Our relationship with the South Tyler Animal Clinic began in December of 1998, when our beloved little Yorkie, Soli, came into our lives. Dr. Wheeler was the primary vet at the time. His kindhearted demeanor and his considerable knowledge, along with the dedication and professionalism of the capable staff, gave us the assurance that our canine companions health care was in good hands. Our assurance was augmented when Dr. Ramsey took over in 2008. His commitment to excellence, combined with his exuberant, genuine affection for our little Soli (and all animals in general), and his vast encyclopedic grasp of veterinary medicine and the latest scientific research is nonpareil. Sadly, Dr. Ramsey diagnosed our beloved Soli with diabetes and renal failure at the end of January, 2011. He started to deteriorate and we thought we would have to put him to sleep the first week of February. But, with Dr. Ramseys advice and instruction, we aggressively took care of Soli (insulin shots, daily saline IVs and a strict diet) at home. He bounded back to life for another month and continued to give us love and joy up until his beautiful little body finally gave out on March 16, 2011. Throughout the whole final process, Dr. Ramsey and staff provided us the utmost in personal and empathetic attention which helped to alleviate some of the emotional pain of losing our faithful and constant companion of 12 years and 3 months. When it is time to bring a new companion into our family, South Tyler Animal Clinic will be part of that relationship.

Dr. Ramsey and the staff at South Tyler Animal Clinic are the BEST!!! They go above and beyond what is required of any animal clinic. They are compassionate, sympathetic and ALWAYS make me feel welcome. STAC realizes that the dogs and cats they treat are not just an animal, they are someone’s baby. The staff is always friendly and helpful (they dont even mind when I call twice a day to check up on my sick baby everyday for week...HEHE)! Dr. Ramsey goes far beyond what most vets would do to find out exactly what is wrong with your pet. He researches and tries to find the best way to treat the dog or cat. He always tells me what is best for my pet, even if the outcome is not going to be a good one. We have had a few really bad illnesses, but I truly felt like Dr. Ramsey helped me make the right decision in every situation. I have several dogs (5) and cats (2) and I know when they are being treated at STAC, they are being treated like they belong the staff and Dr. Ramsey, and are not just a client. I have not had the pleasure of working with Dr. Muhr, but I do her as a person and she is also wonderful! I have dealt with a several vets in my adulthood and have only come across one other that has the compassion that this clinic and vets have. I would not want my babies being treated anywhere else! The Singletons love South Tyler Animal Clinic!

New to the area, I needed to find a vet clinic when my elderly 90+ lb lab, Shiner, was having severe stomach problems on Friday morning. Several clinics I called were booked and told me to go the emergency hospital, but South Tyler Animal Clinic, although already booked up for the day, said to bring him by, and they would work him in. Everyone there was helpful and kind to both Shiner and I, and no one rushed their explanations to me. I have had to reach out to them again when returning from out of town, I found Shiner broken out with a severe rash on his stomach. I immediately called South Tyler Animal Clinic, and although booked up, they said bring him by, and they would kennel him until the doctors could work him in. All worked out well for Shiner who had staph, and I cant make enough positive comments about our experiences.

Went here because it had all great ratings. Im used to a small and very personal clinic from my last town. I did not get that personalized feeling here; I felt like just another number. I dont remember the name of the DVM, but she was actually very nice; it was the tech who seemed unhappy about helping us. Desk staff was also very nice. Additionally, my cat can be difficult to work with and tends to not allow contact with strangers easily, but I have never had him act so uncomfortable as I did here. He did pretty well at my last vet and allowed them to pet him and get done whatever they needed to. Lastly, I use Revolution as his flea medicine and while I was paying $12.50/dose at my last clinic, I was charged $25/dose here. Ill be looking for a smaller, more personal vet.

Great Animal Focus and Customer Support: We own several dogs and have been totally impressed by the service and care the entire clinic provides to their direct customers the animals and the owners of the animals. They work with you on scheduling, reminders, and go above and beyond when it comes to the care of your animal. Dr. Ramsey is a top notch vet that tells it like it is and will work to help your animal in everyway possible. His staff follows his lead in care for the animals and response and attention to the customers (the owners). We drive a good distance to go to his clinic, because we trust him and know he will be there for us and our animals ! Once you go to Dr. Ramsey and his staff you wont want to go to any other veterinary clinic or hospital.

I love this clinic and I have tried several in Tyler, first off, they are extremely well organized and efficient. Everyone here knows their job and does it to the highest expectations. Secondly, the vet techs are all very knowledgeable and know how to handle my pets and make them comfortable with all procedures. And last, but most important, I love my vet, Dr. Ramsey, hes the best vet I have ever found, he is always willing to explain treatments to me in whatever detail I need and I trust him implicity because hes super smart!, great with my animals and they get excellent care from him. Cant recommend this clinic enough.

The staff at South Tyler Animal Clinic is always friendly and helpful and loves on my furbabies during appointments. Dr.Ramsey has been our vet for many years. He is extremely thorough and takes time to explain even the most detailed diagnosis. He continually invests in new technology for the clinic to provide the best level of care. During the times when I have lost a pet (primarily due to old age), Dr. Ramsey and his staff have extended such compassion to alleviate the grief. I recommend South Tyler Animal Clinic to anyone who desires to have the best combination of medical care and human compassion available in Tyler.

My cocker spaniel was diagnosed by another vet as having a back ache. She got worse, and this other vet was off that day so I took my dog to Dr. Ramsey. The difference between his exam and the other vets was like night and day! He was extremely thorough and determined that she most likely had a partially torn ACL and her back was FINE! My dog was feeling too bad for her problem to just be a torn ACL though, and Dr. Ramsey left no stone unturned to find out what was going on. He is not only an incredible diagnostician, but he and his staff are fabulously warm and caring. I will never, ever go to another vet again!
