This is not a rant, but a warning. My family has been using the clear lake vet office to treat one of their cats for a while. Today, the cat, started violently vomiting blood and also had bloody stool. I called on their behalf to ask for advice. The receptionist let me know that they would need to see the cat in person. This is understandable. I was then informed that everyone is going to LUNCH so I would have to bring him in at the end of the day or tomorrow at ten. Im sorry but if my family has built a relationship with this office, and the most vital part of having a successful business is to build trust with your clientele, WHY ON EARTH is it more important to this office to have a social lunch hour than to make sure they are properly covered for emergencies like this? Its one thing to be completely booked/ full with other pets, but to actually give them no help and basically send the message that they dont care... Im not sure why anyone would bother to build a relationship with them if they clearly arent there when it matters. I find it very distributing that this woman did not just first offer the number to an emergency clinic if they were unavailable to help, but found it necessary to tell me the entire staff (minus the surgical team) eating at the same time is their first priority. I would not trust them with even taking my pets weight.

Had an appointment to take my dog in to be bathed and dried. This was the second time they brought him to me WET, not just damp the first time was sopping WET, 2nd visit was wet. Apparently the green eyed monster working that day had a bad day and decided shed take it out on me.. After dropping my dog off at 7:30 a.m. and being called twice to pickup at 12:00 then 1:00 p.m. and telling me that my dog was bathed at 7 that morning and ton 5 1/2 hours to dry. Spoke down to me like I was some dumb bimbo and didnt have a clue what I was talking about, which led to things being worst. Needless to say it seems this vet is more about money and I will not recommend them EVER to anyone! No apology, nothing, but was told that maybe I should take my dog else where because she couldnt answer a simple question.

I was a little concerned to hear Dr. Murphy was retiring. That being said, Im happy to report - as of my last visit the clinic - the staff were still their wonderful selves. The clinic seems to be getting some much needed rehab, some paint here, more modern decor there. But most importantly Dr. E is really a truly compassionate vet who is one of the best diagnosticians I have ever encountered. I was pleasantly surprised how well he handled my, clearly terrified, rescue pup with what I feared was severe mange but turned out to be terrible atopic dermatitis. Just for all the grief he saved us alone, I would recommend him to everyone I know with a pet and I will continue to bring all my furry babies here!

I would suggest this clinic to anyone that cares for their pets. Dr. Elorriaga has taken over as the director for this clinic, and I have not had one negative experience from him in the five years that he has been my dogs doctor. My fiancé and I have followed him over to this clinic from our previous clinic in Houston. It is a further drive for us since we live on the west side of Houston, but like I said Dr. Elorriaga has been my dogs doctor for five years. As for the new clinic, we have not experienced anything negative there as well. The staff has always been kind and courteous towards us and our pets. All I can say is that I like taking my dogs there, because I know they will taken care of.

This place was recently purchased by another doctor because Dr. Murphy is retiring. My last appointment there was never confirmed the day before. While I was there a lady was complaining her appointment wasnt confirmed. They have high school kids now instead of the staff we have grown to trust When I got home and I was looking at my bill, I realized they charged me an exam with vaccinations ($37). I called them up because they have never charged that before. They said its new protocol. Any time you go just for vaccinations they will charge you an extra $37 dollars!! I will not be going back and am extremely sad the the vet I have been going to for 27 years has changed so radically so fast.

The office seems a little run down, but every one who worked there was pleasant. I was really upset when we went in because our cat has been sick three times with the same problem. Our first vet was great but could only narrow it down to three things, and then we moved so we came here. The vet didnt run a single test and stated absolutely definitively that it was feline leukemia. He gave my cat some medicine and a steroid injection, and he got better by the end of the day. My cat got sick again months later with the same thing and got over it without any medicine. We feel there is no way this is FeLV. I doubt we will ever go back here.

Friendliest vet staff Ive ever taken a pet to! You can most definitely tell they love theyre job and are animal lovers! Ive never had an animal get so excited to go to the vet! I got my pup when he was not even 8 weeks old (Im a total cat person, btw) and they were VERY helpful in teaching me how to raise a puppy and seemed more than glad when I asked questions! And the prices dont break the bank at all and (lets face it we can all be forgetful sometimes with our busy lives) I always get a call or text (!!) When its time for Luciano to come in! I recommend them to any of my friends who have pets!!!

My animals have been clients and patients of Clear Lake City Vet Clinic for more than 16 years. First, my two cats, and then my dog, Zoey. I was a bit concerned when Dr. Murphy sold the practice, because I and my animals really liked him, but Dr. Elorriaga has been a breath of fresh air that I think the practice needed. He and his staff are caring, professional, and well-versed on the latest trends in veterinary medicine. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone who cares about their pets!

Dont get the other reviews. I took my schnauzer to this vet for the first time and could not have been more impressed. Franky can be a bit temperamental, especially when I take him to the v-e-t. The staff was so patient and understanding and made what is normally a painful ordeal for him (and me!) into something more enjoyable. I will definitely come back. Super friendly staff, caring vet, nice location.

We used the clinic for many years for 3 cats but when the Vet retired the new one was disturbing. My wife would ask a question and he would direct his answer directly to me as if he didnt talk to women. That was VERY strange. But the treatment of my cat I could not get over. I was not happy. You could contact me for details if you like. If I had another pet this would not be my Vet choice.
