This is a real review from a real patient. I went to Indian Lake Family Dental in Oct. 2014. I had a fine experience. I needed a general cleaning after a few months had passed since I was due for one. I am usually pretty regular about getting cleanings. I was relatively pleased with the cleaning. The things I didnt like were that they tried to squeeze every penny out of me that they could. I felt like they overly emphasized the need to drill and fill soft spots in my teeth that my previous dentist thought were fine just so they could get the money for fillings. They were also not particularly friendly at the front desk. Admittedly, I was running 10 or so minutes late for my appointment. But no other patients were in the office when I arrived when they said they would try their best to fit in what they could....? Maybe one other lady came in during my appointment. Im sort of befuddled why they would try to put down a potential new patient. Pushing procedures on me and giving me a sort of cold shoulder for being 10 minutes late were signs I ignored at first but shouldnt have. I later encouraged my husband to get his teeth cleaned because its so important for your health. I made him an appointment for a cleaning at 7 in the morning. I didnt go with him but he reported to me that they made him wait 1 hour before taking him back. Many other people went before him, for some unknown reason. He had to rush to work right after and so asked them to fit it in quickly. Somehow, instead of giving him the cleaning he had gone there for in the first place they diverted from what they were asked to do and began discussing his wisdom teeth. They did multiple x-rays of his wisdom teeth (were those covered by insurance? if not, I guess I know why they were so anxious to do them) and did not do any cleaning. What a waste of his time. Now I have to get him to a new appointment just for a cleaning which would have taken 15 minutes to do the first time. Ridiculous! It is a major disappointment that this place was unable to treat their potential new patients courteously or to actually complete services that were requested. It would have been much more appropriate to make an appointment to discuss any wisdom teeth problems at a later date - especially after making one wait for an hour. Neither of us will be going back or recommending this place to anyone we know.

I was in a lot of pain and called on a Friday. They were all so kind and not to only patients but each other as well. They constantly thanked each other. So much that I asked who trained them for this and the response is just that they just enjoy it because its a full circle and it makes Their job easier to be this way. I did have a little bit of a wait but this was explained thoroughly up front when I called as if was explained I was being worked in but, that they would do the best they could to get me out of pain. The cost with insurance was explained very well and also the treatment I needed. Even the ladies in the business office knew clinical information. And not only this but their information was all so consistent it made me feel I was in good hands. Dr. Sims was so fast and awesome. Im glad to have found my new dental home. To the bad reviews about money and wait times thats all to be expected especially in healthcare. If you want an amazing dentist and good dental work the wait time is a little concern. Money is what it is. Compare to anyone in the area and the prices are consistent not any more and not less but Id be more concerned if it was less. These are my teeth!

4 stars - Pros: nice people, good service, excellent scheduling, fair pricing. Cons: up-sell procedures. Ive been going to Indian Lake Family Dental since I relocated to TN 5 years ago. The atmosphere and new location is very clean and accommodating. As with most dental offices, the staff seems encouraged to "up-sell" you into procedures for optimal care, however may not be required. When I refused an expensive treatment, they made me sign a waiver which was offensive to me. Since then, they seem to realize Im no nonsense about my dental care, and I dont get pressured into procedures. Having said that, I now know they replaced my silver cavities with new white ones which were up-sells I wasnt aware of. Yes, they look much nicer, but I paid the difference out of pocket. Overall the folks are very nice - they do have the wacky headsets, but OK, they are trying to be more efficient. I had to wait once for a long time in an empty waiting room (I think someone was late from lunch), but usually quick to get to me. Indian Lake Family Dental is a quality location for dental procedures, but disappointed when any medical professional "markets" procedures to patients.

Dr. Sims refused treatment to fix the botched veneer they did. I saw 3 dentists in this office for this procedure! The first one left the office. Too many headsets and strange behavior by the staff... Having to announce to someone through a headset that they "have me" and theyre "bringing me to the front desk to check out" when the front desk is 30 feet away makes you wonder what kind of "institution" you are in... creepy... but the services were the worst... especially when the PATIENT had to ask for a bite check because they forgot to do it... on two occasions! The first veneer came back from the lab wrong. The second one had to be put on twice... terrible.

They do NOT care about your health - they only care about money. My family happened to go because we had a coupon for cleanings. They told my sister she had 12 cavities, and unfortunately she had 4 filled. When we went back to our old dentist, they said she never had cavities and we had to pay the old dentist to fix the work Indian Famoly Dental did! When my dad went, they told him he had cancer and it would cost thousands. Guess what - he went to his old dentist for a second opinion and he never had cancer. I really wish we could take legal action because this business ripping people off greatly upsets me. Please dont support this scam!

My whole family has been going to Indian Lake Family Dental for over seven years. We have never had an issue in all of that time. I think that they genuinely care for you and your dental health, they work with you if you have an appointment scheduling conflict and make suggestions to better your smile. They work with you through insurance and CareCredit to help with all of your dental needs. Dr. Sims personally comes in to check on my Invisalign improvement and has even jumped in to clean my teeth if the other staff were busy. My daughter love to go to the dentist and my husband doesnt mind it either. Thank you for all that you do!

Watch this office! They are all over the place. The last visit I had for fillings the dentist was all over the place room to room I had to sit with a bridge in my mouth for over 30 minutes waiting on him to come do another filling. Then they told me I didnt owe anything at the time of visit and are now trying to bill me $134 almost a year later bc THEY forgot to bill my insurance. When I asked they said it was my insurance fault which was a lie they didnt submit the claim until the end of november. Then called me a week later saying if I didnt pay it would go to collections. Their office is completely unorganized
