Ive used all of their dentists at one point in time; and will not be going back. They were polite enough, and got me in reasonably & their front desk was on point. That being said, I at one time went in for a "cleaning" the assistant thought itd be a good idea to polish first to "try and get off the extra gunk" She ended up drilling out one of my fillings then didnt say anything to me about it, just ended up writing a 30 minute diatribe before giving me some nasty brown concoction to rinse with. Needless to say I had to get that tooth pulled.....to which I let another of their dentists do it. I then went to use that dentist in hopes perhaps he would treat me more like a patient then a number. So I was letting him do a filling, and specifically told him before the procedure "Do NOT use metal fillings" and he even repeated and agreed. Did the drilling and put metal fillings in my mouth anyways (seemed more interested in the college aged assistant then my mouth) Then when he asked me why I was freaking out, I told him "I told you not to put metal in my mouth and you did it anyways" he then says "Yes, yes you did. But I figured where it was at would be held better with the metal filling. I could drill it out for you and refill it if you want." Even though he already drilled out close to 80% of my tooth; he then stated that "if it held out over a year he wasnt liable"......I then went back in to have one removed, since he had did a fine job on the first removal. This particular tooth was rather infected however; and he deemed it proper to knock me unconscious. Which I understand with the circumstances why this would be a good idea; I would however have liked to have been informed he was going to do this, all he told me was "if you feel tired, just go to sleep" before cutting off my oxygen supply and upping my N02 to knock me unconscious. After waking up and feeling borderline violated Ive never been back. Also on a side note; one of their dentists called my mother fat (shed been going there much longer then I have & has much less teeth problems then I & is the sweetest lady I know). Very disappointed considering all the good reviews they received; even considered litigation for a while....would not recommend.

This is an amazing practice! The waiting room is like a spa--tranquil teals and browns, calming music, free coffee and water, and just super clean. Its a very calming atmosphere. Everyone is so friendly, especially my hygienist Pam. Ive seen 2 of the 4 dentists on staff over my 3 years as a patient here, and theyve both been excellent. (Thanks, Dr. Rothrock and Dr. Jones!) I saw the same dentist back in West Virginia for 25 years, and my experience was less than ideal with constant pressure to pay for senseless cosmetic procedures (one time they even asked if I wanted to laser trim my gums so that my teeth would look bigger), even after telling them to make a note in my file that I wasnt interested. I feel like I really lucked out choosing my dentist here in Indiana because at Liberty Family Dentistry, there is none of that pressure. Dont want to get a fluoride treatment after your cleaning? No problem, no pressure. I havent needed any procedures at this practice, just cleanings and X-rays, but Id feel very confident having any of these professionals work in my mouth. I feel certain they would never do anything without a detailed description, verbal consent, and narration along the way. Seriously, I cant recommend this place enough! Dont forget to pick up some free coconut SPF lip balm, a pen, and a to-do list pad on your way out!

My experience at this dentistry has been mixed. Been there two times was led by all the positive reviews. My hygienist was nice and helpful but the office staff were very rude. Beware that you can be charged hundreds of dollars for services that you can get for free elsewhere in Bloomington (with insurance coverage, of course). I was charged $100 plus dollars for teeth cleaning because they said I needed a comprehensive cleaning! My friend from India had gone through the same process (two hours long tooth by tooth cleaning) at another very reputable dentistry in the town and he was not charged a penny. Both my friend and I have the same insurance through the University. When I called The Liberty Family Dentistry to check why I was charged for the same service that my friend received for free elsewhere, the woman yelled at me over phone and said that burgers from McDonalds and Burger King are differently priced, so is their services! So, if you are an international/student like me, please check with other dentists offices before you commit to anything with Liberty. They seem to suffer in superiority complex and charge extra money for the same services that can be obtained for free or cheap elsewhere.

Our family has been going to Liberty Family Dentistry for around 13 years now, and Im not going to lie; we originally picked them because we heard they had free video games in the waiting room for the kids (made them seem family-friendly)! The years since have proven them to truly be that family-friendly. When our kids were young, they did everything possible to make it non-scary by explaining everything they were doing as they were doing it. For fillings, they weigh each situation individually and have often been able to fill teeth without numbing the mouth, which is awesome, for adults AND kids. When a tooth extraction on one daughter ended up being a lot more difficult and painful than anticipated, Dr. Rothrock called me personally that evening to check on her. When I had a small billing misunderstanding, Dr. Jones called me personally to straighten it out and make sure everything was okay. Whenever they see anyone in our family mentioned in the paper, they cut out the article, laminate it, and send it to us. They definitely make us feel like much more than a number, which is increasingly unusual in this day and age of healthcare. Liberty Family Dentistry ROCKS!!

Ive been going to Liberty Family Dentistry for several years now, and am so glad that I found their office. I initially choose them because of their good reviews, and they have lived up to them. Anthony is my main hygienist that I see and its always nice catching up while I am there. He does a great job sprucing up my teeth, and finds ways to place the bite wings for X-rays that get the office what it needs without hurting my tiny mouth. Ive also seen a few other hygienists on different occasions and they have all also been friendly, welcoming, and positive. They do a great job of cleaning your teeth and are thorough, while also being gentle. Ive never left with my mouth feeling sore from an overly vigorous cleaning as has happened at other dentists offices. Im not overly familiar with the dentists on staff as Ive only seen them for a few minutes at the end of each cleaning, but they have all been congenial and happy to talk with me during their final check. Ive only been to Liberty for normal checkups, but I know they offer many other services, and if it became necessary for me to use these services, I definitely would stick with Liberty.
