Let me just say the service I received from Dr. Jared Fisher was as good as any Ive received from anyone. In any industry. Ever. Heres the situation. I was getting married in Charleston at 4:30 pm. I woke up that morning with red, watery, itchy, pained eyes. Needless to say, I was freaking out. Luckily I located Jackson Davenports address online and drove to their office. Dr. Fisher gave me an exam, provided me with the necessary medication, and offered to see me again in the afternoon! I gladly took him up on it, saw him two hours before the ceremony, and he gave me a follow-up exam and provided priceless advice. My ceremony with off w/out a hitch and I owe it all to Dr. Fishers expertise, patience, and kindheartedness. In my time of need, he went above and beyond and I cant thank him enough for it. If you are in need of an eye doctor, go to Dr. Fisher.

Dont waste your time. This store is obviously geared to selling sunglasses to tourists. After calling Jackson Davenport and being told that they accepted my vision insurance, I went downtown to look for glasses. When I got there, a saleslady came over and asked me how she could help. As soon as I told her I had vision insurance, you would have thought I had the plague. She got very frosty and snooty and told me that my vision insurance was essentially worthless. When I told her about calling to verify that they accepted my insurance, she said yes, but it really wasnt worth anything. I was much more polite than I should have been and left. I am a very patient person, but Ill never grace the door of Jackson Davenport ever again. The way I was treated was ridiculous.

I called to book an appointment and told the young lady what kind of insurance we had. I asked her if they accept that insurance and I was told they do. My husband and I both took the day off and hired a babysitter for this appointment. We were a little early for our appointment. I figured we could fill out paperwork and look around. I am then informed that they do accept my insurance but not the plan Im on!! The young lady at the desk said this happens from time to time with certain plans with my insurance. Well if it has happened from time to time you would think she could check just to make sure Im covered, right?? Well no!! She didnt and I wasted a whole day along with money for my babysitter!!

Many thanks to Lyndsey yesterday for all of her help...My wife had some new lenses for her glasses that came in and stopped by to pay for them...Somehow I managed to leave my wallet at home...Lyndsey said "No problem, just call me when you get home with your card number"...My next stop after JD was the grocery store so I needed my wallet anyway, so I ran back home and got my wallet and then headed back to JD...Paid for the lenses and then showed Lyndsey how the rubber piece around the frame of my Costas was coming apart..."No problem" she said...Pulled out a spare frame and popped my lenses into them and I was on my way... Thank you, Lyndsey!!!

I went to Jackson-Davenport Vision Center to have a pair of sunglasses fixed. As soon as I entered the store, I was greeted warmly by Cate. She was wonderful. She had my sunglasses repaired as I waited (five-minutes). After that, she gave me a fitting for the vintage eyeglasses I was wearing. Her 25-years of experience in the eyewear business (I learned this in passing conversation) told her that my eyeglasses sorely needed adjusting. When she was through, they felt like new. Cate was nice, thorough and professional. I couldnt have asked for better service.

I went to Jackson Davenport on a walk in appt. for an eye exam, glasses, and contacts. From Dr. Philbeck to Nancy D, each member of the team was on the ball- polite, helpful, and professional. The cost of my eye exam was very competitive with Walmart Vision Centers price, and the service was 1000 times better. They have of the designer brands that you could want, as well as a nice selection of cost efficient frames. I would recommend Jackson Davenport on King St. to anyone. They even have parking in the back of the building off of Calhoun St.

I have been a customer and patient of Jackson Davenport for 3 years now, and even though I only go in occasionally they still know my name. They are extremely helpful and friendly and charge very reasonable prices for lenses, frames and exams. I had to ask them to fax me a prescription out of state 3 different times and they were just as helpful and expedient as if I were there in the store. Great local business!

I am beyond satisfied with the service I received today in Jackson Davenport Vision Center. I called late on a Friday frantic to get new contacts before leaving town and needed a prescription. I was seen 30 minutes later and only spent about 20 minutes in there. Jared Fisher was so nice and helpful and made sure I was satisfied with everything. Thanks for everything!! Such a nice and accommodating staff!

This place is great, I took two pairs of broken sunglasses there and they fixed them for free even though I didnt buy them there, and were so nice about it. Its was so nice to be treated like I was important, that is rare these days. They had so many nice sunglasses I decided to go back and get another pair, also because of the warranty they come with since I am so good at destroying every pair I own.

After a contact lens mishap they were so eager and willing to help me with replacements (at no cost!!!)to get me through the rest of my trip! Cant say enough about this place. The people remember your name every time you go in there. Just because its downtown, dont think its going to be more expensive- because its not. I have no reason to go to any other place for sunglasses or my eye care. I drive from Summerville and refuse to go any where else.

My husband bought me a pair of sunglasses for my birthday but they did not fit correctly. Returned them and bought a much cheaper pair that fit correctly. I heard the sales clerk tell the clerk that was helping me to tell me they were the same cost. Not very ethical or very good business. Will not be back.
