Read before taking your pet here. I give 0 stars I used this vet 3 times. I should have stopped after the first visit. My first visit was when my cats eye got infected. Before the vet came in she had already put a bill together even before she looked at the cat. The bill was almost $400.00 just to treat an eye infection. She was treating for wrong thing...herpes virus. After reviewing the bill I could see that she was gouging me so I cut it down to 1/3 of that. The second time my cat had a bladder infection and she tried to tell me that he needs to spend the night. BS and I called her on it. He got a shot of antibiotics and withing a day or two he was fine. The 3rd and final time. My cat is very sick, has a bottom jaw 3 times it size but she starts with all the thing I need to do prior to examining the cat. Now the vet knows that I have to hold the nap of the cats neck while she examines and stick the thermometer up his bottom , I have done this every time since he does not allow people to touch him. But this time she tells me that the tech needs to hold the cat instead of me. I asked why and she said that she does not want me to get bite by the cat. Are you kidding me right now. Its my cat. Pets do better with their owners their. She said will we need to sedate him so come back on Monday and this is Saturday. Then I look on their website and see that they are open on Sundays. What is up with that? I told her I will take the cat somewhere else. Then the tech quickly pick up the cage with the cat in it and started carrying out of the building , I guess they did not want a scene. And I assume I am not the first person that this has been done this way. It really seemed routine. She carried the cat all the way to the car and said to me that she is here for me if I want to talk about it. What does that tell you. Now if the vet was not so use to being cunning she could have said we need to just sedate the cat to examine him and do it. But no she does not know how to be honest which is the real problem. Just be honest so your business does not struggle. Its very obvious she does not care about the animals, You are about the might buck and it will come back on you. The circle of life It is animal cruelty.

The girl named Amanda, who is attacking brenda, the receptionist your talking about is actually nices one of them all and happen to own cats herself... did you ever think that the reason you waited in the car was because they didnt have any room open for you and they didnt want any contiguous animal with the other healthy animals? Were you walk in? Cause thats probably why you waited so long? Ive been going to this vet for over 5 years and I know they can be expensive but again did you not realize they have bills too? They are the only vet who happen to be open 7 days a week... since yall dont want to go the emergency hospital well dont expect your bill to be low. Ricky, so your saying cause they took in the kitten in your were happy? They are a hospital not a shelter, were you planning to do a donation?People, animals hosptial are doing a favor for you but again dont get booty tickle if they cant... Call ANIMAL CONTROL if you honsetly dont want to deal with it... Lady with the rott...Was your dog microchipped? Did it had any tags? Do you honestly think people will remember... I can barely remember what I ate this morning. They see a lot patients, and again reality check, if your answer was no on the identification whos fault was it really you or them? Lady with muzzle story, DID YOU KNOW, if your dog bit them, they will have to do a rabies prep? BY LAW they have to CUT YOUR DOG HEAD and you will have to pay EXTRA so they were doing you a favor maam... Before posting negative reviews have yall tried to contact the practice manager (Mona Crowe, Batra, Jensen)... there humans and the practice isnt perfect but if you have a legit reason to be upset, they will be happy to fix it for you.. Overall I really want to thank Atascazoo, and I wanted to thank Dr. Ludlow the most, for helping me out... I was cheap at times when it came to my pet but I thank you for the advice that you gave me...even though it a pain in the butt to bathe spot cause he now knows when is bath time and hes not a 20pound puppy I can just carry around but hes doing well... his skin look great and his ear infection arent smelling like yeast.

I can say I was not impressed with Atascazoo. I just moved to the area and did not have a new vet yet so I called around. I spoke to someone on the phone and they sounded friendly enough, I get to the clinic and I am asked if I have his records twice by a woman who hasnt bothered to look up at me once as I am holding out his folder of vet records. I was a walk in waited perhaps 15 - 20 minutes saw the vet who then came and said "oh, we arent able to do the procedure your cat needs because we arent fully staffed on Sundays" this is understandable but when someone calls over the phone and clearly states what the situation is do not say "Yes come in we can treat it" when you cannot, as they made sure to collect their exam fee for.. looking at my cat. I ended up having to go else where. I called back after the emergency visit because I needed someone to monitor my cat while I worked during the day I asked for pricing you know because I just spent about $1500 at the emergency vet and the pricing I received was oh $200 to $300 when I asked for the pricing to be broken down I was told I had to come in. They accept walk ins but prefer appointments, so the first time I was given I think was 3:15 on Monday which wouldnt work because I needed to go into work and he needed at least a few hours of being monitored. I figured that they would treat him like he was in a medicated day care which is what my previous vet has done when he had this same issue three years ago. If you cannot tell me why the charge is so much to monitor my cat, who 1.) I have his medicine, 2.) He no longer has any life threatening emergency 3.) just needs to have his medicine given to him while I am at work. Pretty sad, I ended taking my cat back Downtown to his original doctor who by the way only charged me about $86.00, to monitor him, give him fluids, give his medications and feed him

I say if you are taking your pet anywhere else, they are not getting thorough, specialized service. BUT feel free to stay away so that my pets can always get in without all the extra customers. ;) I have had multiple pets treated by these vets since 1994. They are amazing. First of all, they are expensive. Having a pet IS expensive. When you take on a pet you take on the responsibility to care for it, completely. Dogs/Cats cannot tell us where the pain is so thorough blood work, X-rays, urinalysis, CBC, etc. is necessary to have them determine the etiology of your dog/cats symptoms. ALL the doctors at Atascazoo are good and extremely talented. If you have a cat that has chronic renal failure, you cannot beat seeing Dr. Batra. She treated my Sebastian for 3 years and he did very well until 18 years old. She was more on target than the specialists at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialist down by the Galleria (talk about expensive!). I also would trust her more than some PCPs I have had for me. I think it is important to note that although they are busy, and because the area where the hospital is highly populated they may seem like they are in a hurry. This does not mean your pet isnt getting the best care. I HIGHLY recommend this hospital as they have saved my pets many times, they have extended hours, and are highly trained/skilled veterinarians who consult with each other as well as other local veterinary specialists to evaluate the best course of treatment for your pet. You are getting more bang for your buck. TRUST me, it is worth it.
