured. 2 hours later someone finally looked in his ear. RNs at most places i think could have done this? I realize more critical cases could bump us but there were only a few patients and a ton of staff sitting around just passing the time.
