My dog ruptured his CCL and needed TPLO surgery. I found VSS after I received a HUGE estimate from Gulf Coast Veterinary Services here in Houston. GCVS estimate was $5,500, not including follow up x-rays, pain killers, etc. It seems that they have a monopoly in the Houston area, and are well aware of it. VSS performed the procedure for less than half that, and did a great job, with very informative and comprehensive follow up. I even drove back to Austin to see them for my dogs follow up x-rays because they only charged $35 (my vet in Houston wanted almost $300!). I would absolutely recommend VSS to anyone in Austin, Houston, and the surrounding areas. Not only are they much more affordable, but their personal level of care is great. Cash dog thanks you all!

Like others, I was quoted an exorbitant price for my older cats surgery elsewhere. He has a regular vet that we like, but the surgical consult where we were referred was 5X what I paid here. I am so happy I got a 2nd opinion for my furbaby! Dr. Lewis spends his day doing fantastic, highly skilled surgeries. He has the appropriate overhead, knowledgeable and caring staff, and focus to do a terrific and efficient job! This model allows for wonderful cost savings. I would highly recommend.

From start to finish I loved everything about this place. We are so lucky in Austin to have a low cost veterinary surgical option of this caliber. They were so kind and loving to my dog, they were always got back to me quickly, took the time to answer ALL of my questions, and did a beautiful job removing and testing 4 MAST cell tumors on my dog, Pajamas. I highly recommend VSS.

We had such a wonderful experience! I went here for a 2nd opinion since the 1st place we went was ridiculously expensive. The prices here were much better and we were able to get my dogs surgery the next week. Everything went perfectly and my dog healed very well. The staff was super helpful and informative. Ill be back if we ever need surgery on any of the animals again
