With no exaggeration, I can truly say...,thus far ,JH Hospital has got " to have the kindest, most informative and helpful employees, from the valet attendant, to the front desk, the echo center techs to the care I received even being wheeled back to my car, (thank you so much Mrs Margo, ) The empathy Iv received was from staff,.. Drs. Wow,heres the issue! its there way or,...way." after 7hr drive for the 6th time.. no questions answered, walked out on myself and husband, after Having us drive 7 hrs, with the idea it needed to be done quickly, even if your in the hole, because you have been to sick to work, and all you want is Help.. . To get a Dr (Dr. Resar) who claimed, youll be meeting surgeons and talking of what we can do.. then, Dr. Conte" the big "kahunna" walked in ,called out Dr. Resar, came back in, said your not needing further care, our responce ..shocked, ,we both were, literally, no answers no referrals & here I went several times ( they received there payment from my insurance, and not Medicaid,) hoping for a new lease on life, and the knowledge of this large but beautiful facility,it seems, I was lucky enough to what.. become more ill, sad but true, but at least was seen ,not here, but at another hospital. would say, No".. this hospital has great techs , nurses, and customer service.. but was blown off By the Drs. ..BTW, I did need surgery and they ignored any questions and made a assumption of my health ..on what, I taught for yrs. I was educated, did all I could, on my own.. I know my body, and after dealing with heart conditions most of my life,(but if you are, as myself almost 50, look younger, dont appear sick enough, I have liver issues as well and all I was told was, you should not sunbathe so much, Im irish, freckles, but darker skin, couldnt possibly be another reason.. I havent sunbathed in yrs by the way") I knew eventually ,repairs would be needed, is it right, to allow a human to have irreversible damage because of ??? Thank you to all at the " Zayered Tower" for whom were so kind. But I wouldnt recommend this place unless your that particular Drs. Patient . For if not, you may find yourself with labeling, and no Dr. At all, not Until either worsening or death. Do your research and question anything you feel uncomfortable with. Also, Thats what they get paid for.. not a 2 min. Consult where your Insurance pays outrageous prices ,you pay a huge copay, and walk out, in my case ,wheeled and crutched out.. with the feeling of helplessness, and the arrogance of that Dr. Who not knowing a thing of you, has the audacity to make judgement call based on ,no history... is all here bad, Im sure not, but again, be sure who your seeing, do they have your history, know what test you had or need and are they overwhelmed with to many patients to give you that attention or thinking of the next patient waiting, rush, rush, rush, For Time" is money, and the Hippocratic Oath," Do no Harm ..may had been lost to them, along time ago.. sorry for the length of this., but I dont want another patient to go thru, what Iv experienced Thankyou, and good luck, hope you know who your seeing, & always get a 2nd opinion, " it may save Your Life"

I have so many complaints im not even sure where to start. My husband had to go in because he has been having massive headaches and he was refereed here because it is suppose to be the best as far as this is concerned. After being on the phone for over a hour and being transferred to about five different people I was able to make an appointment that was for a month away. With this huge hospital you would figure they could find a closer time for him to come in. I just think they wanted him to come into the er spend about 700 dollars and then see him. Anyway after he gets a headache with them trying to say he cant use his insurance and wanting him to pay 200 dollars out of pocket just so the doctor can ask a bunch of questions saying "Yes, it seems like you have some issues." No duh , we would not have come here if our primary doctor didnt feel it was necessary. I swear by the end of the day I though my husband he was going to explode from the frustration this stupid doctor gave us. Well he tells us that he will need surgery and that it should help with the headaches. We go in to get this done and the Or area was a mess. I was so afraid for my husband and I worry that even now while he is recovering something might have gone wrong. Its cost almost 5000 dollars if not more to get this done and hes been home for a month and it seems like their is no chance. I swear to god Hopkins! A side note is that I have a few friends that work in the hospital and they warned me about going here. They themselves would never put their life in the hands of this place. Not only are the doctors jerks and see you nothing more as a number a lot of the nurses are horrible people to the visors and to the other workers. I mean I saw a nurse yelling at one of the housekeepers because of something she could have done herself! Are your serious?? Are you telling me that you cant change a toilet paper dispenser and have to call for a housekeeper to do it? Are you that stuck up that something you would do in your home you refuse to do at work because you dont get paid to do it. And that is why I gave the Housekeeper my tip and told the nurse to piss off. I just hope that things turn out well for my husband and he just needs more time. I will never let him set foot in there again. If I ever get in trouble and the people want to take me here I would scream at them to take me somewhere else. It was just horrible for me. NEVER AGAIN!

Amazing. Literally, every single person I interacted with was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, actually listened to me, and had incredible bedside manner. Plus, they really are the best of the best and work in teams. After years of going to St. Joseph Medical Center and GBMC (which are supposed to be reputable, but have both misdiagnosed me or not diagnosed serious disorders), I finally decided that I needed to go to the BEST to get an actual answer. It turns out a brain tumor had been overlooked by these two hospitals for four years! I cant lie, waiting at the Hopkins ER is absolute hell. I waited for 12 hours. But, if you know something isnt right and have a serious health concern and actually want to live and get a proper answer, put yourself through the 12 hours of misery to see the brilliant minds here. They found my brain tumor, and it was removed beautifully by my amazing neurosurgeon, Dr. Chaichana. I owe my life, plus the ability to walk, move my limbs, and talk, to Dr. Chaichana and the amazing team at Hopkins both in the ER and the entire neurosurgery team. If your insurance covers it, and you live in Baltimore (or close) dont risk going anyplace else. After staying here, and even including the ER (once I finally got a bed), I realize what crap treatment (or lack of) Ive received elsewhere. I will NEVER see a non-Hopkins affiliated doctor for any reason, ever again. My children will be born here. I cannot believe that for so many years, Ive taken for granted that arguably the best hospital in the world is in the city that I live in. They saved my life and provided me with the best care and attention.
