I used Banfield for the fifteen years my German Shepherd was alive, and my parents used them before this. Last year, my dog was diagnosed with heart worms at his yearly checkup - Banfield proceeded to tell me I would need to upgrade my insurance and that treatment would be thousands of dollars. The Baldwin Vet, treated my dog incredibly for 1/8 of the price. I have always known that they are expensive so I took this with a grain of salt. However, 5 months later, I had to put my dog down because of GDV. I was devastated. About a week later my father called on my behalf to cancel his insurance to which they responded that I owe them over $300 as a cancellation fee. Either that, or continue to pay them until my contract was up. I was not cancelling too cancel, my dog died. They said it was for the treatment that he had received - the yearly check up and tests - the checkups that I paid monthly fees for him to get. Always on time, for 15 years. I cannot believe that a company would treat the death of an animal as a contract breech. I was already upset beyond words about my Romeo - and they just added salt to the wound.

The Man Who Sold The World

They are terrible! Scam!! Always trying to push meds on our dog that wasnt needed!! And the meds that we did need, didnt work. We canceled the insurance with them and now they are saying we owe from December!! Really?! Now you tell us we owe you money? They wont give us the paperwork showing that we owe. DO NOT USE THEM!! Its a rip off!! ZERO STARS, I had to put a star because it wouldnt let me post without it...of course. We use Southside Animal Clinic now and they are FANTASTIC!! Nice, patient, and arent trying to sell products that the animal doesnt need!! Never had a problem getting an appointment and the prices are great!!

I really love this place when I first started using them 4 years ago. But I have started in realize that they are basically there for well dig care. Twice this month I needed assistance and to no avail, I didnt get help. I have decided that they are not dedicated to the customers and the pets that pay the monthly fee. I will tell everyone to go somewhere else. My dog needed more medication yesterday, no body ever returned my call yet.

Horrible experience! The staff and vets and office manager are extremely rude and unprofessional. they are always booked can never fit me in. overly expensive for poor service. they are rough with my dog and do not care for their patients!

Scams all around. I had to put my poor kitty girl down and the prices were crazy ridiculous. And on top of that they want us to continue paying for my (now deceased) kittys plan. I would put zero stars if I could. Just go somewhere else.
