I am in Hendersonville for the summer. I got an infection because of my wisdom tooth coming in and needed to see a dentist ASAP. When I called the office whoever I spoke to was extremely polite. I went in to fill out a new patient form and spoke with a different lady other than the one I spoke to on the phone. I told her my issue as well that I was out of state. I am still on my parents insurance and had to do all of this on my own. The way she acted towards me it seemed as though she could really care less. She spoke to me as if I was supposed to know everything about my dental insurance (I am 20 years old and had to have my dad send me a picture of the insure card mind you.) I just felt as though she had better things to do then help me. They had to call my insurance for whatever reason (she did not explain any of this to me, instead I had to text my mom asking why I was waiting) and told me I could see the dentist at 11:00. I never got an update and waited 45 minutes (now 11:15) before a hygentist came and got me. Literally sitting there without an update, not sure whats going on, for 45 minutes. I was honestly about to leave and go somewhere else. The hygentist/dental assistant was nice but she seemed in a hurry or nervous. Now Im kinda worried to see what the dentist is like and to allow him or her to mess around with my infection. I didnt wait long for the dentist. He was nice, but not personable at all. Told me I had an infection, put me on antibiotics, and briefly explained what was going on in my mouth. I came to this dentist because I saw good reviews online, but I truly didnt not get what was expected. At my dentist back home, if you wait more than 10 minutes, you get an update so you are not left questioning whats going on. The hygentists take their time, explain everything, and treat you like family. The dentist, is the most personable man youd ever meet. He explains everything so when you walk out you know whats going on in your own mouth. He also has a conversation and asks about you. I didnt get any of that here. Maybe it was because I was a new patient, maybe it was because everyone had better things to do, who really knows. I had to call my dentist back home to confirm what the dentist here told me because I didnt fully understand what was going on with my own tooth - thats kinda sad. Would I reccomend? Sure, its clean, but I would definitely tell the person if youre looking for a place that treats new patients like a dust particle and isnt personable to you - go make an appointment. (Giving 3 stars because it was very clean, that is all.)

About 2 years ago I went to see Dr. Harbin. I had not gone to the dentist in years as I had only had bad experiences in the past. From the moment I walked in the door the staff at Hendersonville Family Dentistry went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. I was amazed at how thorough and understanding they were. For years I had dealt with overcrowding of my teeth and the yellowing effects of too much coffee, tea and cigarette smoke. I thought that a perfect white smile was something that I would never have. Not only did Dr. Harbin give me that smile, but he gave me a sense of confidence that I had never had before. Through the entire process my options were laid out and explained so that I would have a very thorough understanding about what was going on. It has been over a year since the new smile was placed and I still get compliments and people asking me what I do to have such a great smile. I simply say, "I have a phenomenal dentist!" I recommend all of my friends and coworkers to Dr. Harbin as well. If you are uneasy about going to the dentist, scared, or just do not know which dentist to see then Dr. Harbin and his staff at Hendersonville Family Dentistry is definitely the dentist for you!

Im not terribly excited about having to purchase a crown for my tooth (who is though, right?). But I will say my experience today was wonderful. I havent seen a dentist in 6 years because my last experiende elsewhere was not a good one. Last night my crown fell off and I swallowed it. I called in this morning and they got me in today (just like their promise says on their website). I was a nervous wreck, even crying on the way there because I was so nervous. When I arrived, everyone was extremely nice and understanding of my anxiety about seeing the dentist. They reassured me and the entire process was smooth. They gave me a tour at the beginning which helped me feel at ease. They also answered all of my questions as I had them. They were very clear about the process and what it would entail. The dentist and his assistant were amazing. I felt no pain at all and they were gentle. I wish there was a discount of sorts for those without insurance (or maybe the price they gave me already had the disxount, Im not sure). Other than that, I really had a great experience!

I never imagined a dentist office exceeding my expectations, but thats exactly what happened when I had my first visit to Hendersonville Family Dentistry. From the moment I walked in to the moment I left, the staff provided an extremely calm and friendly atmosphere. Since it was my first time, I was taken on a tour, providing me with information about the doctors I was about to see. Whats funny is the computers were down and I thought the staff handled it with ease and grace! They were friendly and realistic about the situation. Even in a time of crisis, they still managed to make me feel comfortable and maintained a professional atmosphere. Alex cleaned my teeth and she was fun and professional. A wonderful mix! I will certainly be back to see her again. Dr. Scott Harbin also worked on me and he was just as fun and professional. You can tell the staff really likes each other, too. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone. I cant brag on them enough! A true 5 star establishment!

What a great office! My husband and I moved from Connecticut 3 years ago and neither of us had been to dentist since the move. Needless to say, we were nervous going in for checkups. Hendersonville family dentist made us feel at ease from the minute we walked in the door. The staff was knowledgable and efficient. Both Drs. took the time to meet with and speak with us about our dental issues. I am terrified by dentists offices due to a childhood trauma, but for the first time in a very long time I actually felt comfortable being in the chair. My hygienist, Angelina was a sweetie-she did a great job and took a few extra minutes to explain the procedures. She also was ver solicitous during the procedure-making sure I was comfortable and in no pain as she went along. I wish we had found this office sooner, but at least I know now that things arent that bad. I will be back regularly to stay up on my dental health.
