We were traveling from Gulf Shores, AL back home to Louisville, KY when we stopped overnight in Nashville on Friday, August 8th. Saturday morning, I noticed that my 3-month-old special needs kitten Forrest wasnt able to urinate and I wasnt able to express his bladder. I feared he was blocked with stones, so we called the clinic and they scheduled us an appointment within an hour and we headed to the clinic. We were greeted by a very nice receptionist and we filled out new client paperwork. Then, Stephan, the absolute best vet tech I have ever seen (Im a pre-vet student who has shadowed at eight different clinics) took us into an exam room and began to look over Forrest. He was so intelligent and caring that my parents thought he was the vet! Dr. Waldrop came in next and tried to catheterize Forrest several times in the room before deciding to anesthetize him and catheterize him in the back. He allowed me to observe the entire procedure, which I really appreciated. Dr. Waldrop got Forrest unblocked and gave us a different antibiotic, as well as a sample of Royal Canin SO food to help dissolve the remaining stones. Stephan also sent Forrest home with a handmade toy, which was a really sweet gesture. If we had waited any longer to get Forrest treated, he easily could have died of kidney failure, as urethral blockages in male cats can be deadly. I cannot say enough nice things about Nashville Cat Clinic! They go out of their way to make your cat comfortable, including taking the temperature in the ear (instead of in the rectum) and performing all procedures in the room if possible. Everything they do is aimed at making your cat as relaxed as possible, since cats tend to be notoriously anxious at vets offices. I would give them way more than 5 stars if I could! I tell everyone about this practice, and we will definitely consider bringing our other cats back since Nashville is less than three hours from Louisville! An excellent, excellent practice with one of the best sets of staff I have ever met.

Years ago, the Nashville Cat Clinic was literally a lifesaver when other vets gave up up and told us to say goodbye to a feline family member. Dr Waldrop is the gentlest and most caring veterinarian we could ever hope for, as well as an excellent diagnostician and surgeon. Over the years, we have learned to trust that he will figure out whats wrong, come up with the best treatment plan and do everything humanly possible to help our cats. We also know that when the time really does come to say goodbye to a very ill/elderly kitty, he will assist us with that in a most compassionate and respectful manner. Hes knowledgeable. Hes thorough. He loves his patients. In short, Dr Waldrop is a healer in the truest sense of the word.

Dr. Waldrop clearly loves cats, and gives good care. He always seems up to date on the newest research regarding cat health and medicine. Ive never had a cat problem he couldnt diagnose, and Ive given up going to other vets who are geographically closer to me but who are not as equipped to deal with cats and have gotten the diagnosis wrong once too often. It is important to me that I can take my cats to a veterinarian who is not in a practice where my cats are going to be exposed to barking dogs and other frightening sounds ("other" meaning, besides Stefan!). I think I get better veterinary care with Dr. Waldrop than with any other veterinarian to whom Ive ever taken a pet.

Moved to Nashville recently and took our three cats here for the first time. The entire staff was wonderful! Very friendly to talk with and very loving treatment of our cats. The vet took time to thoroughly answer any questions and the entire appointment felt relaxed and not rushed. They also have a variety of online resources and provide a lot of personalized follow-ups. Our cats even received e-cards for their birthdays! Its the little extra touches that really made the experience stand out for me.

They injured my cat while doing a procedure and a month later I had to have him put to sleep because of what was done at this clinic. I will NEVER take a cat here again. Had they advised me of what they did I could have saved my cats life but they pretended everything was fine. I feel like I have lost my child and dont know if I will ever recover! Please do yourself a favor and stay as far away from this place as you can.

A few years back I found this clinic out of desperation. My cat was not doing well and no vet I had taken him to could do any more than give him a steroid shot and look at me as if I was an abuser of animals. I found at the cat clinic a great vet staff and they diagnosed my cat in short order and he was back to his normal ornery self in no time. I have been coming back ever since. I highly recommend The Nashville Cat Clinic.

Ive been using the Nashville Cat Clinic for years. Both Dr. Waldrop and Dr. Ross are the finest and have been wonderful in the care of my geriatric cat. I recently had to put my 21 year old cat to sleep and could not have been made happier and made to feel welcome and reassured during the procedure. I recommend them for ALL feline veterinary needs. The staff has also been accomodating and have always treated me well.

They are always so patient, kind and helpful. I had to put my 17 yr old cat to sleep and they let me take as much time saying goodbye as I needed. They also let me be there during the process. It gave me great comfort that they handled him with care during his last moments and he wasnt traumatized. Anytime I have questions they are always eager to help. I wouldnt take my cat anywhere else!

Great. Dr. Waldrop is a top notch vet - knowledgeable and friendly. Waldrop is also open minded: we feed our cats raw rabbit which many vets do not understand/support and though Waldrop does not raw feed himself, he has always been supportive of us raw feeding (as long as you start cats young). I think he is likewise broad minded about other differences in pet care.

I am so impressed by Dr. Waldrop and staff. Dr. Waldrop took his time with the exam and patiently answered all of my questions. He personally called with the results of my cats blood work and again talked through any questions I had. I am so happy I found this place and highly recommend to anyone looking for a vet!

I wish this vet could see my dog. They are so loving and kind, they explain everything in detail before they do anything. Vet was very patient with all my questions and even called me at home several times for a follow up to check on the cat after a surgery. Very reasonable pricing and worth every cent!!!!

There are vet clinics in my neighborhood but I drive across town to the Nashville Cat Clinic for my Oscars care. They are tuned in to cats and their specific needs. The staff is always friendly, and Dr. Waldrop has quickly cured one nasty problem after another. I am totally pleased!
