Dr. Williams and his staff is AMAZING! We adopted our dog Riggs from the Humane Society in Waco and had him just short of a week before we realized something was very wrong. Long story short, he was diagnosed with Lymphoma. It was heartbreaking news, and my fiance and I couldnt believe our ears. Wed fallen in love with Riggs, even after only having him for 8 days. Initially we rushed Riggs to the Waco ER clinic thinking he has injusted something, then the doctor, who was also wonderful, noticed that his lymph nodes were very swollen. He was running an extremely high fever as well. We went home with antibiotic, and the next morning we brought him to our regular doctor. They did some testing, and sent Riggs home. When I got off of work at 11pm, Riggs looked awful, so we rushed him back to the ER clinic where the kept him overnight. This ER doctor was also amazing!!! The next morning we picked Riggs up and brought him to South Bosque. Dr. Williams was our last stop, and he was truly amazing. We discovered later from our former doctor who had run tests on Riggs that he had lyphoma. It was extremely aggressive, and it was my understanding that even most of the doctors were shocked at how bad it was. His systems literally happened "overnight". We made the ultimate decision to humanely euthanize Riggs. Dr. Williams and his technician sat with us on the floor and gave Riggs all the love we could. My fiance and I were just a river of tears, and the compassion and understanding Dr. Williams and his technician showed us was just amazing. I will never go anywhere else...South Bosque is it for us. They are like our family. The sympathy letter we recieved sealed the deal. Dr. Williams sent us a beautiful hand written note that made me smile, made me cry, and made us feel like we did all we could for Riggs, as I often second guessed our decision to euthanize him instead of attempting Chemo. If you are looking for a wonderful vet, go here! They truly care about the animal, and that is what it should always be about!

I cant praise this clinic enough. Archer, my 6 month old black lab, was going through a tough transition when we brought him home from the shelter. He was having a very bad diarrhea spell and he had some type of infection behind his left ear. Im a first time "parent" myself, and I was worried sick about his health. I read the reviews online and came to the conclusion that South Bosque was for me. Boy am I glad! The entire staff treated us like part of the family. They ushered Archer and I through the back door immediately upon arrival into our own room(now if only we could get that type of service at my own doctor!) After the vet tech wrote down a summary of my concerns, Dr. Johnston came in to evaluate him. I cant speak highly enough of the professional and caring manner of which he exhibited during this appointment. He treated Archer like he was his own. During every part of the examination, he let it be known what exactly he was doing and how he was able to determine what Archer did and did not have. After that he left the room and came back with the medication that he prescribed and in detail went over what to do in the next few weeks until Archer was feeling chipper again! He also gave me a month by month set of instructions for Archers vaccinations and complete puppy care to insure that his growth was proper and healthy. Like I said, I cant commend this man enough, Ive been in the Marine Corps for 3 years and a student at Baylor for 2 and I havent seen a doctor with this type of professionalism. After we were done we went to the front counter and I went to pay for the medications. Archer had another accident right there and the staff just went to work like a well oiled machine. Admittedly, the cost of the visit was extremely high, but I did consent to many tests just to make sure Archer was alright. I would definitely recommend this clinic.

Dr. Jered Johnston and his amazing staff have taken great care of my pets for years. The staff is caring, patient, and friendly and I can’t imagine taking my pets anywhere else. Dr. J has always been very forthright in his diagnosis and quick to explain the implications and possible outcomes of each procedure. He is a very friendly, caring, direct, and honest individual. I’ve even seen the staff cry with patients in certain circumstance because I was one of them. Unfortunately, my most recent visit to their office turned out to be one the worst and toughest days in my life. My 13 year old Golden’s (TEX) kidneys were failing due to cancer in his body. When I posed the question of what I should do, he was very direct with my options, but wanted to do what was in the best interest of my dog and my family. A few days later, I received a hand-written note from Dr. Jered and his staff. I was deeply touched by their message and have it saved to this day. A day or two after I received their note, I received a letter from the Texas A&M Veterinary Research facility saying that a monetary donation had been made TEX’s name. This gesture obviously wasnt something that they had to do, but definitely showed that they cared about the devastating situation that caused me to lose one of my best friends. I highly recommend SBVC and have referred several friends and clients to them over the years and will continue to do so.

We have used South Bosque Veterinary Clinic for many, many years so have met many, many of the staff. We recently had a pup come down with Lepto. Our little pup was a very sick little girl. Dr. Zamzow called us regularly to give us updates on what was happening with her. She didnt like the IV at all so she pulled out every chance she got. Dr. Zamzow very patiently re-inserted. We certainly did appreciate those calls. Not long after that, our other pup developed a major problem that caused part of her intestines to be totally collapsed. I would give more information but the point is that South Bosque immediately swung into action and performed a very extensive surgery. Our pup is a very, very lucky little girl to be with us. She recovered from the surgery with no problems. The only way you would know just how bad she was is the scar she sports on her belly! Again, through all of the process, we were kept totally informed. It is not just the vets, and each of them have been great when we dealt with them, but the staff is all so careful, kind, and professional with the pups from the assistants to the office staff. They always try to meet our needs and do it in a pleasant but professional manner. Thank you South Bosque.

The staff here is fantastic. Their care and concern goes above and beyond anything we could have ever expected. We first met them when our 17 year old pet was at the end of his time with us. They understood our pain; at making this impossible decision, and their concern for him and for our feelings made the process a little more bearable. Afterwards we received a sympathy card; signed by the entire staff, and they made a donation to the A&M Veterinary school on our pets behalf. We were totally blown away by their care and concern. They are now caring for our two new puppies and we highly recommend them to anyone needing a vet!
