After my dog got diagnosed with parvo virus he was kept in this small, clean, and beautifully kept room at Harrisburg veterinary clinic, it was just him, to avoid contact with other dogs and such, the vet, Michael Farmer and his assistant went out of their way to make him feel at home, they did an excellent job at maintaining communication with us about our dogs health concerns, they were very friendly and lenient when it came to informing us, we requested he would send an email in the morning and call in the afternoon, these people went out of their busy work day to do just that, they were very patient when we asked questions about our dogs health concerns, and gave detailed explanations so that we understood what this virus was doing, they explained the process that would be taken step by step and explained (in detail) to us every vitamin and antibiotic that out dog would be on while he was there, what it was used for and how it would help, they were kind enough to print out an additional info sheet so that we could take home, our dog was looked after and cleaned daily, being in the weak state he was when we brought him in he came out with a significant amount of energy and the vet was keeping up with us until his last day, after his passing they sent us a warm card expressing their condolences, I can never thank Michael Farmer, enough for everything he did for our family, a couple of days ago my next door neighbor showed up at my house and informed us that our dog and his had mated and his dog had puppies, he asked if we wanted one that looked exactly like our dog, we accepted the puppy, will I take him back to Harrisburg Veterinary clinic? Of course!!! I can never recommend this clinic enough to anyone, anyone with a dog, looking for a vet that knows his stuff and LOVES what he does should DEFINETLEY come to this clinic.

If I could give this place ZERO stars, I absolutely would. When my puppy, Rocky, started showing signs of parvo, we took him in. The staff asked what his symptoms were (which were vomiting and diarrhea with some blood.) and took a stool sample for testing. When they tested him, I was told that his test came out negative for parvo and that he had worms and coccidia. They gave him a b12 shot and sent me on the way with his medicine. They did not seem to have any concerns, despite his appearance, so I trusted their opinion that he would be okay. Well, a short few hours later, my dog fell even more ill and died a horrible, violent death. Rocky did not deserve this. Before his death, we had another Vet come and look him over and this time we were told that it was Parvo and by that time it was too late. I wish Harrisburg Veterinary Clinic would have taken more time to look over his diagnosis and better serve Rocky. He was only 4 months old. When I called the next day and told them what had happened, it seemed as if they did not care about what happened. Im so displeased with this place and I will never recommend Harrisburg Vet Clinic to friends and family. I will never ever come back here again.

My dog was recently attacked by a stray dog, Dr. Farmer was really polite and informative. He was gentle with my pit bull. The receptionist was nice as well especially because I had no appointment and just walked in. The facility was very clean and well kept. I found this place online and chose to take my dog here based on its positive reviews. Needless to say, the positive things I read about this clinic were very true and accurate. Ive definitely found a new pet care clinic/veterinarian for my animals and highly recommend it to you. I am unsure if they can or will invoice you for emergency services or not. I paid about $300 for the visit, which included antibiotics, Dr. shaving the spots my dog had been bit, sedation, cleaning the wounds really well and nail clipping. A little bit more than I anticipated but no complaints.

Ive owned dogs and cats for 35 years, so Ive seen a few veterinarians and animal clinics. Dr. Farmer understands the community where his clinic is located -- hes an active supporter of organizations that assist with strays and rescues (like my dogs), and most importantly, he compassionately keeps his fees down to a minimum so that the animal companions of the East End can afford to get the highest quality of care. He is the only vet that my youngest dogs ever known (shes 4 years old now), and now that Ive moved 40 miles from the East End, I still make the drive to Harrisburg Vet for our annual well-care and vacs. I know from experience -- when you find a good doctor, you stick with them.

All staff are friendly and polite they really care about your fur babies and treat you and them with respect they never keep you waiting for a long time its always clean in there and Dr. Farmer is awesome! He is full of knowledge example I took my baby in there she had a large sore on the side of her head he knew exactly what it was he brought up photos on the internet and information and I was more comfortable knowing more about what was going on with her Im glad I found my baby a great dr. and he also has a great sense of humor

Very excellent service! Never really checked out this place because i thought it would be too expensive.. but it really isnt! They are nice enough to give you an estimate if your not sure about some of there services. Very informative about what they are recommending to your pets and why shots or meds are needed. The assistants made my dog feel comfortable and safe while getting his vaccines (And my dog is known to be snappy and aggressive! But he was a very good boy!) Will make this my permanent vet!!!

Im so glad that my cousin recommended Dr. Farmer to me! He takes his time to explain everything and makes sure that you understand what hes telling you. His staff is very polite and helpful, and they also help explain things too when he isnt there. Prices are reasonable and I always leave with my baby very happy(though shes never too happy XD). And even though this clinic is a little far for me from home, its very well worth the drive! :)

Fir being my first time. Recommend by my brother. Clean My appointment was at 9:45 And still waiting to be seen. There was an patient before me. This is not good. And top of that I was seeing the doctor that I scheduled. Im seeing their assistant. She was very slow came out to the lobby and started weighing the dog that should be the technician job. So she can focus on getting patients in and out. I probably wont be coming back.

A kind, caring and affordable vet. This is truly the holy trifecta for vets, and Harrisburg is exactly that. Dr. Farmer has been especially helpful in helping us navigate our dogs anxiety, taking the time to understand the problem, and then doing the research to make sure he found the best solution. Whatever your vet needs are, I am confident that this clinic will serve you well, and not break the bank in the process!
