Have two great danes. I have the normal check up and exams done and got there Trifexis from this vet. The veterinarians there do a good job and are very nice. The first vet visit was expensive but breaking it down it was reasonable. The 6 months of Trifexis was like 132 for one dog and the bigger dog needs two pills so his is 132 for 120 and he needs the 20 pound pill for 119. All for 6 month so 383 fpr both dogs for 6 months. Which online I could have saved 14 dollars 7 per dog. There shots were a normal 20 for the borderlands per dog, heartworm test 39 per dog, the exams was 47 per dog. One cannine da2pp vaccine. So pretty average for the 627.00 for two larg dogs. The second vet visit was for lump on my female great dane. The exam was 47. The fine needle aspirate with cytology was 32. Which just taking a cell sample and looking at it under a microscope to determine if its cancerous or not. Prescribed rimadyl which is for inflammation and arthritis. She has been on this before and responds well to it. Its a normal med for her so a 60 count 100mg is 129.50. I give her this ever other day so this will last for 4 months. Its prescribed for one a day or none every other day. I find online that there 48 on petmeds or altereeia for 76. So a little pricey on that. Total bill 213.45. I could saved 80 dollars online for the pet meds but given that this vet was recommended by the great danes of the Carolinas society or at least when the great dane dog show came here they were on the recommended vet to visit if needed. So I would say I am happy with them. They have done a good job and they are very nice. They did give me an estimate for removal of the lump if needed but this usually goes away with the medication. The estimate was anesthetic 135.00, iv, 45.00, anesthesia (inhalant), anesthesia block 28.00, removal of cyst 160.00, cephalexin 500 MG 20 of them 21.00, tramadol 50mg for 14 of them 21.00 , rimadyl 75mg 14 of them 32.46. Total 520.96 maybe 568.96. For a cyst removal. So some what pricey but not unreasonably. Overall this veterinarian is a pretty good one and the fact that great dane society gave them a recommendation is the reason why I chose this vet. I hold that on higher regard then anything its somewhat hard to get the great dane society to give a recommendation without them have extensive experience with that vet personally. I have not been in myrtle Beach more then a month or 2 and this is the first vet I have been to here. Overall the only vet I like more them them would be the brown creek in polkton north Carolina and just because they are cheaper and give a excellent level of care. My two dogs have lived in Charlotte NC and sacramento California and wadesboro nc and all vets there were good vets and the prices were the same except with brown creek. So overall care was perfect and the price for medication was little bit cheaper online and the care cost was normal for most vets.

Most of us would agree in that having your pet coming down with sickness is as stressful as if the same was happening to your children, especially if you are 100s of miles away from your home while on vacation. And that is exactly what happened to us while visiting Myrtle Beach. Since we didn’t know where to take our baby Chloe (Jack Russell), I depended on Google Reviews to point us in the right direction and that is how we found Veterinary Clinic of Myrtle Beach and Dr. Amanda Thomas DVM. The first good impressions were provided by the attentive and cordial office staff and the pleasant and refreshing look of their renovated office. Both obviously translate to a labor of love. Immediate impressions of Dr. Amanda Thomas are that she is a bright, attentive, and friendly-skilled veterinarian that obviously loves her profession. She is very pleasant and her demeanor gives you immediate reassurance that she is very qualified and is there to help. My recommendation to other pet owners is to be prepared to clearly detail the symptoms that you have observed on your pet and to be assured that Dr. Thomas will be giving you her full attention as you speak. After that, move back and allow her and her team to assess the situation. At that point, you need to be attentive as she will give you clear and specifics options for treatment or explain the benefits of additional diagnostic tests if they are required; all in a friendly and respectful way. We have a very good veterinarian in our town, but I surely wish that we had Dr. Thomas as she is definitely a unique individual that deeply cares about the patient and their family. God bless Veterinary Clinic of Myrtle Beach, Dr. Amanda Thomas and her staff. V/r, Ed Hernandez

My first vist turned out to be a serious illness for my dog Rosie. Dr. Pennington and the staff did a wonderful job explaining her condition. Rosey was failing fast. This practice has something I have never seen before. When it is time to say goodbye to your your furry family member, they have a special room. A place of reflection that is like a piece of home. The setting helps the pet and the owner say goodbye in the most humane way. This level of love, for animals and their owners, will always be remembered.

Excellent. First time here and we loved it. Dr. Thomas was so kind and compassionate and explained everything she was doing as she went along. Very patient. Caring. The whole staff was friendly and it was a perfect experience. The appointment was for my dogs yearly wellness exam and vaccines. To say the least I am very impressed and highly recommend this practice to anyone in the area looking for a wonderful, loving place to take your furry babies. A+ for Them !!!!!!! Wendy Smith

While on vacation my golden doodle got sick. Not knowing where to go we picked the vet that could see her quickest. Dr Pennington and staff were wonderful. They took excellent care of Darby and of me. They managed to soothe my nerves and reassure me that everything would be fine. They gave Darby a through check up and were so good with her. I would highly recommend them to anyone I know and believe me. Im very picky with it comes to my dog.

Drs. Thomas, Pennington and Staff are professional, extremely caring/personable, knowledgeable and patient. They take extra time when needed to explain, listen and answer questions/concerns regarding your pet or the necessity of referrals for oncology, cardiology, medications, etc.. Truly a top-notch group who care about ones well being and peace of mind as well as provide the best possible care for you pet.

Both Dr. Thomas and Dr. Pennington are great, they are excellent communicators, take time to give thorough explanations, and seem to be skilled at diagnosing problems. The staff is friendly, knowledgable, and make you and your pet feel welcome. I never have to wait more than 5 minutes to see a doctor, and the building is really well done and well cared for. Lovely veterinary practice!
