I never spend the time to write a bad review. Ive only written good ones. However, the awful experience we had here and with Dr. Jahari and her MA warrants this post. We made an appointment for my husband due to possible appendicitis as diagnosed by his school nurse. They took so long just to see him, completely missing the appointment time. He waited 2 hours in pain and they were pretty much at the end of the work day. He describes the same details he had told his school nurse and Jahari diagnoses constipation (even though it was stated that he is quite regular). She gave very vague instructions to get a "big bottle" of Miralax, the stuff people take for colonoscopy bowel prep, which is intended to aggressively clear out the bowels. The spoken and written instructions literally say "big bottle". Due to the negligent and vague instruction, he took way too much. He was knocked over, retching in pain from the laxative. Had chills. Felt unbearably nauseous. He spent the entire night running to the restroom. Next morning, after a terrible night, there was no sign of any improvement of the original pain and that the pain was actually getting worse. We contact the office and had to leave a message. I state in the message that the original pain was still there and to please clarify those unclear dosage instructions. Hours later, we get the call back but happen to miss the call....the MA left a voice message, in a patronizing tone, saying, "um, we sent you home with very clear instructions. You need to read those." That was it. She did not address the pain issue. A good friend who is a PA recommended that he go to the ER to get a CT scan. The nurse at the ER saw him and said this is clearly appendicitis. The CT scan confirmed that was the case. We were able to schedule the appendectomy that evening. The surgeon reported that we were very fortunate that the appendix did not rupture, but that it was so "sick" that it was at the point just before rupture, and that they had to cut open his intestine to get it out. It was a difficult case. He mentioned it was a good thing it didnt rupture by having taken that laxative. The laxative negatively aggravated the situation unnecessarily. Jahari was negligent in her examination and diagnosis and I just felt the need to let that be known. We dont commonly share personal details, but I just would not wish this terrible situation to any one else.

Dr. Chene Smith is my primary care physician & I have been nothing but extremely fortunate and grateful to have found her. She is extremely personable, understanding, and researched - able to answer any questions (and I have lots) with informative detail that I can easily understand.I have never had a single issue reaching out to Dr. Smith, or her equally amazing nurse Marcella, in between my every 3-month appointments. As for the complaints below regarding the front staff & call wait times - the clinic is in the process of switching over to an entirely new computer system & that has increased call wait times dramatically. This is obviously temporary - my doctor and the staff notified me before hand that they would be going through a few weeks of well.. hell," until the full adjustment to the new system was complete. So, please disregard the complaints regarding the long call waiting times. The clinic is doing this so that they may provide you with even better service in the near future. Anyone in the service industry knows, its just as hard on the staff as it is on the impatient clients when big changes like this are made. So, take this as a good opportunity to work on your patience. Thanks Dr. Smith, Marcella, & Front Staff at FMC @ NG for all you do! :)

The doctor and staff are great, but they just changed to a new system. That system is a hindrance to quality care because it is not affective, it is inaccurate, and one can never reach a real person at that location by phone. This is all drastically different than it once was. My husband has been trying to reach his doctor for at least 1week following an initial new patient appointment for annual exam and labs. It was determined he should sign up for the new electronic records system for better communication. That has been a failure. The records are incomplete. Neither the doctor or his nurse have returned the multiple calls and messages left. My husband has continued to call and has waited on hold similar to a customer service phone qeue for about 40 minutes. He has gone to the office in person and left a message at the desk. Finally last night they called-not my husband, but my daughters cell phone and left a voice mail. We dont know how they chose to finally call my husband but used my daughters cell instead of the number he left. My husband needs the doctor to call regarding a change of medication!! The new North Garland Family Medical Center way of doing things is horrific!!

In my experience, the practitioners here are fabulous: deeply caring and certainly called. Thats assuming you can get through to them. Alas, you have ONE number to call. I just spent 16 minutes and 27 seconds on hold to cancel an appointment. Then, the call was dropped. The BSWH app interface seems never to work. Baylor has to take some responsibility to add more numbers / means to reliably, timely reach your doctor. If you make a ton of changes in your systems, you absolutely have to scale up to respond to problems. My opinion is that ONE NUMBER for multiple clinics with no alternative numbers is terrible practice. At least give numbers to provide feedback! The staff are great. The systems, no matter how well-intended, are - at this point - broken.

I had a visit with Doctor Sadler for a minor medical condition. Pros: Dr. Sadler herself was a very nice woman Cons: The staff and doctor will nickel and dime you for every little thing that happens without a care on how it affects you. They do not tell you before hand if something will cost you and they just proceed with additional procedures without notifying you that there will be additional billing. If you are not aware of what comes with a standard visit, DO NOT GO HERE. Additionally, there are long wait times, even if you have an appointment and even if you call the office numerous times with questions or complaints, no one returns the calls. I will be looking for a more ethical and friendly doctors office for my medical needs

Before today I had only seen Dr. Mcknight and Valerie my MA. They are both in the upper echelon of customer service and professionalism. Today I had an appointment and Dr Mcknight was on vacation so Dr.Smith, Katie , Norma, and Marcela saw me and they were all extremely helpful and caring. If youre looking for a place that cares about your health first and foremost this is the place for you. Every person that makes eye contact with you has a warm smile. Im not the best patient in the world, in fact I may be one of the worst, I miss appointments, am horrible at keeping a routine with my meds, but an outside observer would think I was the exact opposite if judging by the treatment they give me. Thank you for the excellent service. A+++

I have always had good experiences with this office. Dr. Andrea McKnight is my Primary Care Physician. Shes always been great. I have also used the walk in clinic on occasion and have had good luck with it. Wait times are usually very reasonable. I do realize that everyone can have a bad experience. After reading through some of the bad reviews here, I would like to encourage every patient to communicate with the doctors. If you feel that a service should be performed (for example, labwork) INSIST that it be performed. If you feel that something should not be done (for example, a flu vaccine) INSIST that it NOT be done. At the end of the day, doctors and nurses see dozens of patients. Each of us has to be our own advocate.
