I am writing in response to the review entitled "Worst Clinic Ever". If you have ever been to Dr. Duncans clinic since its opening then you know who I am. I worked there for almost 2 years and had to leave because of health problems. This review was obviously written by a disgruntled employee who would not voice their opinions to the owners but solely to the other employees who were forced to listen to it on a daily basis. I found no truth in any of this persons rantings. The safety and health of the pets in the clinic were and still are our sole priority. I say "our" because I still consider myself part of the clinic. The Vet techs are compassionate and caring people and I consider this clinic the most professionally run business I have ever encountered. It is true that all employees are expected to cross train and help with anything that needs doing, I feel that this should be the case in any business and that no one is "above" doing anything, epecially when it comes to the care and comfort of the animals. I am sure that anyone reading the review will know "sour grapes" when they see it and we all hope that this person finds a career that they are better suited for. Anyone wishing to visit and tour the facility may do so during any regular hours, without an appointment, as there is nothing to hide and both Kathleen and Dr.Duncan should feel very proud of their accomplishments in providing a safe and secure environment for their clients pets. Never afraid to sign my name, Pat Pierce

Ive been a member of HHFAs team for almost a year. When they first opened their doors, I knew I wanted to be a part of their vision for the future of veterinary medicine. At the time, I knew they were young and not quite ready to take on another clinician, so I waited until they were ready. Since Ive been here, Ive seen HHFA grow in so many ways. I see the difference we make in our clients and patients lives. I see worried and scared clients leave hopeful, relieved, and happy. I see hurt and suffering animals leave healed and whole again. Dr. Duncan and Kathleen have put their whole hearts and souls into this clinic. This is their dream, and it shows. I believe in them, and I believe in this hospital. I encourage everyone to come by and take a "behind the scenes" tour of Heights Hospital for Animals. Youll be amazed to see how much work, time, and passion has gone into creating this wonderful little environment for you and your pets.

As the provider of most of their medical/pharmaceutical supplies, I can say that Heights Hospital for Animals is one of the most conscious and care driven veterinary clinics that I do business with. They provide the highest quality of veterinary care, in a sterile, safe, and caring environment. They continue to practice advanced treatments with the best medications for your pet, focusing on continuing education and methods for the doctors and the staff. This is a JEWEL of a place to take your four-legged family member! And by the way... I can personally vouch for the catheters, sedation medication, scrub, and attire that they buy from us! The cost to practice the quality of medicine that they do - WOW! Trust me, it is in everything that they provide and well worth the precautions that they take!

Ive had good (although pricey) service here in the past, but Im not inclined to go back anytime soon. A tip to all vet clinics on training their receptionists: when a client comes in with a sick pet and says its an emergency, and youre unfortunately booked all that day and have to refer them elsewhere, dont bid them farewell with "Have a nice day." A simple "Hope your pet gets better" means a lot to the distraught pet owner (because of course were distraught if were showing up first thing in the morning and talking about an emergency). I dont want anyone to be fired...just take this as a training opportunity. Also, paying more than $200 for a check-up for two cats is not something I or many people can budget for.

Our dog has major anxiety when meeting new people/dogs. So you can imagine going to the vet is usually a big deal for us. Our dog is not a biter when she is anxious, but definitely a barker. I have been to vets before that require we muzzle her and the environment is tense. Dr. Duncan and his staff are all so friendly and professional. They made us calm which helped our dog stay more calm. We have been twice now and both times had a wonderful experience. Dr. Duncan will take the time to explain to you the process or history behind what your dog needs. I always leave feeling confident that our anxious dog is in the best hands. I never want to move so we can continue to bring our dog here!

We have been taking our pups to Heights Hospital for Animals for almost 10 years now and still wouldnt trust anyone else with our pets. They are able to get us in easily, have refills ready to pick up quickly, are super friendly, have a beautiful boarding area with large private rooms (not cages), and Kathleen, Dr. Martinez, Daniel, Michelle, Stephanie and the rest of the gang are the absolute best! When we had to put our sweet 14 yo lab down last year everyone was very compassionate and made sure Maple was as comfortable as possible and gave us all the quiet time we needed. If you need a vet or a safe and comfortable place to board your pet we highly recommend :)

Dr. Duncan and the techs appear to be good with animals. The prices are outrageous. I like to think I misunderstood a statement I heard Dr. Duncan say to a tech while he was in the back with my animal. It sounded like he happily exclaimed something to the effect of "and that is how you get it to 215." I didnt think anything about it until I went to pay and my bill was $215. I understand this is a business trying to make money but I hate to think he would suggest services that are not needed for the purpose of making more money. Whether or not I heard correctly, I dont think Id feel comfortable going back. Im seeking a new vet.

So far, so good. Ive taken my dog here for a few things and Dr. Martinez, as well as the rest of the staff have been very kind and patient. The clinic is always clean and never overly-crowded which is nice. They are very accommodating and able to get me in quickly which is great. Most recently I had a benign tumor removed my my dogs back, and the actual cost ended up being lower than the estimate I had signed. Dr. Martinez corrected the estimate post-surgery and I ended up saving about $200. It was a great surprise! The only down side is that its a bit on the pricey side.

The staff are friendly, the facility is clean, and appointments are fairly easy to schedule. Buyer beware though. They will nickel and dime you for every test and shot out there. We had our vet records transferred from New Orleans and this facility has not yet entered them into the system (they received the records 6 months ago). This means that every time we go in were prompted to get tests and updated vaccines that arent necessary. We are changing facilities at this point. Im fed up with the lack of record keeping and the tacking on of extra services.
