I am writing with a heavy heart. I thought back and forth on writing and have decided to share with you our side of the experience we had. We let our dog out Sunday morning like any other morning to use the restroom. He was outside maybe 5 minutes, when he came back in he was struggling to breath, we immediately called and received the on-call number for Dr. Sterle. We called and were told she would call us back after breakfast (we completely understand its a Sunday and fathers day). So we called around to other clinics at this point his breathing was getting worse. We were waiting, waiting to hear back . My husband loaded him and and headed to Denton to be seen. Unfortunately his air way was closing to quickly and could not make it. Dr. Sterile did end up meeting them at the clinic but it was too late. Absolutely awful!!! He could have been treated, he was not a sick dog, nor old. I was not there but by the sounds of it all that was said was " I am sorry for being unavailable." Im writing in hopes that for your future patients if you chose to be on-call you act in more of an urgent manner, or maybe you should not have an on-call person if they cannot act urgently. This could have been prevented. We will not be bringing our future pets to this clinic. Obviously with the loss of our family pet, I am upset. However I truly feel this situation could have been handled much differently and our sweet dog would still be with us.

I lost my hunting buddy to parvo. They were in charge of making him better, but it was too late. It was something hard to take and out of anger and sadness, a bad review was previously written. After a few weeks of grieving our loss, we received a sympathy card from the vets office with a very touching poem within the card. Out of anger we blamed the vet, but at the end of the day we knew it was out of everyones hands. No case is ever the same and unfortunately, our buddy didnt make it out. Overall, the vet was very professional and, as we came to learn, caring. Dont hesitate to take your beloved friends here, they will try everything they can to help.

Took my dog here for parvo. Before i left i gave my dog a bath, took him here and he had to stay for a few nights. Well when i went to pick him up they took forever to go get him, then when they finally brought him out, he stunk so bad i couldnt stand it. So i asked why does he stink so bad and look so dirty, they replied with "you would to!". They told me they kept him quarantined in a cage the whole time. So i got home and had to give him two baths just to get all the dirt off of him and the stinch is still there. Also! They hardly fed or gave him any water. The little guy almost drowned himself. I rate this place -10

Love me Pet Health Center. Have contributed to the Rescue efforts through the Shelter Buddys account. Prices are very reasonable - the staff is "in this" profession for the animals. Spending way too much time up there! Have all my canine vet work performed there excepting the rabies (which my equine vet does at my home). Recently had to put a precious rescued Sr Pom to sleep... They let me give her bits of Braums Jr. Cheeseburger all the way to the end... So peaceful and sweet... and fast. She never knew or felt a thing... Tears but Molly V is resting and no longer scared or in pain...

To Lance Tyree, you must understand something about parvo. Your dog was thin and dehydrated from constant vomiting and diarrhea . They cannot hold anything down and they do stink horribly because of the above. Did your dog survive? If so, then they did their job well. I love this clinic. Both Drs Sterle and Brent are very good at what they do. They are constantly seeking more knowledge to help more animals. And any clinic who gets a dog through parvo is a GOOD vet clinic.

Dr. Amy Brent is the most amazing vet I have ever found in my 19 years of being a responsible pet owner. I refuse to go any where else now that I have found her! My animals are my babies and I feel lucky to have found the BEST "pediatrician" lol for my fur babies. Closer vets are near me and I will ALWAYS make the trip to PET HEALTH CENTER where I know my animals will be given the best and most loving care.

I love these people. My cat came to the end of his life,because I believe he had a stroke he also had heart problems. They were very loving. I had to put him down.He had 16 years and I loved him to death They sent me a card,so sweet even today I cant tell this story within tears. C shaffer

I took my dog in as a first time patient for a hematoma in her ear flap. she was obviously very comfortable with the staff. the repair was done very well and they even trimmed her nails.I will use them any time my dog needs a vet while I am in the Decatur area.
